ANOTHER question for Ghost (or anyone in NC)

Post by mulligan »

Hi again Ghost,

I live in Charlotte, NC and I am a patient at REACH. I need a second opinion, but I don't know where to go or where to find the info I need to find another clinic. Do you know of any good clinics in NC? Where would I find info on good clinics in NC? Any ideas?

Thanks!

You might start with SART? They list the success rates of most US clinics.

Hi, I've been very happy with NCCRM. I got pregnant on the 2nd ivf cycle with them. Dr. Toma seems to be very proactive -tests for everything & changes the protocal. He doesn't have the best bedside manner, but you really feel like he's trying everything he can to make it work. Of course that may be because I was on the shared risk program and he would have had to pay me back if I didn't get pregnant. Before that I went to UNC & really dont recommend at all. Carolina Conceptions is run by the MD I saw at UNC, so I would stay away from that too.
Good Luck!

Thank you 2ndtimer! I really appreciate the help! I'll look into NCCRM...

Ghost- when I look at the sart stats, what is considered good? One of the clinics I found that is nearby has a 41.5% live birth rate for non-donor fresh cycles for my age group (<35). Is that good/bad/okay?

Thanks!

That's close to the national average. You can view the national averages by clicking the link at the top of the SART page. That will tell you who is better than average. Don't forget the frozens.
