I am 23 and have PCOS. Dont know how long I have had it since I just recently gained weight about 2 years ago and noticed some eymptoms. Before I was regular and no symptoms. I currently just underwent my first IVF cycle with ICSI. They transfered 2 eggs back in and I suffered from OHSS. I am taking metformin. What is the likelihood that I will get pregnant the first cycle? Anyone out there in the same situation? I know I am young and whatnot so my chances are a little higher but I dont know if I can undergo another cycle any time soon because it was just so taxing on my body with the OHSS.
What is the likelihood of PCOS patients getting pregnant and not miscarrying? Does staying on metformin help any?

I think I just sent you a private message but I'm not sure if it worked! Anyhow, we have extrememly similar situations.
I was diagnosed with PCOS about two years ago after going off BCP. Never really had any symptoms before, but tons of acne (ahhh) after going off bcp. I've also been taking metformin. But the craziest thing is we're on the same IVF schedule- I just had my transfer on Jan 19th and sched for preg test on Feb 1. We too did ICSI/IVF and I have OHSS too! Blah!! It's definately no fun!! I just thought it was so weird to find someone going through the exact same things and about the same age (I'm 24) I had to post!! =) Wishing you the best and a BFP on Jan 31!! I hope these not so fun OHSS symptoms dont last too much longer- but then again I think it's a good sign!! =)

Wow this is nice to have someone with almost the exact same thing! I too came off BCP and acne was really the only thing. Still is really. Jan 31 is too far away as I am sure Feb 1 is for you! I am glad you replied as well! We have to keep in touch with one another! You should join the Jan/Feb thread under invitro. Great girls in there. I dont know for sure if I had full blown OHSS because it is literally all gone. About 5 days after the ER everything was back to normal. So maybe I just had it really mild? Who knows. It was horrible though! I hope yours gets better also. THe only thing now is just a feeling of bloatedness down there but that may be a good sign...keep in touch!! Best wishes to you as well!!
