We are now at the Marriott at the Prague airport waiting for our plane tomorrow morning. A nice last day of our 'holiday'!

There is great news and not so great news.

The not so great news is that of the 12 embies that fertilized there were none left for freezing. The clinic said that they are very picky so if they aren't grade 1 they won't freeze them - I had no idea and felt sad letting the 'less than perfect' embies go to waste.

The good news is that we transferred 3 grade 1 blasts. I hope that means good things for us!

Jen, glad to hear that both embies thawed and are looking good.

Of course, I've been lying around all day wondering what is going on in my body. I am trying to convince myself that it is going to work this time, but there is a little voice inside my head trying to prepare myself in case it doesn't. geez, pretty bad for day 1. Thankfully I'll be testing on Feb 6th! The clinic really left it up to me and since my first clinic tested 2 weeks from ER then I figured I would go with that theory and lessen my 2ww to a 9 day wait.

Andrea, how are you doing? Did your ET go well on Saturday? What did you end up transfering? When do you test?

So, who is next? Anybody heard from Carolyn or JenB lately? Hope they are doing okay...

Hi Ladies, so sorry I have been MIA for so long. Our computer 'died' just after xmas and it has taken forever to sort out a new one. Also I have had some problems with my work who were refusing to let me go back part-time (4 days a week!) so I had to get my union involved. It wasn't very pleasant and took up a lot of my time and energy. All is resolved now and I go back on 10th March. So am busy enjoying my last days of freedom...

Enough about me! How is everyone? Jen on your 2ww!! Yeeehaa! Everything crossed for you.
BigJ many congrats, wishing you a happy and healthy pregancy. Hope 3rd embie issue resolved soon xx

I haven't had time to scroll back and read all the posts, is there a list somewhere for feeble people like me to catch up?

Needless to say you ladies haven't been far from my thoughts. I will make some time and read the posts properly as soon as I can. I feel like I have lost the plot somewhat!

Just so glad to be back on line!!
Big hugs all round. Good luck to you all at whatever stage you are at
Bye for now, keep the faith
Anna x

Kelly and Jen, a heart-felt welcome to your cute little passengers! Let's hope they stick around for a 9 month ride!

Big J, I know everything will work out for the best. Your little babies are going to be beautiful and we can't wait to see the pics!

Andrea, when are you going for your transfer? I think mine will be around March 3 so hopefully I'll have some good company!

Hello to everyone else out there. Hope everyone is doing well and surviving winter. It's really cold here in Boston, but I'm looking forward to yummy Superbowl snacks this weekend (go Pats!!). Stay warm!!

Hi girls

Kelly, Jen - hope you had a good trip back and are now joining me on this crazy roller coaster train wreck of a two week wait! I'm planning on keeping myself busy but it's like I have OCD or something as I can't stop thinking about it all...!!! Trying to remain relaxed as possible :)

Last Sat I had three grade 1 embies transferred and froze two. As it turned out we had a jamm packed social weekend but managed to slip under the radar as DH attended some on my behalf and just told everyone I was ill. None of our friends here know about this as the expat community here is soooo small (think of Wisteria lane from Desparate Housewives...)!!! Actually was quite glad to get out of one of the parties which was, of course, another baby shower...

Testing 11th Feb which is ages away. So Jen - we'll find out together! Actual date was meant to be 9th but it is Chinese New year here next week and half of Asia completely shuts down. My last clinic would have tested 10dpt3d which would be next Tuesday (same calculations as you Kelly!!!) I suggested it to my new doc and she said it would be too early, but I know the BT can detect miniscule amounts of HCG at that stage. I'm going to go completely nuts so I'll need all the strength of you ladies to stop me from buying those evil HPTs...

Rebecca - Yeah, I thought we'd be cycle buddies together too but this month has just got away from me (see previous posts!). It's Feb tomorrow so your transfer is just around the corner. Good luck for all the preparations!

Thanks for well wishes from everyone - And big hi to all :D

Andrea

 Well girls you didnt get rid of me as i'm back

Wont bore you with all the details but all went fine.

Was dreading going to Girona airport but found it really easy and fast. Straight off plane, straight on to bus and 10-15 min walk to Hotel Montblanc, which was really nice, airy and clean plus 5 min walk if that to Las Ramblas. Found it so much better to stay near the centre then just travel over to IM which took 15-20 mins on the metro.
Sunday everything was closed but we walked from hotel to end of Barcelona---i kid you not---along the beach and past twin towers (port olimpia) and beyond. Took 2 and a half hours but was gorgeous in the sun.

