hey 21 Bat- thanks to you, too! must have been posting at the same time-
I actually just called my folks -talked to my dad very candidly about it all - and he was definitely more understanding -once I let him know - he just thought it was not really that big a deal as it's so common now ---I was like IT'S NOT COMMON TO ME!!!! :o then he got it!

my RE tried not to tell me about the progesterone shots - she said, "don't worry about those - we can talk about them later..." so I was suspicious and asked her to give it to me straight! that's when she mentioned 2 months  but hey- I'll be into it for a BFP

alright- now seriously, I need to work on plumbing!

Man gals ya'll are on it this morning. I promised myself I wouldn't even peek b/c I have sooo much cleaning lazy me needs to catch up on, but then I was close the computer and checked, and then read through a hundred posts!! So I will make this quick!

21bat: Before I even pull the needle out of the bottle I look for airbubbles. I usually can see one go in. then I turn it so the bottle is on the table and push slightly so the bubble goes back into the bottle draw up a bit more. That way I don't have to worry about losing any meds

Loopie: I am sorry about your family. My well intentioned family did so many hurtful things last IVF I decided to keep this one underwraps. I love your idea of sending the pic of meds  that's great!

rkronlund: Welcome!! This is the best place to be for encouragement and info!!

I will have to look up the name of the vitamins I am on. Ok - back to cleaning Good mornng to all the girls I didn't say hi to!!

Vitamins...

Ok I am taking Nature's Plus Source of Life Prenatal. These were easier on my stomache than some cheaper ones I have used before. Every time I go on prenatal I have very soft stools. Nothing to do about that! The prenatal vitamin has 800mcg of Folic Acid, and I combine it with an additional 400mcg Folic Acid supplement. I take it around lunch time every day. I will try the fresh pineapple after ET as that site recommends

Rio: So glad AF went away! I was looking forward to a light period, but I guess that won't be the case.

Monday I stop the bcp and then wait for AF! Time is flying. I hope I can have the ER soone rthan the nurse predicted. I really don't want to be in my 2ww on my anniversary  I think I will be a POAS freak if that is the case!

  As I was looking at my prenatal vitamins I just read that I am supposed to be taking two  a day!! Oops. I am glad I looked. I just assumed it was one a day like my other one!! I guess I will start taking two a day! Thanks ladies for making me look!

Dawn: You still there? How is everything going for you?

Hi all.
I started down reg meds yesterday. At my clinic i insisted on a scan because i have been feeling uncomfortable and my boobs hurt. I have a cyst on my right overy apparently this creates certain hormones but my nurse assured me that the down reg meds would shrink it. So lets hope so.

Loopy. My family and friends are the same. I prefer to just read these posts because they provide more answers. My sister has 3 kids and doesnt really understand. And my mom visits rarely because my dad fell out with me over a family row. But DH is supportive so i dont bother telling them anymore.

waitingformia I never heard that pineapple thing before. But ill certainly give it a try when the times right.

Hi everyone,

loopie, sorry about the family, I know the feeling...glad you got to speak to your dad about it. It's hard to believe some of the stupid thoughtless things people say and do...family or not.

My turn to vent a little. My immediate family has been very understanding about what we (mostly me) are going thru. Our infertility (mostly mine) is due to tubal issues, nothing wrong with DH. Well, I really feel we were lucky with our first IVF and please don't get me wrong, I am VERY happy with my Gracie. If she is all I ever have, than so be it.
We are trying for another baby with FET, I am almost 37 and I feel that if I don't at least try now, I will always wonder, what if? And besides, it is OUR decision and OUR business, right?
Well, my sister in law (gotta love those inlaws...) decided to blurt out in the middle of dinner (while DH was away from the table -- conveniently) "Why can't you be happy with just Gracie??" Understandably, I know this is how a lot of people look at my situation, which is why I don't talk about it much, but my sister in law has 3 children under the age of 6, and she is so fertile she gets PG just looking at a man's penis.
Why did she have to say that? What would that comment truly accomplish? Fighting my urge to smash her face into her chicken parmisan, I just gave some kind of short lame reply and got up from the table.
Thanks for letting me vent. I am going to do my best to avoid her until after my 2ww.

Looking at everyone's dates, I can't believe how fast everything is approaching!
Think positive everyone!

From:RBJean (aka Rkronlund)

Beth: Sorry to hear how insensitive and quite frankly, inappropriate your sister in law's response was. I'm not sure how I would have handled that, but probably less classy than you did.

21Bat: I had quite a bit of bruising during my 1st cycle, although not until the end of the stimming. They faded rather quickly so probably nothing to worry about. I even showed off these "battle scars" so that my family could appreciate (just a little) what I was going through.

TammyS: Thanks for the encouragement. Glad to hear someone else is on the same protocol as me. I'm so glad this one should go faster that the regular lupron protocol! Let me know as you get a little further into the stim meds how the side effects are. I'm a little nervous about this fast and furious cycle. I didn't have many side effects during my last cycle but maybe that's because I wasn't responding properly.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.

Dawn: I hope that cyst shrinks right up! Shrink cyst shrink!

Beth: Wow! That sounds like my family! I really told all my family I decided I don't want kids. It was the only way to get them to shut up. My mom never wanted me to have kids (She feels they hold you back) And fertile Myrtle (my sis) just tells just enjoy not having kids! Ugh!

So is like every celebrity pg right now? I swear everytime I look at a magazine it is with some actress and her big pg belly! Well it will our time soon enough  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and rest up!

1st timer! Starting Lupron tomorrow

Post by Marin »

Hi all,

I am new to all of this. I have been reading your board for a while but am just getting started myself tomorrow! Its nice to know there are so many people going through the same thing.

I am 36 years old, my DH is 37. We have been TTC for about 2 years. After 1 year, we started Clomid and IUIs which we got BFP the first month! Very exciting but no embryo formed and I had to have a D and E in Jan 2007 at about 12 weeks. Since then, we have continued Clomid and IUIs 6 more times with no luck. My RE is amazing and he recommends IVF now for us which I am starting tomorrow. My nurse (who is super nice but talks WAY too much) is guestimating ER first week of feb (6th,7th,8th) and transfer 3-5 days later.

I got the HUGE box of meds this morning and spent a while sifting through the pile. I decided to keep my sanity to just take things one day at a time so I put away all the other stuff out of sight until its needed. I have a small box of Lupron, needles and alcohol out, thats it. Its less overwhelming that way for me. I am pretty good at denial as long as its out of sight!

I have a strong desire to keep all this confidential between my DH and myself. I have not told anyone else about this. So, its nice to be able to talk to other women about this without any wierdness from people I know.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estradiol scroll down for a graph

Sorry some of your girls are having trouble with your families :( my mother in law knows and over Christmas a kid was misbehaving and she asked me like 10 times "are you sure you want to go through with this?" YES - DAMN IT! but I bit my tongue. It sure would be nice if everyone put ther sensitive caps on.

My cyst is a Corpus Luteal. Does anyone know much about them Or has anyone ever had one?

Good morning!
I did my 1st shots last night- it was just fine, but after the follistim, I got the needle in for my menpur, but my hand was shaking so much that I couldn't push the plunger, DH helped!!!!! I was so proud of him - he's a real trooper
It really wasn't bad at all -
hope you're all doing well
