Hi everyone-

Melinda- Glad to hear you are doing well.

Jayne- I bet your family was so excited for you especially knowing how much you've been through to get there.

As for me I home this week since school is out for the holidays. I'm so thankful too. I'be been able to catch up on rest and start cleaning out our spare bedroom to get ready for the nursery. I'm so excited b/c I have pretty much everything out! I had my nuchal translucency done yesterday in which we were able to see the babies. It was so reassuring to see both of them moving and kicking. They said they look great and A is measuring at 13 wks 2 days and B is 13 wks 1 day. Also A is 3 oz and B is 2.2. Being that they are different sizes it is possible they could be different sexes. We wont' know for sure till The end of Jan. Still another month to wait!

I hope everyone else is well and enjoying the holidays.

Hi Ladies,
Happy new year to you all, hope you all had a good one. DH and i went out for dinner with friends and family it was fab, looking forward to being at home with our little ones this year.

Kimberli, it was a shock to our parents as we had not told anyone except my mum that we were going through treatment, so the whole story came out that night, so now i cannot move for their concern. also snap on the size thing my twins are measuring one day apart, my dad jokingly says that means they will be born either side of midnight as they are different ages. He is Mad.

Hope all you other ladies are fine will catch up soon

Hi Everyone-
I hope everyone is having a good new year.

Jayne- My babies are measuring a day apart as well and are weighing differently. A is 3 oz and B is 2.2. The dr said its normal and we're (dh and I) are thinking possibly a boy and girl. Of course we wont' know for sure till the end of Jan. As for moving around just take it easy and listen to your body. I recently started to go back to the gym just walking on the treadmill and some leg weights. I figure I can at least do that until they bed rest me.

I hope everyone else is doing well and will get a chance to catch up.

Hi Ladies,

How was everyone's New Year? I had to work unfortunately...and watch everyone else get drunk - AGAIN :-/

Had my 10 week scan yesterday. All looking good. They've put my due date at Aug 2nd which I think is wrong coz I had my day 5 FET transfer on Nov 13th and my last AF was Oct 23rd (which I forgot to tell them). Anyways being twins, they come earlier - yeh?

OMG Twin B put on a show for us and was doing somersaults and Twin A was just sitiing around chillin'. DH had a grin from ear to ear when he could make out their little arms and legs and saw them moving around. Me however, still in disbelief. I am having some weird kind of out of body experience. Still can't believe it. Anyways they're measuring 3.11cms (Twin A) and 3.28cms (Twin B).

I'm staring to feel twinges of excitement and nausea not been quite as bad last couple of days.

Check in again later...

Hi ladies, just bumping us back up the list.

hows everyone doing/ i think we are all nearly out of our first tri-mester, thankfully.

i am going for my nuchal scan and bloods on Wednesday, so the blood results won't be ready for a couple of days, but at least i get to see the babies again, getting nervous again, always do before a scan. i'm sure all is fine, as my clothes are getting tighter!!!

hope you all have a great weekend catch up soon.

Hi ladies....
Hope everyone enjoyed the Holidays, and survived! I was so tierd but made it through!

I am fighting off a sinus infection, and working lot of hours....trying to stay busy hoping time will go by a little faster.......We have our first regular OB appt on Monday the 7th, anxious to see how we are doing.

I am growing, and my clothes really do not fit at all....I went today and purchased some maternity pants....but I was a size 0 before getting pregnant! =)

Sounds like everyone is doing well.......They have put my due date at Aug 1st....I also had my 5 day transfer on November 13th, I think my due date should be July 30th.......we will see what they say tomorrow.

Happy New Year all! I hope you all enjoyed the festive period. I was lucky enough to be off work for nearly two weeks and I spent most of it snoozing on the couch! My husband loves it, lazing around is probably his most favourite hobby but I'm usually suggesting that we do this and go there all the time but not this year, all I want to do is sleep so he just follows suit, the lazy b*gger!

I'm most jealous of you all having so many scans, I only had my 7 week scan and was finished at my clinic. I've been to my normal doctor who has referred me to the hospital I'll deliver in and now I wait to receive an appointment for my scan which should be between 12 and 16 weeks. He said it can take 4 weeks for the appointment to come in (I've been waiting two weeks so far), by four weeks I'll be 12 weeks already. Oh well, I'll just have to sit tight. My doctor mum says everything will be fine as I've got all my symptoms, not had any bleeding, etc but I still want to see my wee one!

Apart from all the sleeping of the holidays we had a few nights out. All our friends know we're expecting so it was nice to be made a fuss of - at last - I seem to have watched so many friends go through it! Like you, Dexter, I had to watch a lot of drunks though which seems to be an interesting new hobby of mine - to a point. Drunk people are so funny when you're stone cold sober. One guy at New Year who I think I've met about 3 times wouldn't stop hugging me, telling me over and over and over again that parenthood was the best thing in the world and that I was going to be a wonderful mother! I was a bit jealous of all the champagne flowing but it's all sooooooooo worth it.

