lupron

Post by Marin »

Hi all

So far I feel fine just on the Lupron but does anyone know how long it takes to get af on Lupron? Its been 7 days now and not a twinge in sight so far.... I am getting impatient.

I hope all the ER superstars are feeling better as each day passes. The worst part is over and you are so much closer to ET and BFP!!

So far it seems to be getting better! Staying in bed has really helped with the pain and whatnot. I hear this is more common (OHSS) in patients who get a lot of eggs removed. They say to drink ONLY Gatorade after ER if you had a lot of eggs. So I have been drinking more of that since I did not have too many eggs but because I had the OHSS. Tonight I had a little spell of nausea...is this normal? It went away after I made myself eat...I have not really had an appetite lately.

My progesterone shot was interesting tonight. I dont think my husband went straight in thus I do not think it went into my muscle. So he rubbed the bubble out that was under my skin so hopefully that does something. I hope it does not count as missed night on the progesterone?? Anyone know about this? I double my dose starting on the 25.

Mia – My RE seemed to think all my discomfort was “normal” I have been on Vicoden cause I couldn’t sleep. I don’t think it had to do with the ER but with the fact that my left ovary (which produced more follies) was swollen… He said to keep a heat pad on it. I would plan on taking those days off and if you are well enough to work, awesome! Hopefully your ER will be a breeze :) Can you have someone help you carry books for you so you don’t carry too much weight after ET?
Jomae – good luck with stimms it really is not that bad, if yoo are on Menopur, just ice it before.
Tammy – sorry about the nose bleeds :( hope they go away
Loopie – thanks for the vibes! Awesome number of follies! Good job! Grow follies!
Katie – my bloating is horrible, tender and painful, I am having a hard time eating too because it pushes on my tummy. Just on stimms I have lost 10 lbs from not being able to eat much. Call your RE if you are worried, better safe! Good job on the eggs!!
Weezie – glad you get a break from the ex. IS dh going to come take care of you after ET? I don’t think I could do the PIO myself  , a nurse would be a good idea
Rinnie – good luck with your stimms, hope you get over your cold soon!
Marin – hope AF comes soon!
Hopin – how are you feeling? Any reports?
Suga – sticky vibes! How many did you put back in?

ME – still feeling yucky but hopeful for tomorrow' ET, hopefully we will have news of 4 gorgeous little embies tomorrow, we haven’t decided how many to put back in yet, depends on how they developed. Thank you for all of your positive and sticky vibes!

RIo: Yeah that is good to know. I will just plan on being out 2 days. Good luck tomorrow with th ET will you be having accupuncture?

Suga: Glad you are getting some relief! Did the needle go in all the way or do you think he did it at an angle? the needles are pretty long so I'm sure he made it into the muscle. Next time tell him straight in. You can practice first on an orange or something.

Marin: I start the Lupron after AF, so I am not sure.

21bat:Maybe the pain depends on the # of eggs retrieved. LAst IVF I don't think I was told how many were taken out.

Rinnie: That makes sense about my Lupron. And thanks for the ingo about the acupuncture. I was wanting to do only one session, but wasn't sure if I needed more. Can you actually feel an effect from it? Like after a massage or is it different? In my last IVF I flew back home from overseas aroud that same time, and the RE said it was fine. It was difficult not picking up my baggage though. Of course mine ended in a BFN, but the RE said it would be fine.

So listen what happened to me tonight. Dh and I called up some good friends to come over for dinner tonight. They are kinda like a second pair of parents for us. A little after they arrived they said ok, what'e the big news. And I was like what do you mean. And they said we know you have some news. It took a bit to convince them that we had no news, and then they confessed they were sooo sure we were going to tell them we were pregnant tonight  ok that plus my friends dream about me having twins (when neither my friend, nor this couple know we are doing treatments now!!) is really psyching me out! I am taking it as a good sign! Ok, I need to get my beauty sleep :)

Hi ladies
Mia i'd take it as a good sign twin girls would be sweet or one of each heck even twin boys would be a blessing i think the idea of just having twins would be great a lot to handle but how lucky so yep take it as a good sign and go with it did you end up telling your friends that you are going through ivf now and how they may have just jinxed you a great big positive heres hoping.

