Hey girls. Gee when you miss a day on the boards, you miss it all. I don't know where to begin or who to start with so I'll make this easy for myself until I catch up.

Esperanza - I cried when I read your post because I wanted so much for us to go through this pregnancy journey together. I know it's still not too late and know that you'll be joining us with your BFP soon. Remember what I said, God knows who is worthy of good things and it will happen. Remember we don't know when but we do know will!! I'm wishing you luck on your next cycle and I'm gald you'll stick around with us.

For all the girls that did ER/ET this week/weekend, best of luck and much baby dust to you. Neffi I transferred two perfect 6 day blast and got my BFP on Thursday so there is hope in all that. My first beta was 504 and I go back on Monday for my second. To all the other ladies who are in the 2WW, just hang in there and keep positive. Don't stress yourself with looking for signs and symptoms like I did, it will only drive you crazy. When I did my HPT, I was really reluctant but the day before I did my test I just felt pregnant and that's what made me take it. I hadn't felt that before than. I don't know if it was God's way of easing my mind so I could better concentrate on my baby(s) or what. It was strange.

To all the girls that are stimming, keep the positive attitudes. As you can see from this board alone, IVF can and does work.

For all my lovlies who are waiting for your next cycle, I know it seems like forever but remember good things come to those who wait.

For all of my pregnant mama's. Good luck to all of us. We all seem to be holding our own right now and it's great. I still can't beleive that I am pregnant. Please pray that my second beta on Monday is as good as my first. Will post my results as soon as I get my call.

Also I did accupuncture a few times a week over the past two months and have now stopped. Is it safe to continue if you're pregnant and if so what are the dos and don'ts. My doc didn't specialize in infertility, I told him I was doing IVF and he worked the points that reflected on the abdoman. Don't want to take any chances. Also I have not laid on my stmach since I found out I was pregnant, is it okay to do so. I usually have to lay on my stomach and back for accupuncture. Please help, I don't want to jeopardize anything at this point.
Me, 40 - DH, 47
IVF #1: POSITIVE - Michaela born 9/19/08
IVF #2: Consult on 10/13/09 - Start BCP Dec since clinic will be closed for the Holiday.

washingtonda- I was worried about laying on the tummy too, but I have not had any problems thus far. I am a stomach sleeper and I find it very uncomfortable to sleep on my side or back. I am almost 9 weeks and I am finding it a little more uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach, but it has not harmed the baby in any way. I am going to ask my ob at my first appt with her on tues. I have read it is best to sleep on your left side, but I am going to continue on my stomach as long as I can. I will let you know what my ob says.

Hello all, I'm glad to see that everyone is moving along!

I'm feeling much better now, although I know I will still feel sad for a while. When I got the news yesterday, I felt as if I had had a second miscarriage, it was like loosing a baby all over again.

WashintonDA: thank you for the tears, they are comforting to me. No problem, I will still remember you as my 2ww buddy, and hey! our babies will only be a few months apart  Hopefully I'll get to be a 2008 mama as well!

Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement. I appreciate them. I will be hanging out here, this has become my little social club.

DH and I had decided days ago that we would go out on a date yesterday regardless of the outcome. Believe me, I didn't want to go anywhere, but I had to stick to my word, so he took me to a beautiful Indian restaurant and we ordered the most expensive thing on the menu and a delicious glass of white wine  (we are grad students, so this is unusual for us). We SO deserved to treat ourselves after such a big disappointment.

Holding my feelings at work was the WORST thing I could have done. I came home and cried for hours...I hadn't cried that hard since I lost the baby 1.5 years ago, but it felt so good to let it out.

The optimistic side of me is convinced that this happened for a good reason. 1) If I do get pregnant in March, then the baby(ies) will be born in December, which is exactly when I get a break from school/work. 2)My dh is about to finish his doctorate and most likely will be teaching somewhere else in the fall, so it would be easier for him to be with me in December (or if I have to move with him to another state, it'll be easier to move before the babies arrive) as supposed to having a baby(ies) in October when he'll be new on the job. By the way, have I mentioned that we'll be more aggressive next time? we are definitely transferring 2, we don't care what the doctors say! In any case, we are talking about (hopefully) having twins!

