Hi Mandy,

Being a long standing member of this board I always love to hear from those who haven't been around for a while - especially with good news like this.

I can't remember now whether we cycled close together or not on the old board (my first cycle on here in July 2002 was with Tee/Kay/Lucy and a few others) but I have definitely seen your posts.

The first weeks after seeing that positive line drag like nothing you've ever experienced (the 2ww memories fade into nothing) so I hope Thursday is here before you know it and wish you all the luck for seeing that heartbeat(s). Well done for getting so far.

Lots of love

Fiona xxx
(24 weeks today!)

PS by the way, and any other 'oldies' reading, you may be interested to know that Aich has also recently managed to get pg - with TWINS!!! Just want to say a huge congratulations to you Mandy. I first visited the site in summer of 2002 but not sure if I remember you. I remember being so inspired by a girl called Chris who was successful on her fifth attempt. I never thought I'd be on this side of the board either and had started to seriously think about calling it day, but we had one last go (our 4th in total) with a FET and it worked.

I know it'll be hard, but do try and think positive as much as you can - wishing you loads and loads of luck for Thursday.

(Oh and good luck Dagny - I'm also 35 and had the nuchal scan at 11.5wks. I was terrified but thankfully all OK. It's just wonderful that they have the technology to do this test now - try and think of it as a great opportunity to have a good look at your bubs wiggling its little arms and legs about!)

Nicola x
21wks 3 days

Mandy

How FANTASTIC!! Sorry for the delay in replying. I don't get to log on as much as I used to. I still think a lot about all of the old crowd, although it seems like a lifetime ago.

Max is great - almost 13 mths now and full of mischief. He just smiles all day long which is great. I have been back at work now for 6 mths, so life is pretty busy.

I met up with some of the old crowd who were lucky enough to get pregnant around the same time - Miriam (with Joseph), JD (with Daniel), Sarah (with Amie and Ben) and Sally (with her tripets! Charlie, Niamh and Jenny). Our photo is on the site somewhere actually. It was lovely to meet the girls and great to see all of the little miracles.

Enjoy your pregnancy and take it easy. It is wonderful to achieve what you have been longing for for so long.

Love
Dee xxxx.
Hi guys,
well after my very happy last post, all was not well. At the 8 week scan they said the baby did not look right and we had to go back the following week to be told, no heart beat this was just the worst news ever. Chirtmas and new year was spent waiting for the MC which finally happend on the 5/1/04. it had been one of the worst times of mine and Dh life, but we must go on.
I started my 6th cycle and am currently one day post ET, in the dreaded 2ww . i have 2 lovely health embies on board, one 6 and one 8 cell , so i am praying with all my might that they stick around and make me a mummy.
Mandy
You poor love , but well done you for going for it again , it takes alot of courage and you certainly are determind , I hope you get the big fat + this time , put your test date on the post and we can keep an eye on you .Not sure if you remember me but I have been on this site which seems forever since Jan 03 and I am on my 4th cycle but this time with donor eggs , bit petrified that she will not deliver . I know that sounds harsh But it all gets a bit stressfull when your not in controll!
Anyway
Good luck girl

NEVER GIVE UP!
So sorry to hear your news. I had been wondering how you were getting on and had noticed that you had been very quiet. Sometimes you just think that someone is taking the piss when things like this happen.
We had a similar experience ourselves recently unfortunately. Found out a couple of mths ago that I was pg - complete miracle - no IVF. Obviously we were over the moon. Then at 7 wks it all went pear shaped. While we are obviously very disappointed, it was a very different experience having Max already. I have fortunately been able to get my head round things and can accept that statistically these things happen. However I am hoping that I have not just lost my only chance to give Max a brother or sister.
Hopefully you are encouraged by the fact that you did get pg, so it can happen. I am hoping that it will happen again for you. Good luck for this cycle.
I am so sorry to read your news. You and your DH must have been devastated after so many treatments too. It's all so unfair.
I too had a terrible start to the year. We found out at our 23 week scan that our baby had a serious heart defect and would need immediate surgery at birth but a week later I went into labour at 24 weeks and our daughter Katelyn was born. She died 3 minutes later. All our hopes and dreams were shattered so I know how you and your DH must have felt when your baby didn't make it either. I thought IVF was hard but burying my child is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
I am so glad you are carrying on with treatment and I really hope your dreams come true this time round. We are hoping to go again when I get the all clear from my consultant on Friday. I have just started my AF the first since giving birth so hopefully things are getting back to normal.
Lots of babydust for you. Good luck Mandy, thinking of you and crossing everything.
Love Dagny xkx
