Hiya all
Does anyone know where I can get a doppler/heartbeat monitor. I've looked on the internet and you can rent for about £30 a month. Is this the only way? I live in West Yorkshire so any help would be great.
We are wanting one cos I keep spotting. Last night I ended up going to a&e and once we'd heard the heartbeat we calmed down a lot. We go to the fetal assessment unit in the morning for a scan but the spotting has stopped now. It happens regularly but every time I see a bit of blood I go cold.
luv Bertie
19wk & 1 day

Hi Bertie,
Ebay may have one for auction.
Or the hospital may be able to loan one to you. The other suggestion is to speak to your midwife, which I did this week and she has said any time I want to listen to the heartbeat and be reassured I've just to ask and she'll fit me in!!!
Hope one of these at least helps,
Di
Hi yes it's babyechoes.co.uk.....good idea and you can sell it on after babys born, i'm sure people will snap it up for the chance to listen, I asked a Midwife friend of mine if it's causes any damage to baby but she said you can use it as much as you want. But not to panic if you can't find anything.

Good Luck

Wibbs
XXX
Hi - sorry my reply is so late but we hired ours (still have it - after a few months you have bought it so it becomes yours) from Babybeats.com and it is fantastic. It arrived 2 days after ordering it and personally I feel it's been a godsend especially during the first weeks before our baby started booting me regularly!!!

Used it once a week from 11th or so week just for a few seconds and never had a problem personally finding the heartbeat quite quickly but they stress that it doesnt mean you will find it every time.

You have to be prepared that you might not be able to find it and not to panic.

Its lovely to hear your baby whenever you want I would recommend getting one 100% but its personal choice. Many a time when those little niggles creep in and your body seems to go quiet and switch off, it has been such reassurance to hear our babys heartbeat loud and strong and saved us a lot of worry.

Best of luck & lots of love - Jo. Thanks to you all for your help. We will def be getting one. I've had bad bleeding again - this time it wasnt around af time. We have a midwife appointment tomorrow, we will hear the heartbeat then but every time I bleed we panic. I am 21 wk and I know that if something was going wrong then there would be more than just blood but its still v scary.
luv Bertie x
