Hello Ladies,
It is nice to hear that some of you are already in the nesting mode. I am not into one at all, at least yet :? I can't even bring myself to make a list of what i need when I go shopping for my baby...

We did, however, decided on the furniture, we are getting the whole set ( crib, that turns into toodler's bed and then later into full bed, dresser, hutch and entertainment center) from babys r us , the brand is baby italia, I think that it is a pretty good price and I am planning on buying her furniture only ones and it has to last her untill she is 18 years old, so that is why we decided to buy the whole room. We just need to go and actually buy it, since sometimes it takes 6 to 8 weeks to recieve it.

Other than that, I have not really done anything domestic yet, I just finished up this "what to expect when you are expecting" book , it took me forever !!!! I just can't imaging reading "what to expect the first year" now, it just instantly puts me to sleep!!!
Well, I am glad that everyone is doing great!!!!

hello all,

Glad to hear everyone is doing well if a little swollen and uncomfortable. I'm about to leave for my 24 week check up (yeahh, made it!!). It's amazing how much more confident I am now i can feel my little ones moving about all the time.

We went to a multiples class on Saturday and I totally recomend it if you guys have one offered. It was great to meet other twin mummies/daddies-to-be and we learnt so much. They took us through the delivery options (still leaning towards a C section), then discussed PTL - signs to look for and then what happens in the NICU should it be necessary. The afternoon was partly focused on breast feeding two babies - that was so insightful and I totally recomend buying a feeding cusion called EEZEE something (will look it up and let you know). The regular Boppy pillow is too small for simultaneous feeding but this one is large and angled inwards towards the body to prevent either baby rolling off. They also discussed pumping milk and how that side of the things work (I didn't realise how little I actually knew). The rest of the day was focused on the help we may need (or should ask for) - did you know that of the 160+ hours in a week 125+ of those will be spent purely on changing and feeding our twins!!! Yikes, we need to get the freezer filled and our pride to ask needs to be put aside! they also talked about the comments we get which was funny and interesting and some great ways to respond. I don't know about you ladies but I am getting fed up with people I don't even know asking if we had fertility treatment. I'm also sick of hearing how small I am and whether I am sure there are two babies in there (no I just made it up for fun!). Apparently the insensitivity and stupidity gets worse when they're born! Anyway, if you get chance to go to something specifically for twins or multiples then it's definately worth it.

It was also good to see everyone at different stages of their twin pregnancies and the differences between people was amazing. Some ladies were so much bigger than ladies at the same week so it just shows you there is no set protocol. Almost everyone in the class recomended prenatal massages and swimming (or immersing in water) so I am going to try and find a swim suit that covers the lack of attention given to the bikini area (how you are supposed to reach that I'm not sure!).

ok, have to run, love to everyone

Hey Girls...

Well, I finally cut my karate teaching down to 2 days a week (from 3) because I am just SO BIG I can't "keep it up" for 12 hours anymore. I am sure 2 days will still be rough but I don't want to put my replacement on until I get some of the requirements with my higher level belts taught to them.

I cannot believe the width of my legs by day's end!!! Today I did a lot of sitting (and tomorrow will be even longer sitting due to training of our teachers) and the fluid seems to pool just above my knees all the way to my calves and feet. I also keep feeling this little boy kick the heck out of my cervix to the point where I feel my girl parts get pushed out (sorry - tmi). I have my next OB appt next Monday the 21st and I want her to check my cervix even though I had a growth scan last week and it was 39mm. I am just so big with so much pressure and now getting BH contractions too.

OK - so this might be way tmi but are any of you sometimes peeing a little in your panties? I get an urgency at times and before I get to the bathroom - boom... I don't even feel it but I see it when I get there  I keep drinking because that's what we're supposed to do (though I don't remember anyone pushing this drink, drink, drink thing when I was pregnant with my son...) but it makes sleeping really tough and sometimes finding a toilet takes some strategic maneuvering during the day.

WC... I just don't understand people sometimes. You know, I have learned that even if someone disappoints or hurts me that I have to be respectful that they have feelings too and I most often I will work my feelings out internally - then I often find out later that they are/were going through something painful and needed some slack. Does it make it right that it happens? Maybe not, but it makes it human and I remember that saying that to err is human but to forgive divine. I do have a strong faith/belief in God and when we say His prayer we ask Him to forgive us as we forgive others so if I hold a grudge and don't forgive then I am just as bad... so I say seek your motive and if its selfish then keep it to yourself which is what 'sis' should have done all along... ESPECIALLY now that you're pregnant and fulfilling a life long dream!!! She should be happy for you!!!

I am getting convertible beds too but I didn't think about the fact that they are white and I am having a boy too... I have just been so paranoid about buying a set without bite bars on the crib and so many of those new sets don't have that plastic bite bar on the top of the railing. In fact, they are pretty fancy on one side (the side that doesn't slide down) and the babies can bite right through the wood when they learn to stand during therir teething months (which by the way lasts a long time).

Well, I am hoping I make it to week 30 1/2 but we'll see... I will let you know how I am progressing in terms of working f/t.

Hello guys,
Rebecca, don't worry about your size and don't listen to those people. i am over 24 weeks and everyone is in shock that i am that far because my bump is very very small. I think that most women are bigger at this stage, so people are just surprised at my size.
I am gettig my baby furniture in dark cherry color, i think it will be a nice contrast with cream colored walls. We are not going to paint the walls because when we bought this house it was brand new and painted light cream colors inside with white trim, so i am going to get stensils( spelling?) and just do some buttefflies and flowers on the walls.
Are you guys going to paint the walls in the solid baby colors?
Woodcliff and Cocoa, i am so sorry your ankles so swollen, I guess there is just no remedy for that one, except a lot of rest with your feet up :D
Good luck to everyone!!!!

I'm not finding out what I'm having so we painted the walls yellow a couple of months ago!

Don't have any furniture yet but I am definitely going for the convertible cotbeds. Not sure whether to get them now or wait until a few months after they are born. Because they will be in moses baskets next to our bed for the first few months right?

My DH put my little car up for sale yesterday! So once that goes we are getting a 7 seater MPV. It has seats which fold into the floor so is handy because he is in a band and often has to take lots of equipment to gigs.

I've also started buying a few bits and pieces like baby grows and sleep suits.

There is a nappy bin on sale this week in asda. It wraps the nappies in cellophane. There are going to be plenty of dirty nappies so a dedicated bin seems sensible. Anyone know anything about these?

I had another look at the iCandy Pear pram at the weekend and it really is great. We're definitely going with that one as it's so much smaller and lighter than everything else I've seen.

Hope you are all having fun!

Hayley xx

I had my first appointment with my daughter's future pediatrician. Very nice lady, gave me all kinds of reading material, also i recieved a free diaper bag with a bunch of goodies in it, and it is actually a very nice bag, black, small and very classy, I think. Most importanly it is free :D :D :D !!!
Wow, that was so wierd to type "my daughter" , I can't believe I actually did it!!!

Ladies I have to start this painful subject: how are you coping with excess hair? Waxing or shaving? Did you noticed any change in the amount of your hair during the pregnancy or even when taking those hormones before?

I noticed while on Follistim and later on progesterone a lot more hair (especially on my face). I wax my lags and I have nightmares lately whenever I know that time of the month is coming. But lately, I also noticed that my facial hair is kind of thiner and lighter.

Hello,
Croella, I usually shave my legs and I had lazer removal done on my facial hair before I got pregnant, now I can't do lazers due to pregnancy.I shave my legs every day , so I am not sure if it grows more now, I think a little bit more...
I have my glucose test tomorrow, kinda nervous , I hope I don't have diabetes
