First trimester gang

Hi there, is it ok if I join you....? I have been feeling a bit nervous about coming over - but I tested again on Saturday and it was positive - so I am hoping the bleeding was just implantation and nothing to worry about. I have been feeling pretty sick on and off and my boobs still feel sore - but other than that I am feeling ok. My first scan is on 11th December - I can't work out how many weeks I will be - do you go back 2 weeks from EC or ET? Becky, I just wanted to wish you luck for your scan tomorrow. Hi everyone the gang is getting bigger - welcome Dolly. Beckym hope tomorrow goes well let us know the outcome. I have not been sick just feel it. Boobs still sore. Vicki pleased your meeting went well, it is better to see people who know exactly what you are talking about. Is everybody still taking the pessaries? Hi guys thanks for the good wishes. am bricking myself about tomorrow!! scan is at 10am. went to see Love Actually this afternoon to take my mind off it - good film! re prescriptions - yes they are free when you are pregnant but you need to get a certificate from your gp which takes a couple of weeks to come through but I think you can get money back from any NHS prescriptions you have paid for since you applied for the certificate. vicki - I met up with an IVF group in my area last month - it's good to meet people in the same boat face to face. dolly - I have counted back 2 weeks from ec but not sure if this is correct - hopefully all will be revealed tomorrow. glad to see you on this side. knew your symptoms were the real thing. dagny - have you got your 12 week scan tomorrow? if so, best of luck updated roll-call for 6 week scans: beckym, rachael - 2 Dec Annette, phil and Lisa - 4 Dec vickib - 9 Dec Dolly - 11 Dec. Hi Becky I have got my 12 week and Nuchal scan on Thursday at 8.45am!! I am really nervous for some resaon. I really don't want to have an amnio either. Has anyone been watching 'Baby Doctors' on Discovery Health? I am finding it quite depressing although some are a success the sadness of a lot of the couples is really upsetting. Hi all, haven't been able to get online as my PC decided I didn't have a modem on Wed night when I'd to scan a letter to Chicago to say the blood samples I'd sent that didn't have a name on them were mine!!! I was tearing my hair out! In the end I got a friend to fax the letter! Welcome Dolly to this side - hope you are starting to ahve all those pregnancy symptoms! Lisa - I'm now 15 weeks today - so am really just crashing in on your thread! Hope you'll all forgive me! Vicki - I too have started getting the Pregnancy and Birth mag and find it really informative. But I only dared buy one after my 10 week scan as I lost a baby at 10 weeks last time!!! Hi Girls, Well, I have woken up this morning feeling really worried. I have done very well so far with my PMA - but for some reason today I keep thinking "what if it is another ectopic". I called the hospital and tried to convince them that it was a good idea to do some blood tests - but they said they would only do that if I was having pain or bleeding. And they also said it was too early for me to come in for a scan (they said I am 5 weeks 4 days - they count back 2 weeks from ET - this didn't sound right to me as I had a day 3 transfer so surely you would count back from fertilisation - but who am I to question the experts!!!). I really feel like a number not a person because they don't seem willing to go out of their way to put my mind at rest. Annette, Phil, Lisa & Dagny - I just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your scans tomorrow. Becky, how are you doing today? Did you manage to get through to an EPU? How did they calculate how pregnant you are - from EC or ET? Hi to everyone Dolly

hi dolly, the ectopic questions is a really big concern especially for us that have had one previously. i was convinced this one was too because i had so much pain. so i had a scan at 5 wks which showed it in the right place. when is your scan appointment? from what i know pregnancy starts from ec, as this is the nearest point to fertilisation. best wishes phil x

Hi Phil, my scan in next Thursday (11th) and they reckon I will be 6 weeks 4 days then. I thought it would make sense to count from the days of fertilisation as my embryos were 3 days old when they transferred them. I think my main gripe is that they didn't try and offer any kind of comfort at all. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt them to give me a couple of blood tests. Anyway, I am trying to put my fears to the back of my mind - worrying about it really isn't going to help me. Hopefully I will feel more optimistic tomorrow!! Love Dolly

Hi Dolly My doctor scanned me at 5 weeks 6 days and we saw all we needed to see. They also told me to count back 2 weeks from ET to find out how far I was. Do you have an EPU you can contact to try and get a scan in the next few days? Some places are really funny about blood tests. I asked for an HCG test as my hospital don't routinely do it but they wouldn't. Like you said it won't hurt them to set your mind at ease considering what you have just been through. I hope you can feel more positive soon and that it will all turn out ok in the end. I am sure it will. I will be thinking of you and watching out for your posts. Take care and take it easy.