I don't know about the ohss pain being related to the number of embies being retreived i only had 9 and i had it quite badly lets just hope everyone recovers really quickly.

Thanks rio its not really the stimms i worry about its the time after the ET thats when i usually am most uncomfortable and i'm not on menopure which by the sounds of it is nasty thanks for the good wishes. i hope you start to feel better soon small meals is meant to help also. goodluck for tommorrow

Hi sugabeanz i hope your next pogersterone shot goes smoother for you

Hello Marin sorry cant help you with your LUPRON question but hopefully Af visits soon

Hi Tammy hows things for you any more trouble with the nose bleeds

Lupron Day 21

Post by Sage »

Marin

I also started Lupron on day 21. The last time it made me an entire week to the day late. My RE's office said that it was common. I think that if it had been any longer they wanted me to come in, to either skip the period or take something to get it.

I began Lupron last week and am hoping to get AF on Wednesday...no signs yet, and I usually spot of 3 days first....

Good luck to everyone who is going through ER or ET. I am anxious to hear how everything goes for all of you. Especially how many embryos you transfer.

Hi all can anyone tell me if they have been suffering from hot flushes while taking the nasal spray Synarel?? Their really getting to me the doc said it would pass when i started taking the Puregon injections. Well I started those last week and I am still all hot and bothered!!

Now I know how my poor mother felt when she was going through the menopause.

Well I am really nervous about ER next Wed. Is it sore?? I have been told that I will get a mild seditive and pain releif afterwards, but not totaly knocked out. Any good advice please..

My DH has been giving me my injections like a pro, god love them all!! He was so nervous about hurting me the first night that he really did hurt manage to hurt me!! the bruse is still there 6 days later.

Rennie- I am nervous about the PIO shots, but look at this youtube site. I watch it each day and it builds up my confidence that I can do this. But look how slow she gives herself the shot!! I'm going to have to be a bit quicker than that. ouch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGjZm5uX ... re=related

Mia-I love all the vibes signs coming your way. :) I've read that 10 lbs is about max. http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/ivfhints.html Whatever you do, be careful. This is not a time for us to be "big girls". Let people help you.

Bat21- I'm nervous about ER too  Are you going tomorrow for your first b/w since suppression? I think we are on the same schedule.

Martin- I'm not sure about AF and Lupron. I was on Lupron along with bcp and AF came 3 days after I stopped bcp. HURRY UP AF!!! :x

Suga- glad that things are getting better. I hope the PIO shots get easier for you.

rio- I hope you can rest up before tomorrow. I'm terribly sorry you are having it so hard. And that goes for you too Katie!!!

Me- DH left yesterday and I'm loving the peace. Although I still get nervous when giving myself my shots, it is getting easier. I think this will build up my confidence to give myself the PIO when the time comes. DH will only be here on the weekends and the day of ER. So I will have to do my bedrest alone. My goal this week (actually before wednesday) is to have all my meals cooked and frozen. That way I can just take it out of the freezer and warm it later in the day. I'm goning to try and have all the cleaning and laundry done. And DH and I agreed that if I really needed something while on bedrest, or if something goes wrong, I will call my good friend that live about 15 minutes away and just tell her. She like to gossip, but I am not going to jeopardize this because of pride. Mia, I think it was you that was asking about my nurse. She is only charging me 65.00 to come out and do my trigger. I thought that was a bargin considering I live in the burbs and have no idea where she is coming from. Plus, you know it's going to be late at night. I only wish she were available during the day to do the PIO. If your DH is nervous about doing the trigger, I would ask a nurse. I bet more of them do it than we know. They just can't advertise. The nurse coming to my house is the same one that works in the lab. So she is working with needles ALL DAY LONG. I would casually bring it up next time you have b/w.

To everyone doing ET this week. Good luck to you and all those strong embies :D

To everyone doing ER this week- rest! And I hope it goes smoothly. Grow follies grow!!!!!!!

To all of the remarkable ladies here- {{{{hugs}}}} and baby dust

2 WW, here I go!

Post by kbear4211 »

My ET was Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. I had a very full bladder, but made it through. My DH was so excited, it was sweet. He kept leaning down and kissing me through the whole thing. The RE assisting the DR with the procedure did a baby blessing over me right before we started, which I found to be very touching. We watched on the screen and I saw the catheter insert, but I did not actually see the liquid squirt in, but my DH did.

