empty sac week 6

hello all,
Im fairly sure this is the end but has anyone had this and then a good outcome? Ive not had my new blood test results back yet but they may not give a clearcut answer as my first was 367 day 12 then i bled loads lost one of twins 5 days later ( i think that is what was happening) Week 5 blood approx 690 was not brilliant but the early scan showed a small sac remaining. However today( week 6) the sac is small for dates and appears empty. I feel I should start trying to put this behind me but am not 1005 sure its hopeless yet. I looked at the screen and couldnt see even anything faint within the sac. this cycle is driving me nuts

Annie, I am not sure if I understood your entire note but from what I did, I would say it's early to tell anything. This is my 3rd pregnancy, I never had any bleeding/spotting earlier, but this time I did. That scared me beyond belief and I thought this is the end. I had an u/s at 6 weeks but it was too early. There was no heartbeat. They did see a sac at 6 weeks but I am not sure whether they saw something in there or not. Who-ever did your u/s, what did they have to say? Another thing I did right away was I got my blood test done to check progestorone & HCG levels. Those are usually a very good indication of how the pregnancy is going. If the results are good, you have nothing/less to worry. The results are available the same day. I hope everything goes well for you. Pls keep me posted.

Thanks very much for replying,
just got the result which is 5000, which i think is about 27 days after. The nurse told me this wasnt good and that it suggests its stopped. Last thursday it was 690 ish one week later its 5000 so its seems to me that its not totally out of the question.
I do know that hcg can rise and take some time to tail off after a miscarriage because its happened twice before. Im just not sure about how much it can rise aftermc and also the other times the sacs came away so it was more clear cut. Am telling myself its over but the numbers are confusing. Compared to yours i guess they are poor

Hi Annabelle -I would suggest don't go by my numbers as my numbers are unusually high, even as per my fertility clinic. They felt for a singleton it's very high, so don't think of it as the norm. I have heard with much lower numbers, pregnancies have been successful. In fact if your hcg has gone from 690 to 5,000 in one week, that's certainly a good sign. Are you sure though it was 690 at 20 days past 3 day embryo transfer. That certainly seems low for 20 days. But the fact that it was 5,000 in a week, is a good indication. What does your fertility center & gynae feel? Did they give you an idea on your progestorone levels?

Hello again,
My place dont test for prog i asked for it to be checked/possibly increased. They said there was no point. They seem fairly convinced that there is no hope, just wiating for 7week scan to confirm loss. Im not entirely sure what number day each hcg test was on. It was a frozen cycle so they had some developing time before freezing then i think they thaw the same day as transfer ( which was 14th dec) I think they said they routinely test day 12 which was nt possible because itwas boxing day so my first test of 367 was day 13 and the 2nd must have been day 20. I think that driving myself mad over details is part of my grief, but I cant help it at the minute,

Hi Annie
I am not sure what to say but I will be praying for you!! Whatever it is, remember, it's not the end of the world [even though it seems like it]. Trust me, it's not easy but we get over it, there is a better tomorrow awaiting us!!
