FET in Feb!!!

Post by baby_or_bust »

Hi girls ~ I had my first IVF cycle in Sept - ended in a chemical PG. Then I did FET at the end of Nov/Dec - again got PG and ended in a chemical PG.

The RE did karyotype testing on both my DH and I. His results came back as normal - still waiting on mine to come back.

However, I am on BCP - starting Lupron tomorrow and scheduled for FET on Feb 7th.

Anyone else want to join me???

Good luck,

Donnell

Hi Baby or Bust!
I think we were both on the same board for our last FET. We too have decided to give it another try in Febuary. On BCP now, so the waiting begins once again!
Just curious..what is karyotype testing? I have a return visit appt. with my RE next week to discuss my new protocal, and I asked her to go through my chart and try to think of any other testing I or DH should have. So far we are just unexplained...
Glad to have you again to go through all this!! Hopefully this is our time!!

Hi Donnell, i just had to reply to you, have you been tested for blood clotting disorders? as i a have had chemical pregnancies and was found to have factor V Leiden, and one of the associated problems is early miscarraige/chemical pregnancy. On my last FET i took 75mg aspirin every day from ET and am now 13 weeks with twins and all going well, i will continue on aspirin until week 34.

I wish you good luck, and hope this is the one for you.

Hi girls,
best of luck to you all.
I, too, am scheduled for FET on Feb 8th! We also have 4 frozen, we are thawing all of them and transfering the best 2 or 3.

Forgive me for my ignorant question, but what exactly is a chemical pregnancy? How is it different from a miscarriage -- if it's different at all?

Hello everyone!

Beth ~ A chemical pregnancy is a very early miscarriage. One that is confirmed by a blood test, but never confirmed through U/S. Welcome - I saw there were some other threads with combined months, but I get overwhelmed trying to keep up with everyone.

Barbarella ~ My baseline is the 18th. Looks like we are all doing everything around the same time frame. I am nervous, but it is hard to keep from getting excited when the time is getting closer. Looks like you will lead the way...!

Beachbaby ~ Thank you so much for replying. No, they haven't tested me for clotting disorders. I asked them about it and the nurse said the RE doc doesn't believe in that? He just did the karyotype testing. He has put my on 81 mg of asprin, which I start taking after transfer. His protocol includes the asprin everytime. Do you think I should insist??? Congrats on your healthy pregnancy and twins, wow how wonderful and exciting, that gives me some hope. Again, I really appreciate you popping in.

FaithHopeLove ~ Yes, we were on the same board together with our last FET. Karyotype testing is where they take blood from both me and my DH and test it for chromosone abnormalities. (sp?) Ours came back normal and I started Lupron Friday. He wasn't planning on testing me for anything - just start protocol again, but I have had 4 chemical's this year and I told them I wanted to know what is going on. I still don't have any answers though. :( But going forward with FET and praying anyway. I am with you sister - I hope it is our time also!!! I wouldn't mind two by the way but would be extremely blessed with just one.

Have a great weekend ladies!

Hi everyone! Glad to see our thread growing!!
Well, if I estimated right I think my FET will be around Feb. 16th which is a little bit later than all yours. I have an appt. with RE Tuesday, and I'll know more then. Wanted to see about implantation testing, and she said there are hundreds of different implantation problems! Soooo, not sure what she'll suggest. I had a pregnancy once what did implant and was visible on ultrasound, just no heartbeat. Blighted ovum they called it. Ok, so I'm rambling.
Hopefully we all have Thanksgiving babies in 08'!!
Talk to you all later!!!!!

Thank you baby or bust for explaining that. I remember with my first IVF when I got my postive result, some people told me not to be happy yet, wait for the 6w ultrasound to make sure it wasn't a chemical pregnancy. I was like, what?? Just another thing to worry about. Sometimes too much knowledge isn't the best! but thank you.

Faith,
Implantation testing? I have never heard of that. So your RE said no to that?
And this is your second attempt at FET? How many totsicles do you have? We have 4, and if this doesn't work (which it WILL) I don't think I can go through another IVF...it is draining, financially and emotionally! One day at a time, I guess. No, you are not rambling, I find all of this so interesting, although I am sorry about your bloated ovum experience. That will not happen again!

FET Feb!

Post by Barbarella »

Hiya everyone...

mmmm having a few technical problems, cannot get my head around the replying!
Hope you guys are all well!
Donnell - I like the list you did - You seem to get lots of info in USA, I feel we are behind here, which is strange as I have my embies put back in Bourne where the very first test tube baby was made, you would think we would have lots of info, but they dont tend to tell us. When i had the embies put back he said rest for half an hour then off you go. Lots of people in USA, tend to have bed rest.

Here in uk we are not told take aspirin....I am going to ask about it on wed and see what they say. After my last IVF BFN, i never got a chance to talk to the doc so I have no idea why the embies didnt stick, do they look into it for you in USA? The doctor had no slots to see me before my start for FET. I am wondering what I could do to help things this time around. I had better write my questions down as i will get all flustered when I go wed and forget to ask...

 I love these little blobs...this is my fave!

Well the sand man has been time for bed! Gnite all x

Hi girls! Just a quick hello before sleepy time. My youngest sister had her baby this morning at 4:27. I made it to the hospital 10 minutes late. She had a beautiful baby girl. It is somewhat bittersweet though. My sister found out she was pregnant the same day I did earlier last year. She wasn't even trying and I was going through IVF. I M/C'd and she delivered. I am already in love with my beautiful new niece though.

