I just got my results from the nurse. I start my gonal-f and menopur tonight and reduce my lupron dosage tomorrow morning. I have my first bloodwork and u/s appt. this Saturday. I was a little surprised b/c I just called back to ask when we should start taking the Doxycycline and they said "start that today too". I'm glad I called back about that! Geez.

Hi and Welcome Andnichole. Yes my protocol is different than most everyones too. I was on bcp 18 days and stopped it last night. I go in for a baseline and b/w on this Friday then start lupron friday night. On Saturday I do 1 shot of lupron in the morning and at night...and 1 shot of follistim in the morning and night also. That is 4 shots a day. I dont go back till Monday for another u/s and b/w. I am expecting ER on Jan 21st since I know from 3 IUI's that I stim 7/8 days only. I am sooo glad my protocol is a very short one. I dont have much patience when it comes to getting the show on the road. LOL  PS My guess is that you may have ER around the same day as me and alot of other girls on here.

Washingtonda: Fragmentation is very normal. I am sure it is absolutely nothing to worry about. Relax ...smile...everything is going fabulous for you! :D

CT_Michele: Love the baby scan. So cute. 8)

Tali: How is it going? Any new news?

Come on Friday....

Hi all,

Washingtonda I just read your post. I've been reading your posts but not posting  I've been relaxing all day long! My clinic doesn't give a fertility report the following day, they like to wait a bit longer to let people know. They called today but just to check in on me. They will call me back tomorrow afternoon to let me know about the embies...I can't wait! I will let you all know as soon as I can.

Ok ladies, I will write more tomorrow. I'm going back to resting now.

CT-Michelle - the dot in the middle of your U/S is the yolk sac. Next week you will see the baby a little and hopefully the heart beat. Right now, it is pretty much an enclosed spinal cord. The changes in the embryo (still considered an embryo until 10 weeks) are HUGE day to day. I highly recommend a book called from COnception to birth, a life unfolds by Alexander Tsiaras which has photos of the tiny growing one almost daily at this stage (Yikes - don't know how they got them!) Sorry - though I am a grad student, I teach Bio to pay the bills and we happen to be covering embryo development right now.

Washingtonda - My embies were fragmented and one stuck anyway. There is actually not too much research on how fragmentation affects implantation. Just a little is out there, which I have read, and the age of the mother and her particular flavor if infertility clouds the results in my opinion.

I must admit to being a bit disappointed that we only have one little bean. I KNOW that on a practical level it is very difficult and somewhat dangerous to carry twins (can you say, bed rest?), but with such high HGH levels, I got my hopes up. After talking to some fellow ladies that also had high initial levels AND only had one baby AND had OHSS, I am beginning to think that the HGH levels might be linked to the hyperstimulation (so, be forewarned esperenza).

OK - back to work. I have to write a draft of my scientific paper that has nothing to do with babies. Not fun, but it will get me out of school before I turn 32 if I am lucky.

shel or ctmichelle or hellokitty - I forgot to ask a serious, but embarrasing question at my u/s yesterday and hopefully one of you knows the answer.

Um....how long after ET do you have to wait before resuming intercourse? DH is very patient and of course does not want to endanger our little bean, but it has been a very long time
I was told that i am 5w4d pregnant...

TammyS: Thanks for the welcome! I think you are right about you, Colesmom, Neffi211 and myself all having our ER around the same time.

Does everyone who is on Lupron store it in the refridgerator? I looked at the box and it just says store below 77 degrees and since we keep our home at 72 degrees I have been storing it at room temp but noticed that some sites tell you to keep it in the fridge. I don't want it to not be as potent b/c I'm not storing it right, you know?

Andnichole: I was just thinking and wondering the same thing. When I called my pharmacist and asked if any of it needed to be refridgerated when I got it in the mail....he said No. However, I did just remove it from the table by the furnace! Ugh. I cant believe I had it right there of all places. Although, like you it is not above 72. :?

Just wanted to give you'll an update. My little embies are holding their own. I did lose one last night so I am now at 13 but they are taking me to BLAST!!!!. I will have my transfer done on Saturday. They will call me tomorrow to let me know what time.

Please continue to pray that these babies hold on these next two days are are at good cells grades.

They advised that they are a bit fragmented but advised that that has alot to do with my age (38). Fragmentation stims from egg quality.

I am just so thankful that I had enough to chance a blast.

Thanks for everyones support.

andnichole--WELCOME!!!! (I will add you to our list shortly)

About the Lupron, I had it (well, it's still there!) in the fridge. My nurse advised me to put it there because even though it does not have to be refrigerated (like Follistim, for instance) it will be a more constant, safe temperature. Do you know what I mean? she said that some people keep their house warmer or during the summer the house gets warm, etc. so her advice to all of her patience is to keep it in the fridge (just in case!). Maybe you can do the same so you don't have to stress about it.

MLB--Congrats on your little bean. I hear you about the disappointment BUT, hey! I'm glad that little one is in there! thank you about the warning; I'm actually a bit concerned about OHSS, I have the feeling that I will have it because I was such a high responder, I just hope it's not too severe. Do you have it? what are your symptoms? how are you coping with it?

On another note, have you heard from your professor about the post-doc? good luck with that paper. I hear you! I still haven't finished one of my finals :? I don't have the head for it right now.

Washingtonda: I've read in other threads that fragmentation is not as bad as you may think, many women have been able to have healthy babies that came from fragmented embies. Relax, you are on the right track sistah. Are those beautiful embies already inside of you?

Mrs G. --Good to hear from you sweetheart

Tali--I say you cancel that dinner party. I was sleeping all day after my ER. Believe me you won't be in the mood to entertain anybody. Grow follies, grow!

Neffi--YES!!!! how are the stims going? It's a very exciting time :!:
I also just stimed with follistim, nothing else. 5 units of Lupron and 200units of Follistim for 3 days, then 150 for two and finally 100 for like a day or two before they asked me to stop completely because I was a high responder  Too many follies and at a great size. So no worries!

Michele--Beautiful pic. Thank you for sharing with us. IT wasn't too big at all, on the contrary. Thank you!

To my other ladies stiming GROW FOLLIES, GROW!!!!

Lots of baby dust to all!!!! We certainly deserve it.

I'll be updating our list later today

Esperanza -- Just wanted to answer your question. My little ones are not there yet because we are going to BLAST!!! How wonderfull is that.

I have 13 embryos today. They are a little fragmented but are dividing as hoped. I have my transfer on Saturday. They will call me tomorrow with the time.

Will keep you'll posted.
