Anyone got pregnant after five or more tries?

Post by Angela37firsttimeivf »

Need a bit of encouragement (yet again). Am on fifth try after 2 IVFs and 2 FETs. We had 3 embryos transferred this time. Of course am scared of the triplets scenario but thinking it's more likely not to work at all. Any success stories on FET after multiple attempts? Cheers.

Hi Angela. It worked for me on number 5. I Had 2 fresh cycles, 2 frozen and it worked on the 3rd frozen - so here's hoping it's lucky 5 for you too. My dr said it was their clinic's practice to take further steps after you'd had a total of 10 embies transferred with no success. On my successful FET it was either embie 7 or 8 which did the trick. Wishing you lots luck and hope it works this time

Hi, this is my 5th attempt at ICSI, I am now nearly 26 weeks pregnant, :D we had 1 fresh cycle, then 2 frozen, then another 2 fresh cycles, and have 2 more embies in storage ( hopefully never needed) Don't give up! We had said this was goingto be our last attempt, if it didn't work we would buy a horse!!!!! I think because my mind was different this time, it may have helped! ?

Hi Angela,
After 2 IVF's & 2 FET's, I'm finally pregnant from the 3rd IVF(5th time I had embryos transferred). I know it gets discouraging but keep up the positive mental attitude. Good luck on the FET!

Wow thanks for all the encouragement and congratulations to all you preggies!

Hey Mandy, I would get the horse anyway! I know what you mean about changing your attitude. I've started not focussing on it all too much and getting other interests, like I'm looking to sing in a band (bit incovenient if I get pregnant I suppose) but I suppose my point is that I've stopped putting my life on hold.

Joanie - I heard it was her 8th try. I think JLo is supposed to have got preg with twins on IVF too. So yes, all very encouraging... Good luck!!!

Angie - wow, that is interesting, I will mention that idea to my clinic. If this one doesn't work I will have had a total of eleven.

Cheers everyone, Angela.

I am starting my pineapple tomorrow. My FET is on Feb 18. What do you all think about Evening Primrose?

Joanie74~

I noticed in your last post that you said that you were going to try pineapple. Before you do, please read this.

Usage: There is an old wives' tale floating around that pineapple juice will help a fertilized egg implant. However, pineapple juice is not recommended for use in TTC and/or pregnancy. In large doses, it can cause uterine contractions and bring on spontaneous abortions (miscarriage).

Recommended Dosage: Drink only in small quantities, if at all.

Food Sources: Pineapples.

Side Effects: Large doses may cause uterine contractions, miscarriage, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, very heavy menstrual periods. Unripe pineapple is poisonous, causing excessive diarrhea.

Good luck to you.

Pineapple can Harm??

Acapulco,

What is your source for that information? I always think it matters where you got information from, because there are many Web sites with no factchecking at all. And to me, it matters if the source is an organization as reputable as the APA or ACOG.

Regarding the pineapple (Bromelain), I read it on another forum posting on the APA website.

I would hate to see any dangerous effects happening to anyone. Better to be safe than sorry.
