Tammy: Just sleep through the shots! Turn over and then BAM good night! Nosebleed? Well I am sure it has to do with the aspirin. Have you checked the side effects of your meds??

Suga: This doc says 2 days bedrest. My last one said one. I say make it two if you feel more comfortable. It is common to have light bleeding after ER, so I wouldn't worry. Glad the PIO are not bad! That is comforting. Fingers crossed for 1/31!

Katie: Sorry you are bloated That stinks. Has there been any improvement since ER??

Rinnie: So If ER is 1/28 then HCG will be 1.27 so I have eight more days of stimming? Sounds right I guess. I had Lupron for a week before I started stimming I thought it was kinda long...

Hopin: That is soo scary! Yikes two of you havehad to go to the ER! I sthis common? I will definitely be chiggib the gatorade? ANy certain time I am supposed to drink it? Hope you are feeling better soon!

Same old same old here. Gonal f and Lupron in the evening. ER on 1/28. I went to a friends house tonight and she made shark (one of the things we aren't supposed to eat. I know I am not pg, but I wasn't sure if it was ok to eat and I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I ate half of it and told her I had a huge lunch... man it is tough to eat right. Lus she had wine - we ususally share a bottle. I had to keep pouring hers and she was wondering why she was so light headed and I was sooo sober . Ok must sleep! Night ladies.

sorry to hear some of you are feeling sore after er hopefully it settles for you soon. if your still like that or getting worse after et it is a good sign of a bfp after my last cycle with Ds i gained 7or 8 kilo in a matter of 2 or so days which was to do with the OHSS it was hard to breath and move and i could only manage to pee a teespoon a day at the most so i can definately sympathize with you so but it does get better so hangin there drink lots and get some rest i think when you get to the point that you cant pee any more you should be inb hospital so keep an eye on it Let DH run around for you over the next few days. for those who asked yep light bleeding is common after er so don't panic

as for me i start stims tommorrow morning i hope if not it will be tuesday i have an appointment tommorrow to collect my meds i'll be asking what day i should take as day one due to the funny start i had does anyone know how much difference it makes if you don't get it right

Mia: If your ER is 1/28 ...then your HCG shot will be 1/26. Typo or your doc does things really different? Normally they will instruct you to take it 34-36 hours before scheduled ER. I like your idea of just turn over and sleep through the PIO shot. LOL

Rio: So sorry that you are feeling so bad. Get some rest and get better soon.

Jomae: Be sure to ask your doc about the meds and when to start them. Everthing is based on timing and usually does matter when you take them.

As for the nose bleeds. I did some googling. If you cant tell it is my fav pastime. LOL Apparantly surges in estrogen/estradiol can cause nosebleeds... the baby aspirin makes it worse too. I found out that nose bleeds are very common in pregnancy for this very reason and so if I am having them now...I can expect to have them all through my pregnancy. Oh well.

Rinnie- i do acupuncture, too - she does not usa a lot of needles, she uses "moxa"on me quite a bit- but she did a needle right in the belly last week- pretty intense - I love it -and it's a great way to center myself, and feel really connected to my body when there's all this weird stuff happening inside.
Hopin how's it going- you had ER, too how're you feeling now? - are you doing ICSI?

me- so I had another BW/US this morning- wow they even work on Sundays!!! all was good- 10 biggies, and 5 little-ns and some excellent news on the BW-( it was back in less than 2 hours!!!) my estradiol level on wednesday was 63- booo, Friday was 207 yay, and today was over 500 yippee!!! so even though I don't know what that really means, I am happy b/c the REs are!
I am finally beginning the Gannerilix tonight,and they've upped my dose of Menepur to 150 -looks like 24or 25th for sure for ER

Has anyones bloating got worser after ER. Mine is SO bad I have gained 5 pounds and my stomach is huge. Im still peeing regular so I guess im ok. I also have really sharp pains through my stomach every few minutes. They dont last long but its almost like a painful growl. Im not hungry and im drinking gatorade. Anyone know if this will affect ET? Thanks ladys for your tips I am extra cautious b/c this is our first go around and I dont know what to expect. The paper from the hospital said go home and rest and return to regular dudy the next day. There is no way im so bloated and Blah. Just want to know if you all have had this experience. Looks like us three that had ER this weekend are all feeling yuky.

Katie- There may be nothing to worry about, however Please call your doctor- I know one of the big concerns (for your health) can be excessive water retention - Seriously, if you have gained 5 lbs in the past few days- you may need to be on medication - you don't want to put you and ET at risk- call them TODAY!!

I agree ...call your doc right away. You sound like you have the beginnings of OSHH. If you catch it quick enough I think it is better than if you dont. Let us know what they say.

ER Ladies: I'm terribly sorry to read about all the pain and bloating. Please take care of yourselves. Rather have DH's take care of you. You are all in my thoughts. I hope that your embies are growing healthier, stronger, and bigger every minute!

