I just tried a dozen times to get the direct link...I guess I am just not computer savvy enough. Anyhow if you c&p you will see what one of my friends who is TTC found and is really upset about it. She sent them an email telling her just what she thinks.

definitely incredible. Obviously the producers (and Tyra) don´t know how hard this process is, and only want to have a "show" that gives them high ratings. "Obsession about getting pregnant" ...what the heck is that? So thoughtless.

I used to like the Tyra Banks Show, but after a series of disappointments about her clulessness related to issues of weight, race, gender and sexuality I stopped watching. She has said so many ignorant things on her show that it´s not even funny. My only concern with shows like that one is that many people watch AND believe what she´s saying...crazy and dangerous. I think sometimes she creates more divisions among people instead of looking at real solutions that could make a difference.

Perhaps a bunch of us could write them letters to make them aware of their insensitivity and tremendous amount of ignorance. What do you think?

Oh my gosh, this is horrible. I mean, I know I had a bad day, but this got me so fired up, I don't know what to do with myself. I'm all for writing a letter to tell them how insensitive they are. Seriously, unless you have personally gone through what we have, you just have no idea. The worst part is, I read the ad from the Tyra Banks show to my sister (aka fertile myrtle) and she didn't see anything wrong with it. Talk about kicking me while I'm down! I had a bad day today...in case you can't tell. Sorry to vent...

Tyra is getting so many letters. I am on a chat forum for our local area...we started as girls from the Knot.com and then we left there and started a private forum with 60 some girls. There are several of us on there TTC...I am the only at the IVF point, though. Well, 1 of the girls who is just making her consult appt for IVF and has been through soo much already...is just livid. She is the one who posted it...and the other 60 girls on our site sent Tyra emails. Maybe she will get the point. How stupid can she be?

I have never watched her show- just seen snipits on E's The Soup, and she seems a major selfcentered nutcase! -she's and X-supermodel - pretty sure her synapses are NOT firing!

Ms Banks, have you any idea what is is like for some women and men??
There are physical issues at hand that play a huge role in one's ability to procreate and it is heartless of your show to want to profit from the real struggles families are having with conception -
A few issues contributing to infertility are- damage to the female reproductive organs -
age ( a lot more women are deciding to wait to become parents)
male infertility issues such as low motility, low sperm count - to which cancer can sometimes play a part
and these are just a few -
perhaps your show could focus on lifting up instead of putting down -
just because people CAN have babies easily doesn't mean they should - and likewise, just because some are finding it difficult without medical assistance, doesn't mean they shouldn't!
please take a moment to look around at some of the "celebrity" pregnancies -
Jennifer Lopez - pregnant through IVF
Brittany Spear and her sister - "natural way"
HMMMM??? what's better in the long run?- "

Wasn't it not long agon that Tyra was p'd off with the tabloids for calling her fat??
Now she is exploiting women who have no control over their issues.
I don't watch her show and now I don't ever plan to.

Wow, but I am not surprised. Tyra is sooo clueless. It is really embarassing to watch! Obama was on her show yesterday when I was flipping through the channels and I just wanted to barf! She just continues the stereotype that (us ) pretty girls have no brains! Pathetic.

I've got an idea for an alternative show; DO you have a friend that is always saying the stupidest things to as you are TTC; want to tell her how out of place she is for sticking her nose where it does not belong? Call the Tyra Show!

It is a shame people can be so ignorant and unfeeling. I guess unless you go through it you will never understand. It is a bit like telling someone with depression to 'pull themselves together'... Totally inappropriate.

Hopefully if enough of us write in then they will get the message. They are just after sensationalism and expolitation, leave us out of it I say, we have enough to deal with thanks very much.......

I've been reading your posts and I agree totally. People can be so inconsiderate. Unless they are in the shoes, they don't even try to understand. People like that have no empathy or understanding. It's really sad. The sruggles we go through... and she shrinks it down to us being whiny. Give me a break, we are a lot stronger and sensitive than she will ever be. IVF has made us patient, understanding, forgiving, strong, open, etc. Her narrow view is pathetic. People should spend their energy on helping others, not making people feel bad. I didn't see the show with Obama, but I'm not surprised, as I said before, her show has gotten under my skin before. For me, as another person of color, it's tough to hear the sorts of things she has said about race/ethnicity; and as a woman, it has hard to hear some of the things she has presented about body image, weight, and so on.

I'm all for the topic you propose! yeah! ain't that the truth? besides, it would be a beautiful opportunity to educate so many people that don't have a clue about what we IVF women (and men!) go through.

I did not see the show or was able to watch it but I am just in shock that anyone would use this topic to get ratings in such a negative light. My DH and I are having trouble TTC because he had CANCER, the chemo lowered his motility and numbers. I love him and want a family with him but we need IVF and ICSI to do so. So now I am obssessed with getting pregnant? I would love to hear her say that to my face, she is just sooooo stupid, I have seen snipets of her show on the "Soup" on E! and I cannot believe the stuff that comes out of her mouth. What a bad example for all of us, intelligent, beautiful women who desire children with our DHs and will care for them and love them. Do you think Britney Spears would have gone through all of what we have for a baby? Look the way she treats hers...

Riogirl: It hasnt aired yet. It is a form to fill out to be on the show. The girls are telling Tyra to not do the show or change the format of the upcoming show. You should go on and tell her how it is!!!
