New to this board - 2ww is awful

Post by PK »

I'm new to this site. 34 y.o., been trying for years with no luck:
6 months clomid
5 IUIs with Gonal-F
One failed IVF
On second IVF, had 2 embryos transferred last Friday and waiting is awful. One was 6-cell and other was 2-cell (late fertilization naturally, anyone heard of this?). Only 2 eggs retrieved (poor responder) and both fertilized.
Paranoid about the hot tea I've been having lst few days, but otherwise resting, no caffeine, etc.
My Dr. said the 6 cell would have been A/B rating if my ET was later in the day (7am on day 3) so it didn't have enough time to divide.
I hope this works this time, I need some good news.
Test will be 1 Feb.
Anyone heard of day 3 transfer of one 6-cell and one 2-cell?

Hi PK. Yes I agree TWW is awful! I'm 4dpt, and on bedrest. These boards are the only things keeping me sane. I work from home but keep sneaking over to these boards whenever I feel any twinges, cramps, etc.

To answer your question, I myself had a 6 cell transfer on my second IVF. That resulted in BFN. I didn't have much choice though since there were only 3 left and we agreed with RE we'd take our chance. I'm sure it'll work out better for you.

What is your current protocol? I'm on my 3rd IVF, different RE and different protocol.

Hi goosemis,
Well, first protocol was normal protocol with microdose lupron plus Gonal F (375) and Menopur (150) - with extended stimulation. This resulted in only 2 eggs on ER, with one fertilization, 3 d ET and BFN.
This time, we got rid of the lupron, kept gonal f and menopur and added clomid 200mg and added antagon once leading follicle was around 13. This resulted in the same, 2 eggs on ER, both fertilized although one was called "late fertilization" though this was natural - no ICSI. So we transfered both a week ago Friday. Yesterday had some minor bleeding, or spotting really, but now it's gone. That didn't happen last time.
Just want answers - you know?
What was your protocol?
I too, feel better by reading stories from others.
Good luck to you too.
