MLB- Thanks for the info about the embie, I know none of this stuff, and unless I ask something specific at the clinic, they don't seem to volunteer the info.

As far as the intercourse, definitely not a question to be embarassed about. I have asked my dr a couple of times and finally at this last appt. (this past tuesday, which made me 6 weeks pregnant) he said yes to intercourse. He did warn that I would probably bleed and it was completely normal. He told me to rest assured, that at this point, if a miscarry were to happen, it would 100% not be from intercourse. We are both still very nervous about it though. I think I am going to wait just a bit longer, but it has been a very long time for us too (since thanksgiving time).

I would think you are pretty safe at this point, I think my doc would have told me the same last week if I had called and asked, I just waited until my appt to ask though.

I was realeased to my obgyn and she told me no sex for a week because I had bleeding this past sunday. I didn't ask why, but I do know the first trimester is critical, so I'm playing it safe.

[quote="MLB"]I must admit to being a bit disappointed that we only have one little bean. I KNOW that on a practical level it is very difficult and somewhat dangerous to carry twins (can you say, bed rest?), but with such high HGH levels, I got my hopes up. After talking to some fellow ladies that also had high initial levels AND only had one baby AND had OHSS, I am beginning to think that the HGH levels might be linked to the hyperstimulation (so, be forewarned esperenza).
quote]

MLB,
I understand the disapointment, I kinda felt a little cheated when we saw only one and not two embies on the ultrasound. I had high HCG numbers also and I know it had nothing to do with stimming cuz I didn't do that part being I used donor eggs. I was so hoping both of the last 2 frozen embies would stick so they would be born with a sister or brother. Now, I am just so happy that I at least have one good strong embie in there and I know God knows whats best for me.

Washingtonda: Congrats on having so many embies make it this far and being able to transfer a blast! Are you transferring one or two? I think I remember you saying you go to Shady Grove Fertility. I go there as well although I go to the one in Frederick.

Esperanza: Thank you for the welcome! I agree. When I get home tonight I am going to put the Lupron in the fridge for safe keeping.

Hellokitty: How are you doing? I was so excited for you when I read that your embie was hanging on.

schel- my next u/s is thursday, one week from today...it seems so far away, I can't wait

MLB- I know how you feel about being a little disappointed. We were kinda hoping both took, even though we know it would have been tough with twins. I know we can do this again in the future, I just want my kids to be close in age and was hoping and would be twins and we would be done and have an instant family. I know a lot of people in my family were kinda happy it was one, just so it would be easier on dh and I, since it is our first. All I can say is that I am ecstatic that we have one, because none would have been devastating. And now I don't have to split my love and affection, I can focus it all on my one!

Help ladies, I am taking my menopur this evening. My DR office never got to return my call and closed. I thought they said to take 1 amp? of menopur this evening. I never heard of an amp. Can that be 1 ml. That is what my needle is measured in ml. I just want to know if anyone else took menoprur and what there dose was to compare it with. It would make me feel better to know something.. Thanks

Well girls – Count me out this round. We had a really strange day. At the u/s it turns out that the one growing follicle I had disappeared. My RE is not sure what happened. She suspects that I may have ovulated on my own, although I was taking the antagon injections to prevent ovulation. We ended up doing an iui this morning, on the off chance that the follie was still viable. We also have male facture so an iui does not give us much of a chance.

I wanted to wish everyone lots of baby dust and thank you for all your positive thoughts. I will be cheering you all on from the side lines..

We are going to take a break from TTC for a while, we go on vacation in March and we have decided not to do anything until we get back.

Colesmom- I also took menupur, and like washingtonda I took one powdered bottle mixed with my dose of follistim and saline. Everything was injected into the powdered menopur vial, which would immediately turn to a liquid, and then I would inject the mixture.

Tali- sorry to hear about your news. Keep us updated on what you decide to do, we are all praying for you.
