Hi all-I'm feeling kinda blue today-it's starting to get to me

had BW/US this morning- things are looking good- counted 16 follies, some 20 some only 11 or 12, and so- f$%^ 1 more day of stimming for me and they swear I will take the trigger shot Friday night (of course I need to go in tomorrow AM for more BW/US grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
-I know this isn't a big deal, and they are just trying to get the biggest bang for the buck -and they are doing everything right and in my best interest, but I am starting to freak out- I feel like all I do is grow eggs, and think about growing eggs- and that everything else in my life has come to a halt - this wouldn't be so bad, but I feel like I'm letting my work suffer- I haven't made any art on my whole break - I'm just so sick of being an egg mill - and to top it off, I can't register for classes because they don't have record of my measles/mumps/rubella shot - crap - I don't have that info, and my classmates are like "well, just get a new shot" like it's no big dea- I'm 39 for crying out loud!!!!l and I can't tell them what's going on - and I hate secrecy - but that should work out, too - RE will write a note as to why I cannot have the shot

sorry to dump on you all, but here it is - and I have a headache from crying - grrrrrr

kilean - sounds like you and i will be on having ER same day. i'm tentatively scheduled for 1/30 also.
what are your levels?

i had my 2nd u/s and b/w today since i started stim meds almost 6 days ago. my estrodiol was abotu 1100 today - and my biggest follicle is 1.5mm. they said i'm responding a little quickly, but everything's good so far. they also said my lining is very good - triple thick

are you guys bloated? i am feeling so bloated and crampy...i actually left work eraly today and went home to relax.

are you guys doing ecsi? my RE said we didnt need to, but today they said that since we've never done IVF before, they want to do half the eggs with ICSI and half without. Nurse said that this way we ensure that we'll have good fertilized embies to put back in. I guess it makes sense, but it's another $2600 for ICSI...sounds like they might just want the money. I know it's bad to say, but i feel that way sometimes at this clinic that i'm at. anyone have input on this?

Oh Loopy! It's ok...I'm in exactly the same place ( probably Fri trigger) & I feel like I'm just hanging around waiting. You do put your life on hold & I've posted far too many times today
This is a huge thing in our lives & it's natural to go through all these emotions. Do you have somebody you can vent with besides dh? I have 2 friends i told & they're really curious so they tolerate my endless yapping about it ...it really helps. If not...keep lettin in out here, we'll all be here for you. School will work out....a note will be fine for them.

Looks like we may be together on Sunday...but knowing me...who knows. Arggh!! Keep us posted on tomorrow...can't wait to hear!

Hey girls, I can't post long dh just called said he is bringing a co-worker home, and I was planning on serving leftovers .

Loopie: I know it is stressful, and these treatments can just take over our lives!! It is hard to focus on anything. The nap idea sounds good. Never worry about "dumping" it on us That is what we are here for. And it is comforting be with ppl who know what we are going through, isn't it. Instead of stupid students who are like, yeah like, just take the shot, duh...

21bat: Yeah, I think ICSI is unnecessary when you don't have MF problems. 2600$!! Mine is only a 1000$! It is a tough decision. But I think I would go w/o it.

Rio: No sleepin for you missy, and what kinda movies are you watching before bed??!! LOL I guess if you can't help it, you can't hemlp it. But no purposeful O's for any of us during the 2WW!

Loopie - don't get blue! I know it is hard to keep your focus on anything else right now besides eggs/mature eggs, fertilization, etc... It is a ton of stress and don't beat yourself up for being unproductive at work, I think we all get that way. So many meds, so many tests, stats, this really fills our heads and the pressure is huge. It really is hard to think of anything else. Everything will be great, think about your BFP! Positive thoughts! Do something nice for yourself, eat something yummy, watch a funny movie 16 follies is great! Vent anytime!

21bat - grow follies! We did ICSI cause we had no other way, we have low count. It was another $1,600 for us. We had all 4 mature eggs fertilize

21bat- you're doing great- as for the ICSI, I think there may be no need if yer fella's swimmers got the A-OK from the andrology lab- on the other hand, if you get a dozen or so, it may make sense to do some that way... I think the RE's know what they are doing,and if you're still not sure - ask what their success rates are with ICSI -and fill in your specs so you can make an educated decision.

quick question: the fact that my estrogren level is a bit high - could it have anything to do with what i'm eating, or dos it strictly mean that i'm overresponding to the meds?

Bat: strictly meds. You have a ton of follies!!! Go girl! So your E2 will be higher anyway..over us poor souls with 10 or 11
For mature follies it's supposed to be 150 - 350 per egg. It's the size too they're monitoring...they want nice & steady growth over a specific number of days.

Make sure you eat organic dairy though...especially milk. Reg milk does have hormones in it. I don't know if that would affect it, but it is screwing up young girls & their development....developing really early.

Do you guys think this ICSI thing is just a way to get more money out of us? I just wrote them a big check for all the upcoming stuff and they told me about doing ICSI the same day the check cleared. coincidence?
we paid for icsi as part of the package but they were supposed to refund the money if we didn't have to use it - which i was sure we didn't need to. now they're saying we should...hmm...

21 bat: My nurse just called also and said that the drs had met and discussed our case (as they discuss everyones) and they recommend that we do 1/2 ICSI, 1/2 normal as DH's counts are sometimes low.

I told her I had gotten pregnant with clomid and IUI only so doesnt that mean the sperm can do their job with the egg? Why should we do ICSI if we know they can do it?

She kind of back peddled and said, its just something to think about. You dont have to do it.

I am going to tt the DR about it next time I see him. Tomorrow AM is my baseline ultrasound and bloodwork! Then I guess I start the gonal F on Saturday?

I am nervous about changing injections. The Lupron has been easy so far (only 1 bruise and that was when I gave myself the injection while driving in the car in the dark!). Yes I know, stupid me but I was in a hurry to get to a meeting and did not want to be late on the injection so I gave it on the way to the meeting in the car. I dont recommend that method.

I am keeping good thoughts for all you that have just done ET and for the next round of ER! Is anyone else just starting the stims this week?

Loopie: 9am! Woohoo! I am soo nervous, now. Stupid accupuncture people that work with Cleveland Clinic wont return any of my calls. I have left several messages. They are closed on Monday, too. I am pist that they are stressing me out!

21Bat: I dont know if ICSI is to get more money or to make sure they get a good fert rate to make sure they get us pregnant. They have an invested reason to get us pregnant. Their stats. I think it is included in mine...and that they are doing half of them. I dont care if they do them all cause I want to make sure they get as many to fertilize as possible ...since I feel like that is our possible problem. 23 follicles ...wtg!

Rio: You crack me up! By the way I asked my nurse about numbing cream ...she looked at me like I am crazy. She said the pain would be deep and the cream is topical. Oh well. Whatever. LOL

Mia- OMG. A dinner guest! And you THOUGHT you were having leftovers tonight. hahahah. I'd be dying if I had to frantically prepare something. Especially feeling big and bloated. It has been a little while since I have posted, but I have still been following everyone's progress and it's very encouraging!

Marin, I start stims tomorrow morning, so we'll be close to the same schedule. I'm taking MicroLupron/Menopur/75 units Gonal F in the am and MicroLupron/300 Units of Gonal F in the pm. I'll be cheering for you!

It feels like it's taking forever to get to this point. I hope time speeds up now that the real deal is happening.
