I am good tammy, thanks for asking. I am going a little stir crazy waiting for thursday. That is my next u/s when I should be able to see the heartbeat, which doc said is a big hurdle. He said I could have made my appt for as early as tues, but he reccomended wed. or thurs., just in case tues was still too early. He didn't want me to be upset if I made my appt too early.

It's kinda weird, I don't "feel" as pregnant as I did the past couple of weeks. My bb's aren't as sore as they were and my heartburn seems to have subsided. The only thing that is sticking around is that I can't seem to get enough sleep, I am always tired. I don't know if symptoms subsiding are normal or not, maybe my body is just getting use to it all now. To anyone who has already had children, what do you think?

Oh well, thursday is only 5 days away, and we might get a snowday on monday, which would be nice! So I am sure it will go by fast. And ladies, just b/c I am not posting as much, doesn't mean I am not reading, I am on this site constantly looking for your updates...so keep em' coming!

Hi WashingtonDA: Sorry to hear about the roller coaster, but hang in there friend. I found this from the Jones Institute of Reproductive Medicine webpage:

"Preliminary studies with the new culture media in good responder patients have shown that approximately 40% - 50% of the fertilized eggs reach the blastocyst stage. This allows for better selection of the embryos to be transferred and to limit the number of embryos transferred to two in order to eliminate the risk of a triplet pregnancy or higher. The transfer will usually occur five to six days after egg retrieval."

So, as TammyS said, it sounds like it is normal. We usually hear about 3 or 5 day transfers, but several sources that I found name day 6 as a possibility. Yay, now we are going to be true 2ww bodies :P :P :P :P

Michelle--ya know I didn't realize it was going to tomorrow, and certainly not that much snow so much (6-8 inches around here)  DH and I were planning on staying at the hotel one more night (the clinic where they do the ER/ET is about 2 hours from here, so they pay for a hotel) so I could rest, but it might be better for us to drive right back home so we can be here when the storm hits.
About symptoms, when I was pregnant the first time I barely had any symptoms (just REALLY tired...I used to fall asleep everywhere!) AND I have read that most of the symptoms we IVF girls feel in the beginning is from the shots, so probably you don't feel as much because your body is taking over and the medications are leaving your system.

andnichole--they didn't tell me the number of follicles I had during my first u/s b/w. I remember the ultrasound person saying that I had a couple at 10 and many other less than ten that she didn't even bother to measure individually. They pretty much do it to know how to adjust your meds, so don't worry, I have the feeling you will be fine. Did they tell you how much the others measured?

Tali--good to hear from you hun. I'm glad you're feeling better. We'll be waiting for the result on the 21st. BFP!!!! BFP!!! BFP!!!!

Ok, dh and I did loads, and loads of laundry and some serious grocery shopping today. We are nesting!!! hehehehe. We want to leave everything ready for when we come back with our beautiful one inside my belly. We'll be leaving this evening, we'll stay at the hotel so we can relax watching the Patriots win

washingtonda wrote:Girls this IVF stuff is truly a roller coaster ride. Just got back home. 25 minutes into our ride up to the clinic I received a call on my cell from one of the nurses stating that she received a call from the embryologist stating that my embies were still doing good but had not yet made it to blast. They want to wait one more day and do the ET tomorrow at Day 6. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad.

Esperanza it looks like you and I for tomorrow unless something else happens. Im keeping the faith. At least they are holding on. They will call me later with the time that I should be there tomorrow. I do plan to ask many questions when they call back.

Anyone know anything about a six day transfer? Good or Bad.
It's ok and not a bad thing. The last 2 frozen that I had transfer were actually a day 6 and day 7 blast, although RE still considered it a day 5 blast. They must really think your embies are great quality and holding on strong to want to take them another day. I know it's weird, but it's OK. I'm wishing to the best and praying for a great transfer tomorrow! Did they at least give you the option to still transfer today?

Hey there, I want to let you know my symptoms are just like yours so don't you worry your pretty little mama head :D . My boobs don't hurt no more and I don't feel pukey anymore either. I'm not even as tired as I was but still no energy. We both have our appt on thursday so I totally empathize with you. Only 5 more days!

The funny thing is that I don't think it stops with the baby's birth. LOL! then it will be the baby's well being and development, then school, then teenage years, paying for college, and if you are like my mom, worry about them because they are having a hard time ttc. LOL!

oh, we have to keep our sense of humor, right?

Esperanza- Beautiful picture...the one of Teddy Bruschi of course! I am with you tonight girl! Go Pats! Ya know, the only outfit I have for a baby so far is a pats sweatsuit, and the baby will wear it boy or girl! It has been in my closet for years. I am going to my husbands christmas party tonight, which they always do in january, and I am hoping to leave in time to get home and atleast see some of the game!

Ladies, I know what you mean about not feeling pregnant. I never really did but now I too only feel tired with a little chest soreness. I never got sick and after reading that the sicker you get, the less likely you are to miscarry - I was praying for some serious bathroom time! My friend had IVF last year and now has a healthy baby boy and, sadly, she was really nervous until month 8!! I think I'll be able to relax after week 13. Hopefully. I really want to enjoy this time but....

I didn't take notes on who was interested (sorry), but they didn't tell me how many follicles I had EVER and I ASKED. I think you get better reading the ultrasounds as time passes, though. They upped my meds 4 times and after the first U/S, I only had about 4 on each side. I ended up with 25, but only 12 were mature.

Since I had 25 - I was hyperstimulated and had some of the symptoms of OHSS. The whole list of symptoms is:
weight gain of greater than 3 lb in one day
sudden high fever
sudden vomiting
difficulity in urinating
very dark tea-colored urine.
If you have any of these symptoms, you should call your RE's office immediately. They can drain the fluid with a needle and you will feel better. (I didn't do this, but my friend did after she started vomiting and it made all the symptoms go away)

My OHSS symptoms went away ~ 3 days after ER, BUT they came back the day before the two week anniversity of ER. The nurse said, "If you get pregnant, the swelling will return." and it did. Now they can see it on the u/s and because of that they don't want me to run or lift weights. They OK'd both activities until they saw the continued swelling. Hopefully it will be gone on Wed when I go for the next U/S.

Esperenza and Washingtonda - TAKE IT EASY tomorrow. Let DH pamper you and try to relax. I was told not even to do computer work or think about work at all if I could help it. No idea why.
Melissa
