Hello Unexplained and welcome to our thread! I too am a poor responder and just finished my 2nd ivf - well did not make it to completion, converted to iui.... your post of 15 follies give me hope :)

I don't have much advice about the pink eye. I would contact my primary care and just let them know that you are in the middle of an ivf cycle.. if they prescribe something, I would check with the RE to make sure it would be OK to take it.

I wish you success in your 3rd attempt.. lots of baby dust...

xoxo

Blondzella - Good luck!!!

All I need some words on encouragement. For some reason I'm having thoughts that this isn't going to work for me. As much as I ttry to stay positive and I talk to those embryos everyday, that thought just don't seem to stay away.

Is this normal or could it be my body trying to tell me something.

Help!!

blondzella wrote:Good evening ladies.

With the transfer they indicated that I should have a full bladder...a friend mentioned to me to delay peeing as long as possible...has anyone else heard of this? Cause I am thinkin that when u have to go u have to go....but I dont want to flush my lovely embies....

Well off for a nap...

take care and here's hoping for positives!
Blondzella--good to hear from you. With my ER they put me to sleep. It was so good! I remember getting to the OR, getting the oxygen mask and next thing I knew I was next to dh in the recovery room. Sorry to hear yours was not so easy. I did feel like a whale afterwards, I'm feeling better now, but still "not fully me"

About the full bladder, yes, they want you to have it that way because it moves the uterus in the "right" position for the transfer. Don't worry, you won't flush your beautiful one down the toilette. In my case, they let me lay for 15 minutes, and then I could get up and go home, just like that! the RE told me "if you really need to go to the bathroom, we can give you a bed pan, you don't have to hold your urine. Some women think their embryos are going to fall out, but you don't have to worry, your embryo is safe in your uterus, it is not going anywhere" ....her words were so comforting that I just went straight to the bathroom as soon as I left the transfer room 8)

Hi ladies -
to esperanza and washingtonda - hang in there during this 2ww! wishing you lots of baby dust and bfp's! keep up the pma! remember, pregnant until proven otherwise!

I got back the results of my thyroid test and everything is A-okay...so, I go for my baseline testing and 1st shot on Monday, then it is a long protocol for me...I'll probably end up having to join another board because you will all be on the pregnant after ivf boards by the time I start!...:D :D :D

wishing all the wonderful women and DH's out there all the best on their journey, lots of PMA and baby dust! :D

Welcome unexplained! All I can say about pink eye is that I work in a school and when the kids get it they are sent home and not returned until after a day or two of antibiotics. It is highly contagious and I think can only be treated with antibiotics. I would definitely talk to your primary and fert doc.

Blondzella- I went with a full bladder too. They said it was much easier to get those embies in the right spot. I peed in the morning when I woke up before I went to ET and then I started drinking water until the transfer. I did have to go real bad, but I waited, and after laying on the tabel for ten minutes, I was allowed to get up and go. And don't worry, there is stil an embie in me so it didn't go down the drains!

Washingtonda- Crazy thoughts are completely normal. Just try and find something to occupy your mind, maybe some puzzle books or something. I know it is hard, but during my 2ww, I was happy, then sad, I thought things were good, then bad. i couldn't control it, just tried not to think about it.

Gotta run to school, talk to you all later!

washingtonda, esperanza, blondezilla: Sending lots of baby dust your way!

My Dr. ordered more Gonal-F and Menopur yesterday so that I can continue stimming. Although I guess if the results don't start perking up tomorrow (seeing more than 3 follies) that they still could cancel this cycle. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can continue on and I am just a slow responder.

For anyone that has used/is using Gonal-F and Menopur what is the typical dose? Also, I have been meaning to ask, where does everyone take their sharps container for disposal with all of the needles they have used during their IVF cycle?

WashingtonDa -Try to have positive thoughts. I am sure what you are feeling is normal. But remember the power of positive thinking.. :D

andnichole - Glad you are still going.. grow follies. I was on Brevelle and Menepour and they had me on the max dosage of 8 amps a day.. You can get the sharps boxes at any pharmacy.. You can also use a 2 liter coke bottle as long as you get the proper disposal sticker for it.. that is what I used.

esperanza - How are you feeling? thanks for asking about me. I am doing OK.. trying to stay even minded and not have unrealistic expectations. I was not feeling well last night, having stomach cramps and my dh says maybe your pregnant.. and I told him that I don't want to get my hopes up and get really disappointed.. The cramps are probably signs of AF.

blondzella - I am sorry your er was hard. Wishing you all the best for ER.

