oh Esperanza, I am so very, very sorry. Take the time you need with dh to grieve for your loss, let out all of your sadness & disappointment. My thoughts are with you. You've been such a great support to all of us here, I hope you will soon realize your dream of becoming a mother. Take good care of yourself and dh during this time.
When you are ready, I'll look foward to having you with your snowbabies onboard as my cycle buddy in Feb/March.

Sending you a big hug, Amy xx

Esperanza: I am soo soo sorry. (((HUGS))) You are such a strong woman and have such a positive outlook. I admire you.

Hi everyone! I am home and ER went really well! It was somewhat of a crazy day, though. They got 12 eggs!!! I was given a special medication...cause apparantly I am at risk for OHSS. Not because of follie count...but because my estradiol level was over 3000. Interesting.

Due to minor complications 2 months ago with my back surgeryand anesthesia...they opted to not do anesthesia...but instead did a spinal. So I was wide awake through the whole thing! It was really cool once I got over the anxiety of it all. I actually watched the whole procedure on a tv screen and counted with the doc each egg they retrieved. Then I watch the embryologist on the tv screen after the doc was done with his part...actually put them in the petrie dish and start the fertilization part of it. They said it was highly unusual that I got to do all of that. It was truly awesome!!!

I asked the doc while he was doing his thing if there could be more than 1 egg per follicle ...he said no. That if they got more eggs than the last reported follicle count...it is just because...some follicles were hiding when the counted them at the last ultrasound.

I actually had 8 eggs instead of 7 out of my left ovary because...one follicle was hiding. And intead of 7 out of the right...they only got 4 due to the fact my right ovary went shy again. Thank God for the spinal...a nurse had to push really really hard to get my right ovary down enough for the doc to get them. They kept making the comment that basically he was finding them in the dark and doing an awesome job! The doc was very thrilled to get the 4 out of that side since you couldnt see anything on the screen. Yayyy!

I didnt sleep at all last night ...I was sooo nervous. So I came straight home to sleep....and am going back to sleep again. I will post personals when I wake up. Nite Nite.

Esperanza- I am so sorry to hear your news. Everything that everyone has said about you is so true, and we know you will bounce back and be ready in feb/march. You are in our thoughts.

Tammy- congrats on a successful ER. That's really cool that you got to see the whole procedure. I was knocked out and don't remember a thing. It would have been really neat to watch. We will be looking for your fert report soon.

Esperanza,
Oh my dear, I feel your sadness  . I give u a great big mental hug. Be good to yourself right now as you try to accept the result. Let yourself cry if you must, your feelings are valid. I also advise you drink a nice relaxing glass of wine if you like wine, and take good HOT bubble bath tonight to pamper yourself cuz you deserve it. You are a admirably strong women and will get through this. Before you know it AF will be here and gone and you will be on your way with your FET. I pray next time will be ur turn.

Do u do accupucture?

Colesmom--- Good Luck tomorrow.....6 day blast! Do you know what grade your embies are?? Does you RE tell you when you get there? I hope everything goes smoothly!

As for me, just taking it easy today. I am finished with my two days of bedrest...which I am happy about. Today I will do some things, butt not too much. How many days were all of you on bedrest after ET????

Neffi: I was told by my old doc mandatory 3 days bedrest. The new doc says none!!! I am so upset cause I already told work that I had to have off till Thurs next week for bedrest and I gave my doc the paperwork to fill out and they said no cause they cant justify me being on bedrest!!! She said she could only give me one day after transfer. What the heck? What do I do now? I told her to hold on to my paperwork and I will get it later. I dont want to go back to work right away! It is very labor intensive, stressful, I am on my feet all day, (we dont even take any breaks for lunch or anything) and I am required to lift more than 10 lbs! I have to find my own coverage ...if I want a day off...and there is no one to cover me. I dont get personal days or anything like that either.

Colesmom: Good Luck today!!! Let us know how it went.

I finally got ahold of their acupuncture guy and he is like I am not there on Mondays and Wednesdays. I am out of another office 30 minutes away that you can come to the day after ET and I agreed ...then he says but I am booked!!! Then he says ...I will fit you in. He sounds like a complete idiot. Anyone do acupuncture 1 day and 3 days after ET? He was recommending that since he cant do me when he should. I should just tell him to forget it.

FERTILIZATION REPORT!!

Well, we have 8 embabies growing, maturing, and dividing. We started with 12 eggs. 10 were mature. Out of those they did ICSI on 8 of them. 7 of them took...1 did not. The 2 that they decided to see if they fertilize on their own...1 did...1 didnt. So we have 8 all together out of 12.

I asked her about egg quality, fragmentation, etc. She said none of that will show till tomorrow. I told her I am hoping to go for a 5 day transfer...she said usually they need 10 good ones on day 2 (tomorrow) to chance it to 5 days....but we will see. So if all 8 continue to grow and divide well...then we just may chance it. We will know tomorrow morning. So please pray that all 8 embabies are good ones tomorrow.

To my stimming girls: Baby Dust! Happy Stimming!

To my preggo mamas: Happy Doubling Betas!

To my girls who are taking a little longer on the journey: No worries. It will happen, soon. Positive thinking. I am praying for all of you.

Neffi- I had no bed rest after my ET. My doctor called it couch rest, or snow day rest the day of transfer and then back to normal the next day. On the day of et he said to pretend like today was a snow day. Go home, watch a movie, read a book, just relax. He said that if he even thought that bed rest gave me a 1% better chance of being pregnant than he would order, but in all his years, it didn't matter. I was happy that my et was on a friday though, so I had the weekend to rest.

Tammy- My doc did not even mention acupuncture once. I didn't do it because no one had talked about it. Sounds like a good fert report so far, keep us updated and we will be praying for all 8.

Colesmom- good luck tomorrow, we will be sending sticky vibes your way.

Home from ET. Everything went perfect. :) I am so Happy these little embies are in me. We had 2 6 day blast transfered. When I asked the quality the DR laughed with happiness and said these 2 are the best of our 17 and the best he has seen in a long time. Perfect. I pray he is right and I will be a happy new mommy soon. Dh and I are so happy. I am on rest for the next 2 days. Relaxing with some movies..Oh and we will have some frosties. They will call us on Monday to let us know how many. :D

Colesmom: That is an awesome report from the Dr.! Sending lots of baby dust your way!

TammyS: That is so cool that you got to watch the ER! Will keep my fingers crossed for you that all your embies continue to divide and grow so that you can do a Day 5 transfer.

Neffi211: I was on bedrest for 24 hours after my ET. My Dr. told me that they didn't have any results to show staying in bed or on the couch longer helped. They did tell me on Days 2 and 3 to not lift anything over 25lbs and to take it easy. Sending baby dust your way!!

Colesmom- Congrats on an excellent report from your dr. Rest and enjoy your movies while your embies snuggle in.

Neffi- My doc, like andnicholes, also said no lifting, but said not more than 15 lbs. That was really hard for me because I like to do everything myself and I am pretty strong. I am a librarian right now, so I use to lift 15lbs of books daily without a second thought. And I have a cat that weighs 18lbs, so I even avoided picking him up for a while( but I couldn't hold out for too long cuz he is my cuddle bug!). I think they tell us this stuff just to be cautious, better safe than sorry. Even at almost 9wks pregnant, I am still trying to be careful about what I lift.