Barbarella ~ I only get info because of researching on the internet, friends I have made through the boards and making my RE stop for a sec and answer some of my questions. He is always in such a hurry and trust me, I get flustered too and forget what I want to ask him. My RE doesn't really require bed rest either. Just relax the first day, then off I go.... Good luck with the RE Wed if I don't post before then.

Beth ~ I know about sometimes knowing too much! This whole thing has made me an expert, but also a little crazy I think. I over-analyze everything and if you all stick around, FaithHopeLove can attest to this - I will be peeing on everything like crazy after transfer. I am an admitted POAS addict. This is also my 2nd FET and I wasn't sure I could emotionally go through this again, but I look at my DH and he is such a wonderful man and husband, I can't seem to give up trying yet. But you are right - this is going to work for us all this time!

FaithHopeLove ~ Good luck tomorrow. I've never heard of implantation testing. You will have to share with us when you get home. Remember, I am the neurotic (sp?) one. I didn't estimate when our due dates would be. My DH and I will have our 8 year anniv in Nov ~ I think a baby would be a perfect gift for both of us!

Good night girls and will check in later!

Good Morning :D
Well, I had my appt. with my RE this a.m. It went well, I asked about additional testing a couple weeks ago, and she went over everything in my chart with two additional drs. and they are "stumped" and said I definetely should be pregnant. Pretty much a mystery! The only thing they could think of is testing for chromosone abnormalities. Being that I had a m/c before they may have been caused by chromosone abnormalities, I am glad they are checking. I guess if there are abnormalities they don't implant or implant correctly anyways.
Oh, for everyone that wanted to know about the implantation testing I mentioned, she said there's one you can do on a natural cycle, and they scrape a bit of the endometrium (sp?) off and test it to see if it's normal/abnormal. I think they test to see if it contains certain cells?? I guess I'm not having that test right now though.

Baby or Bust
I do remember you "peeing all the time" last cycle , lol. (I think we all secretely do that... :D ) Yay! So November will be a good month for a due date for you! Our Anniversary is December, so close enough right??

Beth
Yes this is FET #2 for us, we have 3 lil' frostie babies left. I know what you mean about the financially/emotionally draining part of IVF. Not a penny was paid by our insurance unfortunately. It would be great if even the meds were covered!! For the emotionally part, I am so glad we are all in this together!!
Have a good day everybody!!!

Good day all!

I was just wondering what kind of meds all of you are on...
I seem to be totally exhausted and a little cloudy in the head this time around. I don't remember feeling like this from last time. :?

I started out on BCP, then lupron, now estrogen patches and lupron. I can barely get out of bed in the morning!

babyorbust ~ congratulations on becoming an auntie! you are a great person and sister to feel that way, especially with what you have gone thru. How are mom and baby doing?

barbarella ~ isn't it amazing how fast they rush you thru your appt. and out of the office? I, too, get flustered and it's a good idea to write things down first. I can't believe the doc has no time to see you b/4 your FET!! Are the nurses at least good at answering your questions? Mine are! They are really helpful and understanding.

faith ~ you "stumped" the doctors! Isn't that comforting? If you should be pregnant, then they should Make it Happen!!
Sorry for the sarcasm...I really am weary of having to put all of our trust in them...what stops them from ordering test after test just for the $$?
How will I know that my frosties actually did survive the thaw? We have to trust them.
ug, the negativity is settling in....
I really am trying to stay postive , I think my hormones are getting the best of me.

good luck to everyone this week.

FET Feb!

Post by Barbarella »

Hi Everyone

Had my Baseline this morning and all is on track...Yippeee I was dreading it...I treat each step as a hurdle and I have jumped my first one. My next scan 29th Jan.

Beth - I am now on Nasal Nafarelin and estelle HRT tablets tomorrow. I have been feeling really tired just on the spray. I am hoping the HRT tablets cheer me up a little. Keep Happy. Don't let those hormones take over.

I called UK IVF Hospital to answer my questions today, as the look of the nurse today wasn't welcoming. It gets me angry as we are paying a lot of money for our treatment. Not like mainland UK they get 1 treatment Free!

Donnell - Congrats Aunty Donnell. Good Luck for Friday! I will be thinkin of ya! :P

Good luck everyone..keep jumping those hurdles!

FET Feb!

Post by Barbarella »

Hiya Everyone
Donnell - How did it it go? Have not heard from you hope all was ok with your baseline. Have you been busy being Aunty.

Beth/Faith/Donnell -I have been thinking about acupunture for a while, and have decided "What harm can it do!" so I am going for my first session tomorrow, I hope I can fit a couple of sessions in before I am due to go for FET. Has anybody else had it? Apparently, it helps the blood flow to the uterus and helps to thicken the lining.

Hope everyone is doing ok...

Hi Everyone,
Just checking in to see how everyone has been the last few days.

Barbarella-Bet you're glad to have your baseline done, I don't care for those either :? Like you said, every step is a hurdle!! I've never done accupuncture, let us know how it goes!!

Beth- right now, I'm am still just working on my BCP. I will be on Lupron, Estradiol injection twice a week and progesterone later on. Same protocol I had last FET. So far I haven't had to many side effects...maybe low patience, lol.

BabyorBust-How's Auntie business?? I am Auntie to my brothers kids 12,9,6,and 6 months and they mean the world to me!! Congrats!

Me and DH had our chromosome testing yesterday. Takes 3-4 weeks for them to get them back so we'll see how it turns out!

Have a good weekend everyone!!