I did complete bedrest all day Saturday and most of Sunday as no one wanted me to do anything. It is nice to be pampered.

My test is not until 02/04 because my clinic does not do pregnancy tests on the weekend. I know this is going to be hard, and I swear I will not do a HPT, but who knows.

As for bloating and cramping after ER, the first day I was a little sore, but the next day it was awful. I did gain a couple pounds and I was sitting at work with a heating pad over my abdomen. It was not fun. If I sneezed, coughed or laughed, it was agony. My RE said this is absolutely normal and could continue over the next couple weeks. Luckily, it has gotten much better.

So, now we wait.

Sugarbeanz, I think we are one day off, but essentially the same schedule. Let's just keep each other going.

To all the ER and ET's this last weekend and this week, I wish you STICKY BABY DUST.

Hi Everyone! I am up and moving today, I am back at work actually. I am still REALLY bloated, but the pain is less. I got an update yesterday, 11 of my 17 eggs feritlized. So I will get an update today, Monday, as to how many embryos are still going strong!

My doc said to drink Gatorade after the ER. I drank three 32 oz bottles since Saturday, and I do feel better, but it might be a coincidence??

PIO shots aren't bad, but the Novarel that is another story! The shot itself was not bad, but the two days following the shot my entire right side was so sore, it was hard to move. They said that is normal and it went away now!

To all the girls stimming, I am sending lots of wishes your way for your follies to grow, grow, grow!

To all those who had ET this past week/weekend, I am hoping you are get BFPs in a couple of weeks!

Stay positive everyone! Thanks for all your support!

Rio I hope that these are sticky vibes as you call them that would be wonderful! I think it may be a little too early for my eggs to have already attached though. I only put 2 back in because of my age.

KBear: Yeah I think we are close to one another. My second blood test is on Feb 4. Hopefully we can get great new together!!

Mia: Thanks!!

I have to go back to work tomorrow :( It should be interesting since I am a PreK teacher and kids try to climb all over me...none of that any more since it hurts to just laugh or bend. So we shall see about this one! Luckily I have a great principal who knows what I am going through...it is all the other teachers and aides that talk about me behind my back when I am out sick for awhile...poor them who have never had to go through this!! ugh

Hi Ladies...Just a quick update. I will catch up with you all in a little bit....just wanted to let you know...that I had a great u/s and b/w appt today.

I am happy to report that everything is looking great! My uterus lining is measuring 10mm. My Estradiol level is a 1549. My next appt is Wednesday. I am looking at ER being on Friday or Saturday. I now have 14 follicles!!!!! That is great for me...and my age. She said my meds are to stay the same. I talked to her about accupuncture and she said that they will come there on the day of embryo transfer. They are closed today...but will talk to them tomorrow about it. She told me the doc doesnt seem to concerned about the nose bleed, that I had last Saturday. I havent had another one since. I am feeling very positive and happy so far. :D

WOOHOOO!!!! Way to go Tammy! :D Glad to read you are moving right along. You and a couple of others have peaked my interest in accupuncture. Havy you been doing it throughout, or just on the day of ER? Did your doctor have someone they recommend, or did you seek out someone on your own?

Tammy: 14 is great!! Way to go!

Suga: yeah be careful with those lil kids jumpin at you. Can you tell them you have a tummy ache so they stay off you?? Teachers are the WORST gossipers!! Sorry.

Hopin: Congrats on the 11! Everyone is just moving right along! Can't wait to hear the embie report.

kbear: Yeah the bladder being full is the worst part! Glad everything went well and dh was there to comfort you!

Weezie: yeah it is tough for me to get others to help, especially when I look fine!! Good job getting things ready for you to relax!!

Tlova: I think everyone reacts differently to ER - hopefully you will be like me and fine the next day!

Sage: I am doing an AF jig for you. Hope she gets here soon for you!

Jomae: no, I kept my lips sealed to my friends. We decided not to tell anyone and have done well at keepin it a secret!

Nothing new here. Just waiting for tomorrows u/s! I will let you know how it goes!!
