You're not having any morning sickness or cravings also? OMG ... we rock! I just feel normal. My boobs don't look any bigger. But my DH will say otherwise, he says it looks firmer. From what I hear and what I'm reading, for those of us who are not experiencing morning sickness, consider ourselves blessed.

Or maybe I just have a high tolerance. But I sure can't stand the smell of rice or certain things cooking. I was told by the IVF clinic, if I'm not having any morning sickness now, maybe ... just maybe, I'll get it later on. I sure hope not.

My co-worker is also PG. She's having morning sickness on a daily basis. One day she would show up at work and most days, she calls in sick. I'd be bummed that happened to me. Here's the kicker ... we're both due in the same month  . I didn't want to press her for a day because then I'd be stepping out of my comfort zone. I haven't told anyone at work that I'm pregnant yet. My DH hopes that we can wait another month. Have to tell our parents first, though.

Any of you pee in the middle of the night? I swear ... I empty my bladder before I go to bed and then I get up in the middle to go. Then I can't go back to sleep. I guess I better get used to it.

Yep that sounds just like me. No morning sickness except a few days of mild nausea at around 6 weeks so hopefully I won't get any now.
I don't even seem to be sensitive to smells (maybe 'cos my sinuses aren't great) except for cigarette smoke. I keep noticing it at work which I never used to. The whole place is no-smoking but I think I can just smell it on people's clothes even at a distance.

And peeing in the night? - At least once, sometimes twice and then there's so much going on in my head I can't get back to sleep. Maybe that's why I'm so tired!
I also have some days when I have to keep peeing but not every day. And some days when I'm really hungry.

Tina
I've only gained about 1 pound in weight but am starting to show. I ordered some maternity jeans at the weekend which arrived today.
I've got a belly band too (was my sister's) but haven't worn it yet as most of my tops aren't long enough to cover the fact that the zip's undone

Hello ladies! Wow! Seems like I have been gone forever! Unfortunately I got hit with some sort of NASTY stomach virus!!

I woke up Thursday night (could not go back to sleep), got up drank a glass of milk and watched my recorderd shows (a baby story and bringing home baby) for about 2 hours. I went back to bed and 2 min later I was running to toilet to throw up! I continued to stay in the bed and get sick all day on Friday. I finally got ahold of a nurse from OB's office (they are not as attentive as the RE's office) at around 7 pm..she called in a prescription for Zofran. I took the pill, stopped puking but everything started coming out the other end!! I was literally in the bed all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday only to get up to use the bathroom!! It was horrible! Some people were telling me it was morning sickness hitting me with a vengencance and I got really scared because, I was like if this is MS, I am not going to be able to work at all!! I will be incapacitated!! Anyway, the nurse felt it was a virus and I agree, because I actually feel human today! I have graduated to the couch and chicken noodle soup! I was so worried the babies were the babies were not getting enough nutrients, but she reassured me they were getting plenty from the reserves within my body. I was supposed to go to NYC yesterday for a meeting, but had to cancel :( I was so looking forward to surprising all my counterparts with the news that I Iam having twins! Oh well!!! Anyway..Unfortunatley I lost all the weight I have been trying so hard to gain...I have 25lbs to gain by week 24. Regardless of my weight, my belly seems to continue to grow!! :D Yeah!!

Tina0: Glad to hear your last check up went so well!! I too bought 2 of the belly bands (one white and one black) I LOVE them! My pants are just a little to tight and feel so much more comfortable unbuttoned and zipped!!
Don't worry about the weight gain....you will have plenty of time after the baby comes to worry about getting it off. Just enjoy being pregnant and watching your body change!!

You will have to let me know what brands were recommended to you for different items on your registry! I can't wait to register...just not sure when I should start...I guess after i find out the sex of the wee ones?? I guess I could start a registry and just keep adding to it..

Seltzer: Happy belated birthday!! I am glad you were able to spend some relaxing time with your DP!! Congratulations on your Nuchal scan...sounds like everything is right on track!!!

Tryw8: I started using Tummy Honey on my belly and thighs about 3 weeks ago..I feel the earlier the better!!!

