When did your twins sleep through the night

Post by Fed7281 »

Hi,

I had my twin boys on October the 8th. I was 38 weeks 5 days when they were born and they were 6lbs and 5lbs 12oz. They are still not sleep through the night. We have one good strech of 5 hours then they eat every 3 hours. They drink 5oz at a time and they have 2 tablespoons of cerial in the morning and night and still no sleeping. I am just curious when everyone else's twins started sleeping through the night so that I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks,
Erin

The good news is that I have one that sleeps 10-13 hours straight and one that does 4-5 and then is up every 2.5-3 hours.

I use to wake them at the same time but after two months it simply dawned on me that two different people may have two totally different needs so why make them the same. Within a month my DD was sleeping thru the night and DS is still working on it. I would say that Annelise started doing 8 hours straight at 2 months but didn't get consistant until 3 months and now she is a power sleeper! God bless that child!

My little fella has had some health issues and it's probably partially my fault because I hate to see him too upset at night when I don't know if he's in any pain or not. But I would say you are getting very close. Mine hitting the 9-10 lb range really helped as well.

Peaceful dreams!

I can't remember where I read this- sleeping thr' the night means a 5-6 hr. stretch and no more.

My two were born October 4th and have slept from about 8 weeks and more consistenly from 12 weeks 8-12 hours. They briefly started waking after 6 hours 2 weeks ago and I weaned them on to rice and fruits and they sleep through again now.

I was worried initially because they also sleep 1 hr early morning, 2 hours after lunch and another 2 early evening and go down to sleep between 8-10pm. I thought all this sleeping was a bad sign but doctor says no its growth and boy are they growing. Can believe how much they are doing. One already holds his bottle on his own (on some not all feeds) and he's only 16 weeks old.

Somehow they seem to working in sync with each other.

Give it time. They will do it soon.