Mia: DH left just a few minutes ago. I'm sad, but then not really. I really think I'm going to be a tiger while stimming. And I can finally have some down time from all the harrassing calls from the stepkids and his ex. Aahhh...sweet silence I am keeping the apartment in Sugar through February. But I will probably go home about 5 days after ET. How are things on your end?

Question: How many of you are going to be doing PIO shots yourselves? Obviously DH won't be with me and although I have a nurse coming to my house to do the trigger, I'm going to have to either do the PIO myself or find a day nurse. I'm trying to build up my confidence and would like to do it myself, but who knows

Hi Friends!! Well the nurse called to tell me that 15 of my 23 eggs fertilized. Great news of course--- I told her im soo bloated and gained like 5 pounds she didnt freak out or anything she said just rest. I will call the office tomorrow and make sure. My pee is not abnormal and I didnt gain more weight then yesterday so hopefully its just Bloating from ER.

Does anyone know about gatorade and IVF. I read to drink it if you have mild or moderate OHSS but someone mentioned she heard not to drink it while do IVF. Oops ivd drank a lot since yesterday just in case please advise.

ER ladies: is all this pain common? I don't remmeber having any pain after ER. I am planning on going to work the next day - what do you other ladies say? Have you experienced any of these side effects? So sorry you girls are having to deal with this

Weezie: I might try to give the PIO to myself if dh is busy. We'll see. How much does it cost to get a nurse to comeo out? At least you will have some relief from the witch!! Are you working??

Do you ladies watch the weight you carry after ET?? I weighed my books and laptop I take to work each day - um, almost 20lbs! Is that too much? How much weight is ok to carry?? Those roller bags aren't practical b/c there are lots of stairs at work Any ideas? Also, when should I start drinking gatorade? Still trying to drink lots of water, but its hard when you aren't used to it! Anyone going the massage routh instead of acupuncture?? Ok lots of questions...

Wow, lot's of action this weekend..
Riogirl...4 great ones, that's perfect. I too am wondering already how many to put back in. It's really difficult, especially if it's the first time...you have no idea. I had no idea ER was so tough...they don't really fill you in on that.

Waiting for Mia : A week of Lupron is long, but maybe because you're under 30. The Lupron suppresses ovulation so i would assume older women would need less suppression & more FSH.

Tammy & Loopie : I love the acupuncture too..it really relaxes me..he puts a couple of needles in my head as well. But Tammy, the anesthisiologist at the clinic is a licensed acupuncturist ( he's been doing it for me) . He says that studies have indicated that only the session directly before or after ET has been proven effective for helping pregnancy. The others are ok for relaxing etc. but an extra long session of 1 1/2 hrs in length before or after really sends the rush of blood to the uterus lining and relaxes you.
So that's probably only about $150, so you may want to try it. You should get a recommendation from your doctor & make sure it's someone who specializes in fertility. Can't hurt.

Loopie : lotta follies...that's great!. I have to start asking my estradiol levels too.

Weezie : Sounds like peace and quiet will be good! I did read somewhere about somebody doing her own PIO shots. It was called Diary of IVf on the web somewhere. She said it wasn't as tough as she thought. I'll have to cross that bridge too..DH may be away a couple of days.

I have a question for everybody... I was getting over a cold with just the remnants of a cough when I started stimming. Then all of a sudden the cough has worsened again...really annoying. I read in the Menopur sheet that 2% of women had worsened cough & several more had respiratory issues....did any of you get anything like that. I have 3 more days of M & then hoping cough dies down again...do not want to be coughing after ET.
Really worried me until I read it was a side effect. Also read what exactly Menopur is..yikes...who would have thought!!

One more question for those who've done this before...5 days after ET I may have to take a long airline flight. I will ask my RE but wondering if you have discomfort then or if you knew if flying was banned?

Wow you guys have been busy today!

I can't believe some of you that had ER this weekend are feeling bad!! i thought it was no big deal

Hi guys
had my appointment this morning Doc said it didn't matter whether i was on day three or four of af so thats one less worry I started my injections to day i'm on 300iui for four days and then 450iui for for days i have to go back tuesday to see how i'm going boy the gonal pens have chaned there so much easier to use than before less mucking around I have the dreaded headache starting already
For those experiencing the pains yep the discomfort i had got worse about two days after ET and continued for badly for two weeks maybe a little longer can't remember specifically i do remember needing to sleep on a reclining camping chair we had for two weeks straight i was unable to lay flat they do recommend you sleep slightly elevated if having trouble you should probably see about being on the baby asprin if you are so bloated also oh another thing try not to have too much salty food which will also make you reatain more water.

Hey Rio if you get time can you add me to the great list you have made I have an approximate ER date 2/2/08

Mia i think around 7 kilos is ok which is why i'm alittle worried about DS who is nearly 12kilos and the need to pick him up