Anyway, this is a very long post focusing on me only
   sorry! Believe it or not, this is practically the only space where I can be this open (except for when I talk with dh or my brother--who, by the way, rocks! I can guarantee you that he's the best brother in the world)

Ladies in the 2WW--hang in there!!!

Beautiful pregnant mamas--take care of yourselves and the little jelly beans.

Washingtonda,
I still do accupuncture, but she doesn't do the same points now, no belly point. she does however do points that help support the uterus to continue carrying baby. Most points are tonifying and support CNS. Another point she did was for nausea. It's a good time for me to relax and take a nap LOL. :D

oh yes, I used to do accupuncture. I did it to recover from the miscarriage in 2006 (for about 4 months...with insurance coverage!), and I loved it! my accupuncturist specializes in "women's issues," so she's lovely and knowledgeable in that regard. Lots of women attribute their pregnancies to her. I stopped going because of my busy schedule, but I'm definitely going back to her in the next couple of weeks, I want to be ready for my FET.

Esperanza,
I think you are a goddess to handle your BFN with some aplomb. You deserved a nice dinner with your DH and a glass of wine. And I know you will get your dream in the near future; it's great to look on the bright side and realize the timing may work out better this way.

I am thinking of you a lot these days. Stay strong, and when you don't feel strong, hey, you've always got us.

Schel: I took your advise ...and left a message and an email with a different acupuncturist to see if I can get in tomorrow before my ET.

CT_Michele: I was thinking about that stomach thing last night when doing a PIO shot. If I get pregnant...I wouldnt feel comfortable laying on my stomach to do them. The nurse has us do them this way...and so far it works well. Hmm. I have heard the left side is best too.

Neffi: Glad you got out and went to the mall. 24 lb cat!? Wow. LOL

Washingtonda: I would ask your doc about laying on your stomach and acupuncture.

Esperanza: Lots of love to you.

Hope everyone is doing well!!! :D

Fertilization Day 2 report:

Well, they just called. We are going for the 3 day transfer Monday at 1:30 est!! They dont want to wait to 5 days just in case we loose them all. All 8 of them are still viable and going strong!!!! They are all between 2 cell and 4 cell which is normal for day 2. They should be around 8 cells tomorrow. 2 are fragmented...but still growing. So this is all great news!!! We will decide tomorrow with the doc on 2 or 3. Everything is absolutely by textbook...so I cant complain!

I just started taking the Prog Suppositories this morning. Do you have to lye down for 30 minutes after inserting. Mine is more like a big oval pill verses what I thought it would be.

None of the instructions state that you must lye down but I thought I read somewhere on here that you must.

Please advise.

Hey Washingtonda

Hope you are doing very well.

Yes, you must lie down straight for atleast 20 minutes after inserting the suppositry (sp) and this is compulsory as prescribed by my doc and also that you should be very particular about the timings.

I was prescribed the same oval progesterone for my 2ww all the three times.

Take care.

Hey ladies--

TammyS--Congrats! ET tomorrow! Good luck, how many??

I am also using progestrone suppositories, My RE said that I do not have to lay down afterwards, that my body will take what it needs and discard the rest???? I do them three times a day usually right when I wake up, then at like 1pm and before bed....so the only one I lay down after is the one at night. I usually wear a panty liner, some days nothing comes out at all, others its more, I am going to ask my RE about that tomorrow.

Neffi: I have been thinking about it all day. I am leaning towards 3. I will be 40 in May. Our chances of triplets are only 5%. When the embryologist called she said, "You are transferring 3 right?" I said "I dont know yet." I told her that.... we (and the docs) will decide tomorrow. 3 is my lucky number, too. So as of this moment ...I am thinking 3. That would leave us 3-5 to freeze. Depending on how those 2 questionable ones come out.