Well, 11 weeks tomorrow which is exciting, only one more week til I'm 12 weeks, can't wait. When are you all telling work, etc? Should I do it at 12 weeks or wait til I've had my scan? I'm looking forward to everyone knowing - it's just friends and family that know so far. I'm feeling huge. I was a gym girl before I got pregnant and I've put on quite a bit of weight with not working out. I'm also mega bloated still, maybe cos I'm slim it looks worse but I swear I look 4 or 5 months depending on what I've eaten! I'll be quite happy when it's a baby that's making my belly sick out but at the moment I just look like I've been eating too many goodies over Chrimbo! I can't wear my jeans (which I used to live in). Is anyone else finding their body changing so drastically so soon? I really had no idea.

Well I'm ready for another lazy Sunday on the couch, will aim for a dog walk at some point, my poor boy doesn't know what's happened to his active mummy, although DH loves it DD isn't so sure! Oh, here's a question to those of you who are past 12 weeks - have you got your energy back yet? And when do we stop taking folic acid? Is it the beginning or end of 12 weeks? Oh and one more, is everyone still off the caffeine? My caffeine free red bush tea I've been drinking since doing IVF is not going down so well anymore and I'm really looking forward to a normal cuppa but am scared of the caffeine.

Hope you're all well.

Hi everyone.
Thought id join this thread as feeling a bit lonely and down in the dumps today. Hope nobody has any objections, i could do with some friends. :)
We are 12 weeks preg with twins, due on 23rd July. 3rd attempt of ICSI, 2xFET. I have a bit of an embarrassing problem and would appreciate some advice and support please. I am suffering big time with constipation and bad trapped wind, its sooooo uncomfortable and is really getting me down. Any ideas? Ive tried eating loads of fruit and veg but they make it worse, remegel, windeze, baths, hot water bottle, lying on my left side, going for a brisk walk!! Im hoping it will ease a llittle now im entering my 2nd trimester?
It does sound like im complaining a lot but Im soooooooo happy about the babies and i would gladly put up with all the discomfort for the next 6 mths if it means having 2 perfect, healthy and most precious gifts blessed to us, but occaisionally i need some relief! HELP!
I have my next scan a week on Monday and cant wait, it feels like such a long time since the last one! Dont the scans help the anxiety, just seeing the heartberats is comfort in itself. :)
Anyway, hope everyone on the thread is having a good day.
Thanks for listening. X X X

Hi Everyone!

Jules- I am so sorry you are in discomfort. I was constipated for awhile in the first trimester and found eating cheerios with a banana in the morning started regulating me and now have a BM every morning like clockwork. You can also try some of those yogurts they have out now like Dannons Activia which is suppose to help irregularity. As far as the gas goes there is no cure for that and have to deal with it as it is part of pregnancy.

Julie- I have been and continue to stay off the caffeine. I drinik decaffeinated tea and stick to sodas like sprite or gingerale. As far as the folic acid goes it's in my prenatal so I haven't had to take a supplement. I started bulging out early as well. I think after the ivf stuff my ovaries were enlarged b/c of the overstimulation so my clothes were tight for awhile. I finally started wearing pregger pants around 11 wks. they were a tad loose but I was so much more comfortable and didnt' care. Now I'm in all maternity clothes and really am starting to show and I'm only 14 wks. I think its b/c of the twins. Also I swear when I hit my second trimester mark last week I started feeling so much better. I started back at the gym! I was so excited. However I couldn't work out like I used to but it felt good to be on a treadmill and was able to go at least 20 min. at first. By the end of the week I was up to 30 min w/o having to stop. So yes the 2nd trimester your energy returns.

Jayne- Good luck on your test. I had mine 2 weeks ago and was really excited how much the little ones had changed. They actually looked like little people!

Everyone else I hope you are all doing well. Like I said I hit my second trimester mark this past week and have been enjoying the extra energy. I still haven't been able to sleep through the night and get headaches and heartburn but other than that I feel good.

Take care everyone,
Kimberli

Hi all, I'm also starting to feel a bit better. Went for a 1.5 hour walk yesterday through the bush - quite hilly and it felt good to finally do some exercise.

Julie - I asked about stopping folic acid after 12 weeks but my ob suggested that I continued to take it as it is good for development of red blood cells.

Glad everyone is feeling fat :D - I am too - I look like I've eaten too much at Christmas too - I'm going to explore some maternity clothes options at lucnhtime - there is a shop near where I work - I need comfortable work clothes to sit in.

I still get ravenously hungry all morning but less so in the evening. Tonight I am going to see if I can face broccoli again in a stir fry - I have eaten it for 2 months - I need some healthy greens!!

Jayne - good luck with the nuchal test this week.
Hi to everyone else - I still have over 2 weeks until my next appmt - feels like forever!

Hi desperado, welcome, nice to have another brit on board especially a twin one, I am due July 21st, so close together. Sorry can't help on the wind/constipation problem, have you tried asking at the chemist? Oh the joys of pregnancy.

Glad everyone seems to be progressing well, and we are all nearly out of the first tri-mester.

I am still feeling very tired, but the hunger pangs are getting better, I have managed to continue walking every week as normal, DH and i walk around 8 miles on a sunday so just been going a little slower. i am also now only able to wear about 2 pairs of my trousers, so i purchased some maternity clothes at the weekend ready to wear over the next couple of weeks. My blouses at work i cannot fasten the bottom button anymore, i am definately filling out and it is more solid now too. well scan tomorrow at 12 will let you know how i get on.

catch you later.