And to chime in on the whole chocolate thing...I am all for chocolate...although since being prego I haven't really wanted any....if the craving should arise, i will not hesitate to indulge myself!!! Dancinnancy: I will have to try those cookies you were talking about! Sound Yummy!! Tell you SIL to step off!!!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Hi Everyone,
I had the first OB MD appt(last week was just with the nurse). Everything was just fine. They found the heartbeat right off and it was wonderful to hear. They are going to try to get me in for the nuchal translunceny test sometime this week. I'm a little ambivalent about having it done, but I can't really justify not having it.
Has anyone been wearing the belly band? Do you like it? I'm thinking about getting one but I really hate having something tight on my tummy.
Hope everyone if doing well.
Rebecca

Rebecca-

Congratulations on hearing the HB! I can't wait to hear that 'whomp whomp whomp' sound myself, PG. Lots of luck with the NT test if you decide to have it.

My dh tells me I'm starting to look pregnant. I think so too, but I wonder if others also think so. I think it depends what I wear.

Last night I woke up and was feeling really nervous and thirsty. I drank OJ, and slowly, began feeling REALLLLLY nauseous. Don't want to give TMI, but suffice it to say that I woke up my dh, and he helped me (so lovingly) through my middle-of-the-night-morning-sickness. Worst bout of it thus far. I felt really sick all day, but starting to feel better.

Well, that's about all for now. Can't wait for my next u/s on the tenth.

Hi Everyone,
They got me in for the Nuchal Translucency test today. They were looking for the measurement behind the neck to be less than 3. Ours was 1.6, so very good news so far. I also had some blood work done which combined with the ultrasound will give odds for Downs.
I got so nervous before the test because my sister had such a bad experience with the test that I've felt almost sick for the rest of the day. DH was with me & he was also about to pass out because he was so worried that they'd have to stick a needle in my belly for a CVS.
Anyway, it's a big relief to have that over with.

Hi Girls!

I had a bonus u/s this past week! I had to change medications, from Crinone Cream to prometrium (orally, instead of down where the sun doesn't shine!). The crinone was, well....backing up & was getting really gross - TMI! Anyway, my OB wanted to check on me to make sure I was doing okay with the change & I got to see our jumping bean again! That busy bee at our last u/s last week was measuring 9weeks 3days...exactly one week later the measurement was 10weeks 6days. Guess we hit a growth spurt! The baby looked so much bigger! I didn't have DH go to the appt w/ me because I thought it would just be an exam, so it was kind of sad not having him there. I have another appointment this coming Wednesday, the 6th. I believe that's when we're doing the Nuchal test, I have to call them Monday to confirm if we want to go through with it, which I think we do.

I get more and more emotional with each u/s. It's hard keeping it together, the more I cry and/or laugh out loud, the more difficult it is for the Dr to keep a steady image of the baby. Anyone else a blubbering mess looking at your babies on the u/s screen?

dancinnancy - I too am a blubbering mess during u/s! Glad I'm not the only one. I went in for my OB appt. yesterday and the nurse listened to the HB w/the Doppler...and again I got all choked up. I am so damn emotional.

Rebecca - congrats on hearing the HB. It is so reassuring!

2ndtimer - congrats on the NT! Great news. I am basically in the same boat as you, waiting for the odds number to come back. Are you doing the sequential screen or the regular NT test?

shari - I am surprised you are still having MS. Do you think it's getting better? Hang in there! Mine is pretty much gone now.

tinaO - Thanks for the info on the Doppler. Are you sure you're getting the HB & not your HB or the placenta? That could explain why it is lower than normal...just a thought.

I have my next OB appt. on 3/5, and I will have the major, routine u/s done then too. My OB says everything is going well, thankfully. (I was incredibly sick w/a stomach flu yesterday, though, puking all day. MBG, I think I caught your bug.) I saw my weight at the dr's office and was NOT pleased. I have gained 6 lbs. during the pregnancy so far and an extra 5 from the IVF. I might add that I was about 5 lbs. heavier than normal to begin with. What do you guys think of this? Does this sound normal? I am so paranoid I look fat & dumpy. My stomach is wicked, extremely bloated and distended still, and often very uncomfortable or painful. The good news is that I can see the protruding outline of my uterus very low in my abdomen, and the OB showed it to me, too. Very cool. When I go back to him on 3/5 he said it will be up to my belly button. Guess I'll be showing then!

Gotta run, am starving as usual...

Hi Everyone!:

Went to the OB/GYN today. Had another U/S. Baby is getting bigger. That's about all I can tell you. I have another appt. next week and I'm bringing my husband. My OB/GYN wants to see me on a weekly basis so I better get used to seeing him and those trips into town. Why is it that there is never any parking before lunch and then tons after lunch?

The U/S machines in the office, one gives a really grainy image the other is a lot more clearer.

