Hi Tony
I'm going though PGD Wed or Thurs because I'm 42 & there's a high incidence of birth defects at my age. On day 2 they have 6 fertilized eggs, so hopefully we'll get through.

I agree with the philosophy of letting the embryo's go to 5 days, but since you're both young you may want to skip the PGD next time. If the embies don't make it to 5 days then something's wrong, but I think cutting out that extra step gives you better odds.
If you had a genetic disorder in your family that would be one thing, but I don't think you need to do it otherwise. Taking them to 5 days will eliminate the bad embies without jepordizing the good ones.

Good Luck

Tony,

I totally understand your situation. My dh and I have been ttc for 2.5 years with no success, ever after 2 IVFs. Did every possible test and most came out fine, but... just to eliminate any chromosome abnormalities, we did a blood karyotype test and mine came back with some minor(?) abnormality. So now my Dr suspects if I am producing abnormal eggs and wants us to do PGD. We are devastated with the news , but as a last option, we are going to do one more IVF with PGD anyway. Have you both done blood karyotype test? If so, was it normal?
I am also in the LA/OC Area.

Ammu.
