Doing IVF w/out ICSI

Has anyone done IVF w/out ICSI even though their DH sperm strict morphology is low < 5% ? or did half and half ?

hi md2008

having never done any of this before, but dh with low morphology, we will be doing IVF ICSI this week as it is our best chance at a BFP

what would be the reason not to do it if your dh has low morphology?
In regular IVF, they put a bunch of sperm in with the egg, and let the little fellas duke it out, but if they are oddly shaped, they may not be able to penetrate the egg, then all of your hard work growing them and taking all the meds could be in jeopardy.

Talk to your doc -there are a few women on this site who have done half and half as well

My RE said to go straight for ICSI

We don't have male factor issues but we are doing ICSI regardless.

My doc said he will probably do half of them with ICSI. Just depends on how it is going.

we have morphology as well.. and we're doing IVF/ICSI for all that we get. Not to that point yet.