Too my dismay, I haven't gain any weight ... actually, I'm dropping pounds. OB/GYN hasn't said much about it but he knows that I have "white coat syndrome". My BP is elevated once I get to his office. Still no signs of morning sickness. I have to pee a lot. It's irritating especially in the middle of the night because I can't go back to sleep.

He's taking me down from Progesterone 2cc x2/day to just once a day. But he wants me to increase it if I begin to spot again. I must have given him a horrified look when he told me that he'll have me on Progesterone IM injections until week 26. Ouch! Those injections really sting/hurt at times.

I'll just keep hanging in there.

Have a great weekend!

Karen

Dancinnancy-
Well, I guess I just feel joy and get very smiley during the u/s, no tears so far. The suspense between scans is TOUGH. When I see the little one, I am in amazement; I can't believe (after all this time) my body is growing a human being!

Seltzer-
I was mildly queasy until this point in pregnancy. The queasiness is just getting more severe. But officially I don't start my 2nd tri. for another week and a half, so I guess I'm still fair game. As far as weight gain, I just keep telling myself that I am gonna become a health/fitness machine once the baby comes. Till then... I'm pregnant! You're allowed to just look the way you look during pregnancy, and that's that. .

Well, feel good ladies, health and hugs....

Hello!

Seltzer: I wouldn't worry about your weight gain....nobody can probably even tell except for you and your DP.
I for instance am starting to feel HUGE, but when I ask friends, they tell me I look a little fuller, but only because they know I am pregnant, if they didn't know what I looked like before, they would not know I was preggers, just a little full in the belly. Has anyone poked on there belly? It feels so tight...so different than when you have belly full of blubber...Shari I am like you....It still amazes me that there are 2 little ones growing in there...at this point I have about 5 inches of total baby (between the two) in my belly...CRAZY!!!!
Sorry to hear you got sick! I am totally over mine, but now DH is sick, I am trying to take care of him, but washing my hands every 5 min...I do not want to get anything again!! I was thinking about buying some of those masks that people wear so they don't catch any germs, but thouht thta might be taking it a little far!

I got the best news today! My father and I go on walks together at least 2 times a week. During our walk today he told me he would be more than happy to keep the babies when I have to go back to work (I am only going to go back and work 3 days a week). That takes such a load off!! I am so excited he wants to be such a big part of their lives and means so much to have family watch them instead of strangers!! My heart is overflowing with love and happiness! I can now sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of my pregnancy!! :D :D

Well I am off to make some dinner....my appetite has come back with a venegence...making up for lost time!!

I hope everyone has great weekend!

MBG-
You are so lucky to have such a great built-in babysitter! My parents are on the other side of the Atlantic, so I'm afraid I'm looking at the daycare route for the days that I'm working. I wish I had the luxury of staying home with the baby, but I must work. However, I will probably cut down to 3 days as well and see if we can manage.

We are set to move to a new apt. July 31 and my due date is Aug. 12. No stress, ay? Actually, I'm really not thinking about it yet cuz it seems so far off. Speaking of 'far off', do any of you know where you are delivering? In Israel, you pick a hospital, and whichever doctor is there delivers you  ! Sssssscary! So the idea is to find a great hospital. I guess it's too early to worry about that, but I'd feel better if I took some tours to see my options.

Anyway, have a great day ladies!

Shari: I can only imagine what strange expierience it is for you going through all of this in a different country! I have never been to Israel, but I am sure it is quite a cultural adjustment for you and your dh. What made you move there? Is the health care system good there? That would be a little scary not knowing who is going to deliver your baby....my doctor works with 3 other doctors, so I may have kind of the same thing..depending on who is on call at the time, unless we schedule a c-section. Although, that is only 3 strange doctors, not a entire hospital staff.

The thought of moving during all of this sounds like a nightmare to me....my dh wants to move sooooo bad! I keep putting him off telling him we will be fine in this house for at least a year! I just want to enjoy the pregnancy and bringing the babies home. I don't want to stress about finding a house, packing, moving and getting setteled in a new home. (That is just my personality, I have to be in control of everything, a little personality flaw  )However, in your favor, being pregnant gets you a free pass out of so many moving responsibilities!! I wish the best!!

MBG-

Well it's more like just I moved here, since my dh was already here. He is Israeli, so the cultural adjustment is all me, although he is extremely helpful and understanding. As far as health care here, yes it is very good. IVF is covered by insurance, so it's a blessing that we were already living here when I learned that I'd need IVF to become pregnant.

How is everyone feeling? I am pretty well. Definitely starting to FEEL my belly as well as 'seeing' it. It feels different now.

Health and hugs to all...
