Anyone doing study with Dr Foulk in Reno

Hey I am just wondering if anyone on this Board is doing the study with Dr Foulk in Reno? I am excited and I am just curious as to if anyone has any more info than me. Plus then we could go through this together!

It is a progesterone study. I don't know a ton about it. I just know that my 1st embryologist got my name on to do it!! I am very excited!!

Progesterone studies are pretty common. I wonder if he's trying Endometrin versus PIO?

The only thing they really told me about it was that it was a new brand trying to say that they are just as good as any other. Also they said that if I ended up pregnant I had to go back 2 times for meds, I would assume that was for the progesterone. It is a duramed study! Maybe that will give you more info.

I did a progesterone study with DR. Foulk in Reno a little over two years ago. I love Dr. Foulk. He is a great doctor. I was part of the control group and used Crinione(I don't knoe if I spelled it right) gel. I now have a beautiful baby boy. Good luck and you are in good hand with Dr. Foulk.

That was Ferring's Endometrin study. There were three groups in that study - Crinone once a day, Endometrin twice a day, and Endometrin three times a day.

I found you. I am in the study too here with Dr. Foulk. I would love to go through this with someone in my situation as well.

Rich and I have been TTCing for 3 years now. We have been married for 13 years and Just moved to the Boise area from Wyoming in April of 2007. I have done all my blood work, water ultrasound, regular ultrasound, and then I got the call from the office on 12-31-07 that I was going to be in the study. It freaked me out a bit because that was the first I heard about it and she didn't quite fo into detail. I thought she was telling me EVERYONE at here had to go to RENO period. AUGH. I got off the phone crying. Then the next day got the written information that we met requirements for a study. WHOOO HOOO. That was a bit of a relief. Now to find out this works.

I have my Plan of Care/ Sperm backup and financial appoitment on 1-31-08 and I am due to start my BCP as soon as AF shows up. I am on CD 23 and my cycles usually go about 25 days.

I posted on my Blog that you left a mesage on. I joked. Maybe we can carpool to RENO. LOL

I am so glad to finally find someone doing this. You at least got a packet. The way I found out, was a little bit weird. I have gone through IVF once with Dr Slater/Dr Richards in Utah and it was a negative round. So I was thinking that I wouldn't probably be able to do it ever again. Then out of the blue my embryologist called me and he said that he had put my name on the list for a study and asked if I had heard anything. I hadn't so he checked back with Dr Foulks office and they were out to lunch and so he called me back and said he got reading my information and realized that I had had more than two miscarriages. He thought that might have been the cause for not making the cut. Well I went to work and like 20 minutes later he called me back and said he had called Reno directly and that he had them fax the list and my name was on it!! So I was really excited to have the possiblity of doing IVF again at a fraction of the cost!! So I called to Reno and she said that I would have to contact the girl that was over it in Utah and that I would have to go to Reno for 4 days and if I get pregnant that I would have to go back 2 more times. So that is all I know about it. Do you have any more info. I talked to the lady here in Utah and she just told me to contact her when I started AF. I know that I will start BCP after AF comes. But she has not been cooperating. I am 40 days and I am usually 32-34. So I am paranoid now. I took a test this afternoon, fully expecting it to be Negative and there was the slightest lightest line. So I will take a test in the morning and go from there. I am not holding my breath though, with only one tube and it is blocked, I have my doubts. But weirder things have happened. Good Luck!!

You women are so lucky! I have twins that are 4.5 months old thanks to Dr Foulk and Slater! all I can say is I love them beyond words and literally owe my family to them! He is such an amazing Dr. and I deeply respect him and any study he's doing.

Kari ~ So Sorry I spelled your name wrong the first time. Whoops. Yeah the office called me then sent a letter with notification that I qualified. Only 4 days left until I have my Plan of Care. So many emotions are going on. IVF costs enough on its own. What if it doesn't work? What do I do then? not sure if we can afford to go rounds with this.

PS What does that stick say today? Faint is hope. keep that hope.

Kimberly ~ TWINS wow. How many did you have transferred? Dh and I have Male factor that is why we have to do IVF/ICSI. Everything with me is great though except that I love to have short cycles 25 days. Dr. Foulk assured me that is fine as long as I am ovulating and we know I am. Love your ticker. Have to figure this one out here. I have FF down packed but this is new. he he.

It is so nice to meet you all. never in a million years would I have thought I would have someone to relate so closely with during this time in my life. It is nice to have the support on line but to know someone is going through the same study or doctor gives me a lot more faith in our decision to do this now. Thank you.

Ok so I am in shock! It still says pregnant! It is slightly darker than yesterday! I mean this is simply amazing. I will just keep the positive vibe that it will be ok. It actually all makes sense to me. The other day I had a really big blowup and just ended up crying. I have been very emotional and big time cravings. Which I was just attributing it to AF coming. Anyway, have a great day!! I will keep you all posted.
