Kholt ~ So sorry to hear about the Miscarriage. But, if you can do the study go for it. IT is a fraction of IVF.

I met with the study cordinator here in boise and she said we only have to pay for the meds and hopefully they will be discounted as well. 3,000 - 4,000. We can't sign up for the study official until they get some finanialization done on the specifics. So we should sign our consent forms the first week of February. I am on CD30 when my cycles never ever go past 25 in the past 3 years. I am sure it will arrive soon. I couldn't get so lucky. But, depending on when AF shows up I will be doing IVF/ICSI in March or May. Eitherway once I am signed in the study it will stick. We refinanced our house we just bought in June last year. We have instant equity and are taking that out and using it for the IVF. No second mortgage or home equity loan for us. This study is a godsend.

Kholtan ~ I did PM you. Did you get it? And you just made me smile from ear to ear when your family member lives in Laramie. Small world. I worked for the University of Wyoming the entire time I lived there and met alot of people but she does not sound familiar. Probably if I saw a face. he he. I lived there for 10 years 97-07.. I would love to meet up with you and pic your brain.

Feel free to pick my brain aytime. Since I am at home with the twins now I am available anytime. Just let me know when.

Knrjack so how is AF cooperating? That sounds great!! I just went in on Thursday evening and met Dr Foulk. He is very nice! I got most my questions answered that they could at that moment. I also found out that I have to have sinus surgery on the 12 of Feb, so because I can't be on any meds 30 days prior to IVF I will probably end up in the second wave in May. That is what they will probably do for me. I guess I will be able to find out more at the end of the month when they figure out when they are going to start it. Anyway I am getting excited again!! Good Luck and keep me posted.

Kholt ~ Was that the first time you met with Dr. Foulk? Our first intial visit with him was a bit entertaining. He was frank with us, asked us our background personally and ttcing. With that he got out a piece of paper and wrote upside down with Baby = Sperm + Egg + Ovaries then explained quite humourously that these three make a baby and said we know from previous medical that eggs and ovaries are good so our problem is SPERM. Then looked at the 5 analyses that Wyoming made us do in 3 months and said well they were incompitent to make you do so many you have low numbers and that is why , then circled SPERM and said this is the problem. By the end of the appt Dh asked if he had a red pen to circle the sperm in and he pulled out a highlighter and said no but I have this. LOL. We liked how he told us who it is and not what we wanted to hear and spend useless dollars.

Glad you had a good appointment but I know how you feel about having to wait until May. I met with the study progam manager here in Boise last monday and it all depends on my cycles. The longer my last cycle went the better chances for me to do the one in March. I had a 31 day cycle and it was the longest ever. I hope it was enough to help me go for march. Otherwise I will be in the May one as well.

DH joked and said if we do the one in May that means my promise of a 2008 baby won't happen but you will have a big belly. LOL.

We just refinanced our house and we are getting enough in equity cash out to pay for the IVF/ICSI No extra loan which makes me happy.

Ok, I am rambling. So sorry.

Kholtan ~ Where is our snow they 90% promised. I am disapointed a bit. How are the twins doing? Tell me what is it like caring for 2 at a time? I personally am going to have 3 transferred and after 4 years I am hoping 3 stick. I may not get to go this route again and I want a family of 5. LOL

Karen~ don't you just love Dr. Foulk's no brainer way of letting you figure out what's wrong? He did something sort of like that to us and we were sitting there answereing our own questions. Just love him!!!
Honestly, I loved being pg and twins were no problem at all. I'm not a big person (5'2" and maybe 115) but my body was just super happy with both babies and I just tried to eat well and take care of myself. I would carry twins again for sure! I did end up on hospital bed rest at 32 weeks out of nowhere but it really wasn't so bad.
When you get pg I have a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL OB/GYN and a FABULOUS Pediatrician if you would like to interview them. I searched and searched for both because I really wanted to best fit and the best person I could find and I am SOOOO blessed to have them both.
Good luck! The babies and I hit Barnes and Noble today since it's so nasty out side! Snow???? Yeah where??????? Bummer!

take care!

Knrjack- he sounds like a fun Dr, I am glad. I didn't really get that funny part of him. Well I guess I kind of did. He seems really awesome. My husband couldn't come and so my sister in law came with me. He probably would have cracked some jokes if he had been there because my husband cracks jokes and is way funny. So I always like my dr's when they are funny!!! It makes me comfortable that way. My husband is also having medical issues so, I think ours will definately be in May. So I hope that you will get to do it in March because I am sure you are very anxious, but if not, we will get to do it in the same month. That will be fun!!!

Kimberly ~ Too funny I am 5' 2" as well although I have alot more fluff on me and not so trim at all. Yes, please I would love the info you have on a OBGYN / Pediatrician as well. I am starting the search. Ideally it would be nice if they fit under our insurance plan as well. Boy we got hit yesterday with the snow aigh? They closed down the college I work at at 2pm and I had the lovely job of scrapping off my driveway and sidewalk of 1 foot drifts. I hurt today. Wonder if we will be hit again tomorrow like they say? he he

Kholt ~ I am getting very anxious to start on the study. tomorrow is the 31st and they said they would be signing up people here shortly. I think I may email my contact person tomorrow an ask how things are coming along. Feels like forever since last monday when we went in. Sorry DH wasn't able to meet Dr. Foulk. I am very happy with going with him 100%. Just nervous about what ifs? What if it doesn't take what if the study falls? Just waited so long to get PG I want this so badly.

I still haven't heard anything on the backup sample. I am sure I will get that information when we go in again. BUt makes me nervous too. Seems like things are still on the unknown scares me so much.

Knrjack-yeah I am excited!! This is a great thing. I totally understand the "what if's" I mean I am on my second round and it is crazy to have all the unknowns. But, it will all work out the way it is supposed to. I know that, but it doesn't make some things easier to deal with. I hope to hear from them tomorrow or at least monday. But soon we should know more!! Have a great day and good luck!!

Kari ~ Don't give up. They are still adding people. Dr. foulk had us signing preliminary consent forms. We are definetly in it though just have to wait for final advisements to start meds. but, they said we have to start meds within 90 days from today. The study is a nice one just on the progesterone vaginal ring versus the gel. We read through and signed over 20 pages of documents. AUGH. We will be doing IVF in April or May. this will be nice.

Kimberly ~ How are you doing? Did you enjoy your day with the twins at Barnes N Nobles?
