Cramping: Is it normal?

Post by ivfhopeful07 »

:D This is my first time posting to this board but I've been reading it for months. I am currently in that dreaded 2ww. I go for my first preg test Jan 8. My ET date was Dec 25 (5 day transfer). I finally broke down and took a HPT yesterday morning and it was positive. As I looked at the test, I thought to myself: These tests really work. This is the first time I've ever seen a positive result (I've tried for 7 years)!!

My question is: Is it normal to experience cramping now? I kinda feel like AF is gettin ready to show up. I've had cramping on and off for about 2 days now.

Some info about me:
TTC 7 years
ME: PCOS, thin lining
DH: Just fine
Several rounds of Clomid (I finally quit counting): BFN
2 IUI's
1 IVF: ER Dec 20, ET Dec 25

IVFHOPEFUL07--Congrats on your BFP!!!

I was pregnant once (natural) and I could have sworn AF was coming. In fact, I was surprised when I did the hpt and was positive  because I had ALL of the symptoms. I only did the hpt because dh and I were ttc AND I was 2 days late, otherwise I would have not even bought the hpt

Congrats! :D :D :D :D :D

IVFhopeful07 - Sounds like you have some good news heading your way!! :) I tested positive 7dp3dt on an HPT and continued to test positive every day after that leading up to my official blood test on the 12th day. Of course, I think my little embryo must have implanted pretty early and I had a pretty high Beta for my first blood test. I asked the RE a few days before my blood test if the HPT's were accurate (due to the trigger shot) and they said, "Well, if you are still testing positive now, you are probably pregnant". So, they agreed to take me in a day early to test. Oh - and the cramps are totally normal! That was so hard for me to accept, but I still have them every day and I am almost 8 weeks. One of the nurses at my clinic said that she had them throughout her pregnancy. I have not had any bleeding, so I feel pretty good at this point.

Good luck tomorrow!!!! :D

Mild, AF-like cramping was the only symptom I had consistently and still continue to have sometimes (scares the heck out of me) and I am 6wks pregnant today (4 wks past ER).

Congratulations!!