Anyway had my diazipam and felt lovely and calm and a bit dizzy this time but et was a breeze. Dr a bit confused about why its not working as she said our embies are good and all the tests in UK and IM are al clear. Think this is sometimes more frustrating-----WHY IS IT NOT WORKING????? Was pleased about our embies being a 10 and 7 and Dr said they look good and are continuing to develop well with no cells lost.
So the wait is on but i am taking a day at a time and praying hard. Going back to work on Monday.

So back to this dreary weather. We just love Barcelona and was a bit sad there might be no more visits there---we'll see.

Glad that there are more people coming back, was getting quite quiet round here.

First Carolyn and JenB are fine. Both taking different medi but just needed some time out. I deep in touch by email so will let them know you were asking for them.

Anna - Great to hear from you, though you had disappeared for good. Glad your work is sorted, bet you are dreading going back. So Matthew has little toothiepegs, bet he is gorgeous. Will you try for another?
Can you remind me what grade embies you got put back, sure it was less than a 7 am i right?

Kelly and Andrea - So glad everything went well for you both, here's to the 2ww for us all. Am trying not to think about it---haha doesnt go away. Got a sore back at the moment but after so much disappointment i am just chilling for a few days then will carry on as normal. Am waiting on the neg result already but hey---you just never know, right?

Rhall00 - Glad to hear from you again. Whats your plans?
So am off to the couch---nothing like a bit of chilling and some trash tv.

Ok off to chill, catch you later

Love Jen x

Hi gang

Am fine today, feeling nothing and not looking into anything as i have been there before and it got me zilch. Actually i feel so normal that i think its already over :?: :?:
Kelly and Andrea, hope your doing better??

Got a bit of disappointment just now. Remember the hospital here in the uk have offered us a free cycle, the only problem is i need eggs, so they advertised for us but i just got an email saying only 2 people enquired about donating eggs------i am gutted. If this cycle doesnt work then the free cycle is our last chance and if we cant get eggs then we wont even be able to do the cycle. The hospital said they will wait another week then put the add in the paper again but i feel so scared this might be our last cycle now

There is some positive news, we have been appointed a social worker (s/w) to deal with adopting and she is visiting on the 5th, so at least thats moving forward--------------but i want to have my own baby.

Oh god this is so hard, what did we all do to deserve this crap :?:

Will pop in later when i find my smile and sense of humour

Hi!

Jen, hang in there! Did you think of posting a thread on the egg and embryo donation section of this board. I know I read a few from women who were interested in donating and lived in the UK (not sure where). Just a thought. Another place you might consider is on craigslist. I know it seems crazy, but why not... you have nothing to lose.

I, like you, am feeling nothing and trying not to read into anything. One cycle I got cramps that felt like AF so I cried thinking it was over and then I ended up with a chemical pregnancy. Then the last cycle I got the same symptoms so I was then convinced I was pregnant (given my previous experience) and I wasn't. So, I figure there is no point analyzing the symptoms! But then that freaks me out too! Geez, am I going slowly insane?

I heard from my old clinic who said that I can go there for my beta test on the 6th which is great because it means I'll get the results the same day.

Andrea, how are you doing?

Hope everyone else is doing well! Thinking of you all!

Hi Kelly

Thanks for the reassurance, just have to wait and see i suppose.

Havent posted on the embryo donation section. Was going to wait and see how this advert goes first. Anyway is it not complicated, how can they donate when they might live far from us. Wouldnt it involve payment and more money?
What is craigslist?

Thanks

Hi girls - I'm still hanging in here - just...!!  :D :(

Thanks Jen for finding that long lost list - you're a super star!!!

Feeling a bit schizaphrenic so far. At times, I'm completely the voice of reason - if it's worked, its worked - if it hasn't, it hasn't. If not then we'll just move onto Plan B (or should I say Plan XYZ by now...!)
The rest of the time I'm a nervous wreck and convinced I have really bad PMT already. I have used that excuse to lash out at my poor DH (whose probably used to all this by now!!! ) But am lucky he is incredibly understanding about this whole thing, especially now we have moved onto DE and have better stats thrown into the equation, rather than using my tired old eggs...!

Jen - good luck with finding a donor, which I'm sure you will. Sorry, I don't know anything about the UK system there, but it sounds like a great back up plan. Especially when you don't have to pay for it, that's definitely one less thing to worry about - I love the sounds of your NHS. You better be careful tho- you could end up with an entire family on your hands by Christmas, when your adoption plans come through and your BFP too! Good on you!

Kelly - You're not going insane dear! Anyway, I think it's our right to 'express' ourselves in however way we feel like it over the next couple of weeks - just cos we've earned our time just to get to this 2WW. Lets try to enjoy it!!??