Amy - Good to hear from you. Good luck and happy stimming when you start..

Hi Everyone, I had my u/s and b/w this a.m. My u/s showed over 25 eggs 19 are at least 10 to 13mm. DR will be calling this evening. They think I will be going in this Saturday or Sunday for ER. I have to be very careful no lifting or putting my hands over my head because of the egg quanity and I`m a small framed woman. Never the less, I am thrilled to be finally here. :D I pray my progress stays the same and I will have some healthy follies...

Hey ladies thanks so much for all the positive vibes. Today has been a tough day for me.

Got a call from my nurse and none on my 7 embryos were able to freeze. I asked if they all made it to the blast point how was this likely. They told me that they wanted to watch them for a few more days on Sunday.

The nurse state either they were not good enough quality to freeze or that they didn't continue to grow. How could this be.

Now I'm wondering than how good was the two that they did transfer. I am pretty frustrated and upset today. I'm suppose to go back to work tomorrow and don't feel up to that either. I thought this was supposed to be a happy time and I truly feel horrible about all of this.

I'm having no symptoms at all and just dont know what to thik of any of this. I had 13 fertilized embryos yet none left to freeze. :?: :?:
:?: :?:

hey WashingtonDA--Please, please, please, DO NOT LOOSE HOPE!
First of all, you are not going to have any symptoms this early, so stop looking for them. Not even women who get pregnant "au natural" get symptoms until much, much later (the first "symptom" is not getting their period, the rest follow weeks later).

Second, I'm not a scientist, BUT, I do know that embryos can not develop into full babies while in a dish, they need a warm uterus to host them. SO, most likely your embies were at that stage where they needed to either be frozen or in your belly. Maybe they waited for too long? my take is that the ones in your belly are alive and kicking as I type (and that is because they are in a safe, warm, natural environment, not in a cold, artificial lab).

In my head you are PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise!). It sucks not to have any frozen embies, I would be devastated too, BUT don't give up on the ones that are growing inside of you. Deal?

washingtonda - listen and take the advice of your friends here! what you are feeling is completely normal and of course it makes you wonder why the other embryos didn't make it to the freezing point - but, instead of concentrating on the negative part of your current ivf journey, you've got to think positive about and take care of the live embies snuggling in inside of you right now. they need you. and you have to ask them to give you the chance to be a great mom to them.
I've been through ivf 2x so far and have never had embies make it to the freezing point, but was always so thankful for those that I could transfer.
you might not have any symptoms, but you know that you've got something wonderful and miraculous growing inside of you. try to concentrate your energy in that direction, okay? promise?. thinking of you!

to colesmom - best of luck with ER on the weekend! take the doctor's advice and all will go well. don't be surprised with so many follies if you are in a bit of pain in the days following ER, that will be normal. Enjoy your shot-free day before ER!

to esperanza - best of luck to you! when do you test? what are you doing to relax and keep busy during this 2ww? take it easy at work! thanks for inviting me to hang around --

wishing you, blondzella, andnichole, tali, ct_michele, schel, and everyone in the midst of tmt & baby scans all the best! xx Amy

Washingtonda-
First of all, freezing and unfreezing the embryos is the hardest thing for them to go through. Alot of embryos do not make it through freezing and many don't make it through thawing. No matter the quality of them.

The embies they put in you were good quality and they have an excellent chance of surviving because they were put back into their habitat. You are going to be okay sweetie!

I have had days where I didnt think it worked and I've been terribly depressed. Then I have days where I think it did and I run to the store and buy booties. I also have days where Im just so scared that I cry. It's hormones and I think it's a good sign. Please stay positive so that you don't stress out your embies!

CTMichelle-Thanks for giving us advice and hints. I'm so happy for you!

Colesmom-WOW! That's a whole lot of follies, they retrieved 13 from me and I'm still sore! Wishing you lots of baby dust for Sat.

Esperanza- I feel the same way you do. Crampy and bloated. I talked to my nurse earlier and she said I'm cramping because the ovaries are swollen from all this. So it's fine.
