After an agonising 2ww i am finally here, but now I am worried about the next few weeks.
I am 4weeks 2days and am still getting daily mild af-like cramping pains. I've read thats its normal to feel mild pain, but i thought it would be easing off by now. Very excited but scared, so just looking for some reassurance please ladies!

helenx

I've just copied this from another website, so I can look at it to reassure myself regularly:

1.You may become very fatigued.

2.You may experience breast soreness, and even notice that your breast size has increased. You may notice a darkening around the area surrounding the nipple called the areola. As the blood supply to the breast increases, you may also see bluish veins throughout your breasts.
3.You may notice an increased urge to urinate. This could be due to the expanding blood volume in your body, which can increase the amount of urine you make.

4.You may experience nausea and vomiting. If you are experiencing excessive morning sickness, you may even lose weight in the first trimester. See your practitioner if you are unable to keep down liquids, or lose more than a few pounds.

5.You may find yourself unusually sensitive to certain odors or aromas.

6.You may crave certain foods.

7.You may have an increase in appetite.

8.You may gain weight. Although the fetus is very small in size at this point, your body naturally gains weight preparing to carry a baby. Your blood volume is also increasing, which contributes to the weight gain.

9.Your menstrual periods will stop, although some women experience a little intermittent spotting in the first month or so.

10.You may become constipated, which can be due to hormonal changes.

11.You may notice you are having heartburn more often than usual. At this stage of the pregnancy, heartburn is most likely due to the changes in hormone levels throughout your body.

12.You may occasionally feel dizzy or faint.

13.You may experience cramps, similar to menstrual cramps. This is normal in early pregnancy. However, if the cramping is severe, or accompanied with vaginal bleeding, contact your practitioner.

14.You may experience emotional instability, such as mood swings and irritability. You may have difficulty concentrating. These are due to hormonal changes as well.

Many of these symptoms will disappear as your pregnancy progresses, while others may continue until after you deliver your baby.

This reassured me, so I hope it helps someone else too.

helenx

Ladies, I have not posted before, but reading all your messages has got me through the last month or so.
I am 6.5 weeks pregnant after my first ivf/icsi cycle at the ARGC.

I Am/was very excited until I went for my 6 wk scan with Mr T on Wednesday. Although he did see a heartbeat,he said I was not 'out of the woods yet' and he wanted to take some blood to send to chicago for ' NK Cell testing ' (Natural Killer cells ...something to do with my Immune system possibly rejecting). I have to go back on Thursday for another scan and test results. Am now very worried.... although am supposed to be at home 'relaxing'.

Have any of you heard or had to have tests for this?

Julie A

Hi Julie

Congrats on your pregnancy - that's great news. I haven't posted on this side yet, still a bit apprehensive.

I'm also at ARGC and I was tested for NK Cells, although the tests showed everything to be okay, Mr T still suggested that I have an IVIG drip as my levels were just below the ok mark. I had an IVIG 2 days after ET and then again on the day my second beta showed positive (my HCG levels were very low). The IVIG is very expensive (£1000) but I think it must have helped. The other thing is I just trust Mr T completely.

Try not to worry too much - a lot easier said than done. The tests may not show up anything at all.

Love Jen

Hi Jen,

Thanks for the reply and the encouragement! congratulations to you too. I know Mr T is the best and nothing I can do until Thursday.
I'll just have to stay at home and keep 'relaxing' I seven weeks today and I know this still early days for any pregnancy. Just wish I could fast forward to 12 weeks!

love
Julie