Well, I have a hot date with the couch tonight and a pile of DVDs to get through - while DH is busy slaving away in the kitchen and chauffeuring me back and forth to the clinic (hey - I'm not milking it at all...!!). I had to go in for some PIO shots as my BT found that my progesterone levels were dropping. Yay - I just love that feeling like you've just been kicked in the butt by a horse!

Have a good weekend all
Take care
Andrea

Hi girls

Well another day over, thank god, bit scary though eh. I want the days to go by quickly so i dont have to go through the 2ww but i want them to go slow incase i get bad news again

The only thing that scares me is that i have never managed to get a bfp before and think i never will so its probably time to give up very soon. I really believe if you have had a bfp then your time will come its just a matter of waiting longer------but it will happen.
The Dr's in the UK and Barcelona keep saying there is nothing wrong with me and all the operations, tests and embies are clear and fine---then it should work---its quite clearly is NOT and its so frustrating :x

Have been resting well but off to the cinema for a couple of hours as dh want to see Cloverfield and i'm being a dutiful wife and going with him---well its only fair, he usually puts up with the films i want to see  then its back to chilling with mother over for tea.
I always feel guilty if i go out and about so i try to rest as much as possible but i also will have my butt back on the couch after the cinema. The way i look at it is---if i do the best i can then i cant look back and say, i should have done this or i should have done that---i tried my best---------wonder how all the drug addicts get pregnant without taking care of themselves or eating right?????

Had a few af feelings in the old tum this morning but they went after bout 10mins. It was just when i had taken my pessary so i think its was the medi??? JenB has informed me today is my implantation day but i'm to scared to think it might be this---scared of the disappointment again.

Andrea - You sound manic-----made me laugh---calm down babe, better get to that couch fast haha. Understand only to well about Plan XYZ
Hope your right about the DE stats---then it should work for us. My clinic says within 3 cyles i should get pregnant---well they better start praying or their stats will go down after this cycle

Kelly - Insane---welcome to Andrea's world haha, she made me feel tired reading here last post. You hage in there babe, your nearly there only a few sleeps to go.

Ok off to the cinema. Catch up later

WAITING WAITING WAITING  Oh god that ticker is going so slow

Hi My Fellow 2wwers!

I am feeling very positive now - no idea why, but I am convinced it is going to work! I think I'll just enjoy this high because I know it is going to change soon - the rollercoaster of the 2ww!!

Jen, I am with you on the dr's telling you that there is nothing wrong so it should be working. I've been hearing that since my first IVF cycle and still nothing! It is very frustrating but perhaps in my case DE is the answer - who knows?

I am at work right now but my DH and I have a nice dinner out planned!
We had a huge snowstorm yesterday and while my DH was out snowblowing and shoveling (3 times) I was sitting on my butt in the warm house cuddling with my pup. I suppose we should get some benefits from having to live through this 2ww!!

Hope you guys have a great rest of the weekend!

 Hi girls

Kelly and Andrea, how you doing today?

I'm feeling fine--- actually very calm, its scares me
Whenever i think i feel something i try to wipe it out of my head so i dont get distracted with thoughts about what if it works, what if it doesnt--again. Its always the second week i find scary really so will just plod on until then.

Been cooking lasagne (healthy one) and salad for tea and now away to chill and do my nails.

Back at work tomorrow and not looking forward to it as the kids are being brats apparently and i've got into the habit of being at home-------hey ho, got to earn the pennies

Hi - I think I've calmed down now...

Resignation has now taken the place of my mania... I'm so convinced this hasn't worked that I've booked a trip away in the next couple of weeks time. Actually, it's one we've been putting off for months now due to this treatment. (My MIL is ill so thought we better get back to see her while we can.) Anyway, if this cycle doesn't worked, it will be a nice distraction. It is does work    , then I'll reschedule my flights.

Anyway, how's my fellow 2 week waiters? Kelly - you sound great! (What's your secret?!) Jen - Good luck for your social worker's visit tomorrow. if you get a chance, say Hi to Jen B - we miss her!

Here's the latest weird and wonderful thing I'm into at the moment. When I got my bio chem last time, my uterus and boobs had started softening even before I tested positive so I knew I was pregnant already. I read this begins to happen sometime in the 4th week. So now, I'm desparately poking all different parts of my anatomy to test them out! How crazy is that?! (Take note - this is NOT a scientific way to test for pregnancy!!!) But thought it would make you girls laugh at my maddness...!!!

Have a good week all,
Andrea
