my immune testing results....need support please

Post by Faina205 »

hi, everyone. had a follow up appt w/my RE for my immune testing. not good news. my husband and me are 100% DQ alpa match, which means that our genetics are practically identical, and conceiving together will be very difficult and the body is not producing protection for the embryo due to similarities between us. It also has caused other antibodies activation in my body, and all the autoimmune testing came back positive. Meaning my body is treating the embryo as cancer. I have been suggested to try on my own with IVIG($4000 treatment might need to be repeated several times based on nk cell activity)though given only 30% chance once get pregnant or use a surrogate or sperm donor. I am upset to say the least. Was a mess when just found, and now have to rethink the whole cycle and what to do. anybody else heard of this and had any success? Thank you for all your girls' support. i am completely confused now, probably will cancel this cycle and try later once decide on finance issues

Faina,

Wow, you ARE having a really bad day. I'm pretty new to this whole process so I don't understand everything you said, but I wanted to let you know that we will all be here to support you and to say prayers for you. I know that it's hard to think clearly right now. Give it a couple of days and I'm sure the light will come.

Hugs & prayers for you!

Cathan, thank you for your good prayers and support. I am beginning to clear my head now. I def will try IVF w/IVIG w/ our own eggs and sperm first. I just got reconnected with a friend who works for a great company which covers IVF up to 6 times. so we'll see if he can help me get a job there, and ease the burden. i hope we can conceive on the first try w/IVIG, but most likely will need several tries. there might be a light at the end of the tunnel for me after all.
Good luck on your cycle!!!!!!! lots of babydust your way!!!!!!

Hang in there, things will get better each day, I'm sure of it. A new job & a change of pace might be nice....especially if you can get coverage for your IVF!!!! That would be awesome!

Best of luck to you!!

OK, this is my first post and I am not sure if I am doing it right....I am doing my 1st IVF in February, so should I be in the February/March cycle discussion group? I start Lupron next Thursday.

I have a question for the folks who have male factor infertility...do any of you have low morphology? My hubby's was 7% WHO standards. Any have any success with IVF w/ ICSI?
Me: 30, Maybe Ovulatory Dsyfunction (?)
