Hi all,

Just thought I'd post and say how exciting it is to be nearly there now! 33 weeks tomorrow - how time has flown. It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since I was tentatively signing on on this side of the web site. It all seemed so long to go at that point!!

I've just been signed off work for 2 weeks with high blood pressure, so that nearly takes me to my maternity leave. I only have 2 days to work when I get back from my sick leave.

I'm finding it harder to do things now - it's so tiring doing anything. And as for cooking and housework - hubby has been very good and has now taken over the hoovering!!

We finally bought something yesterday - a nursing chair and stool, but haven't bought any clothes yet. I may do that next week, but I can only manage and hour of shopping at a time before my ankles and legs swell up and my feet hurt (no-one ever told me being pregnant would be so hard).

We joined our local NCT classes and have had 3 classes so far. I'm quite pleased as one of our parentcraft class has been cancelled, which means that we're left with 2 classes (rubbish!!). Does everyone else get 3 classes on the NHS or is it like IVF treatment and depends on where you live?

Hopefully I may have more time to spend on this site now that I'm off work. I need to sort out the nursery (which is currrently my office), so will be doing that over the next couple of weeks. As Nina showed us, you never know when it will arrive!!

Best of luck to everyone - especially those who are due in Dec / Jan. Is anyone else actually looking forward to the birth? I am - I just want to experience it.

Alison xx
Morning Alison,

Was wondering how you are, well your 33wks and I will be 33wks on Thursday and who knows baby could make an appearance anytime now. Like you I am also finding doing things tiring, I didn't think pregnancy would be like it is but I am not complaining. Sorry to hear you have high blood pressure but least your off work and just make sure you take it steady. I have to go to the hospital regular now Alison because they say I am having a big baby and just need to keep a check on the measurements etc but they say I may have to have a c section but to be honest I will do what ever I have to to keep myself and the baby safe. I have 2 more weeks at work and then I finish, but I thought I was going to have to finish before that because like you my ankles and legs have been so swollen I have to wear my trainers everyday because there is just no way I can get any shoes on. I have to go to the dentist today which is exciting (NOT) but I am on a days holiday so it isn't so bad. You need to get cracking now with the nursery because the bab could come anytime. Mine is done now, have you done your hospital bag yet?

Hope to hear from you soon.
Love
Shell.
32wks 4d pg
xx
Hi Shell,

No we haven't done our hospital bag yet either !! The nursery should be started shortly and I'll probably start buying a few things for the hospital bag this week (best to avoid Brighton on a Saturday).

Perhaps you should be signed off work as well. It's so difficult as I still have a few things to sort out at work - but luckily I work at home, so I'm doing the odd hour a day to make sure it's all done by the 11th when I leave.

Glad they're monitoring the baby closely - at least that's reasuuring for you. My bumps quite large and everyone keeps asking me if I'm due next week, or having twins!! However, I don't seem to be any larger than others in my NCT class and the midwife doesn't seem too concerned, so I guess it's all okay.

Best of luck - the countdown is on.

Alison xx
