Hello everyone!!

Congratulations Miss Piggy, Mrs B and Sha - can you believe it?!!!
We've also had a baby girl, in fact it was on the 20th November, the last time I was on this website - I was in fact in labour when I wrote the message at 5.30 am I just didn't know it. We went in for the scheduled consultant appnt that morning, and he said he thought I was in early labour simply because I was uncomfortable when he started pressing to find out how the baby was lying. I thought he was mad, I couldn't feel a thing, but we went up to the labour ward where the monitor showed I was having contractions every 2 mins (still couldn't feel them) and then an internal showed I was 4 cm dilated! At this point lots of people bustled round and we were shuffled off to the op theatre for a c section as the baby was still bottom down.

Rosamund Georgina was born at 13h00 - 7 hours after I'd been posting on this website and 2 hrs after my consultant appointment! She was 5lbs 3 oz when she was born but we had to spend some time in hosp.

All well now and we're back home. Will write more and catch up properly on everyone's news in the next day or so. (new baby, pretty hectic, everyone else finding this??!!!)

Wow, we're parents!

LOL

Sha,
I was also at my in laws but clearly by the end of the meal they were all fairly merry as there were no complaints about the dinner table feeding (I did start to head off to the sitting room but they told me to sit down!) and quite frankly I do find sitting in an empty room feeding very dull! I watch a freakily large amount of rubbish tv - I find the cooking channels the best!

Rosamund now packing on the weight and doing well, we've started to get into a little routine and she sleeps from 10.30 to around 4am which isn't too bad sleep wise. Not sure when they go through the night but I think they need to be around 10lbs? Anyone know?

Hope you're all doing well and enjoying your babies - can't believe how much they change in such a short time!

i did nt have this with my girls they b/ fed well.
also he does about 8 full feeds a day instead of five.
he just drinks so much now.
willem is 9 poound now and 4weeks/2 days.

hi girls....Congratulations to ya all......Dont often come on now......Remember me, I was with you last Spring doing IVF..... My baby should be here too,i am so taken away reading this whole thread, Im in tears.
Marcia I was especially crying....I didnt know. I am so sorry. But after the failed IVF, we tried IUI and still not to be. I have kept away from here, trying to move on, its been hard as my babe would have been due now last week.... Over new year time......had the IVF worked and OHSS didnt kill me off.....
We are taking time off, financially and emotionally we cant cope with it, but you girls are an inspiration with your babies......Well done! You have proved it can work!!
Personally though, i dont think i can go thro it..... still so wanna be a mummy, we have been chatting about adoption..... but this is years off from now.
I am glad i came on here tonight, but i am so sad now.....
Sorry, i am really happy for guys but so sad too, you understand huh???

sorry gals to bust in your thread but I saw Nikki'spost and wanted to comment.

Nikki - we go way back to IUI time and then the IVF period. There's been lots of challanges for both of us on our path. I do want to say that I have missed speaking to you on the board. I do hope you are doing well and please, never give up hope, it will happen sooner than you think. My prayers are with you and dh. Would you consider 1 last IVF attempt before addoption? Keep in touch. I miss seeing some of the oldies from our boards. I'm guilty myself with not posting much. I find myself fighting depression over my Jan2007 m/c, knowing I could have had baby boy at about 3 months old right now. Howerver, we have been blessed with another chance. I'm due anytime now but that dark cloud always lurks about. I hope to hear from you again.

nikki, (we were on the March cycle together)

hi honey so good to hear from you, sorry you haven't been feeling to good at the moment, but please dont give up hope, i had 3 iui before going onto ivf, and it finaly worked on the 4th fresh cycle.
we had been trying for 10years, with a year out after 6 as it got too much for DH and I aswell as the money side of things. ther were many time where i really felt like throwing in the towel and facing life without a child in it, i just could understand why it was working for everyone else and not me, infact i hated seeing or hearing about anyone that was pregnant.
i'm not going to tell you it gets easier cos it doesn't but please stick at it for as long as you can honey it will all be worth it in the end.

i still cant believe we have Ethan, i can't help but look at him all the time and think how lucky i am to have him.

i wish you all the uck in the world honey and pray that yo will get that BFP soon you so deserve to become a mummy, and you will make a fab one i'm sure.

take care

:D  :D One Hundred and Four days :D  :D

Hi Guys,

Being on here again makes me appriciate the jouney we have all been on and how lucky I have been that mine has gone on a happy path.

Pepe Juan and Josefina Ana Rubi were born on the 16th October 2007 seven a bit weeks early...... Its been very very hectic but wonderful and now I have two beautiful twins who smile at me and watch me as I walk accross the room.

This time last year I was so scared and sad, trying to be cling on to hope that the IVF would work and now ...now I have my babies and I still can't belive it or imagine life as it was without them.

So heres to IVF and God bless all that sail on her xxxxxxxxxxx

Quita, Congratulations!! and you are so right. Whenever I have a vaguely bad day I am just so thankful that we have our little girl. I don't know whether it makes the sleepless nights, endless feeding and mastitis (3 times!) any more bearable as I haven't tried them without having gone through IVF, but I think it does. I'm certainly more patient and tolerant than I ever thought possible.
Rosamund is just starting to smile as well, so adorable, now that she's beyond the full term stage she's more like a little person and less like a scary newborn. Also now she's doubled her birth weight and is a straping 10lbs I'm a lot less neurotic about the odd smaller feed or going out in the cold.
Has anyone else had mastitis? Its a real pain, literally and becasue of needing to take antibiotics which don't agree with Rosamund at all. Also its difficult to get the milk supply right afterwards, I got it in the first place because R started sleeping through the night and this meant a build up of milk - how to keep the milk going through til the 10pm feed without producing too much over night?? Tricky! Think I'll carry on for just the next month and then start to wind down at the beginning of March, I think it takes about a month to fully stop.

I hope you're all well with your little bundles of joy! All anecdotes gratefully received, I bet none of you has had your baby poo up your nose?!!

LOL
