beth, i was given extra tests after my two miscarraiges, and this flaaged the clotting problem. Also i asked the embryologist the grade when we were discussing the embryo's right before transfer.good luck
Sonu, so glad i helped dispel your worries over a 2 day transfer. 2 and 3 day are the most common in the UK, not many clinics do blasts. good luck.
Joanie, good luck, i have never heard of a transfer without ultrasound, how do they know where they are? i Have a kinked cervix and transfers were always difficult, without ultrasound it would have been a disaster. i also only paid $2000 plus meds. Good luck to you.

I was wondering if I was just over reacting or overly suspicious about the fact that they don't use ultrasound for transfer. One of the nurses in the clinic didn't even know what I was talking about....scary. I really appreciate all of your answers.
I checked other places in my area and they all do ultrasound transfers. You
ladies have helped me make a very important decision.

Also, what have your doctors said about exercising before IVF/FET?
As I've written this somewhere else on the board:
"Exercise is detrimental to women undergoing in vitro fertilization, suggests this study of over 2,000 women. Researchers from Massachusetts found that women who exercised 4 or more hours per week for 1 to 9 years before attempting IVF were 40% less likely to have a live birth (OR 0.6; CI 0.4-0., almost three times more likely to experience cycle cancellation (OR 2.8; CI 1/5-5.3), and twice as likely to have an implantation failure (OR 2.0; CI 1.4-3.1) or a pregnancy loss (OR 2.0; CI 1/2-3.4) as women who did not report exercising.
More specifically, women who engaged in regular cardiovascular activity had a 30% lower chance of having a live birth (OR 0.7;CI 0.6-0.9) than women who were sedentary. Even walking was potentially detrimental."
This is an excerpt of an article that my OB/GYN gave me just last week when I inquired about walking. His collegue wrote this article. The article was entitled: "Exercise and IVF may not mix"
I know that my OB/GYN is really strict once his patients become pregnant especially those under the circumstances of IVF.

Joanie-
Well, I did have an ultrasound transfer for both IVF tries, BUT, have positive results re: empty bladder vs. full bladder. The first time, my bladder was full and I was in a lot of pain. When I told them that, they said "Good... that's how you're supposed to feel right now". Well, the transfer was AWFULLY uncomfortable, and I had problems 'relieving' myself after since I waited so long. I was running every few minutes to the bathroom right after the transfer. I am convinced that has something to do with why it didn't work. The second time, my bladder was not full. The doc complained a bit, but I was much more comfortable, and did not go to the bathroom for a while afterward. I just rested, and felt more at ease overall. I am 10 weeks 1 day along with my little tyke as a result
Lots of luck and baby dust to you.

Thanks for your response. Did you do a FET or a fresh cycle the 2nd time? Also, did you eat any pineapple the first or second time during your 2ww (is that just a myth)?
try8~ thank you for posting that information, I have heard that before. I stopped my work outs before I started all them meds.
joanie ~ eat the pineapple! myth or no myth, I chowed it down my first cycle!
shari ~congrats on your BFP -- how exciting for you! Stay rested, and enjoy your pregnancy!
I remember the agony of the full bladder! To make it worse, my DH was making me laugh!!
baby dust bunnies to all!!

2nd IVF: 6/08: BFN
3rd IVF: 11/08: BFP! B/G TWINS born July'09
Thanks... no pineapple either times, but if you heard good things about it, it can't hurt . I had a fresh cycle both times, because I didn't produce enough eggs to freeze any. But I've heard success stories with both. I'm sure if frozen embies didn't 'work', they'd know that already and would not do them so often. Think positive! I wish you a healthy pregnancy very soon...
