I'm going through my first round of ivf, and was given my meds before they did a blood test (evidently my clinic don't personalise meds!) anyway they then did the 3dpo blood test and told me i had a fsh level of 11.5 but still kept me on a low dose of stimms (menopur) im waiting for my next scan on wednesday to find out if the stimms are working but not hopeful.... anyone else herd of this / been thru this? Am i banging my head against a wall????
I also had a high fsh (13). Because of that and my age (37) the docs put me on an aggressive dose of menopur and gonal f. I responded well and became pregnant w/ twins. My sister-in-law also had a high fsh and they started her out on a normal dose of menour. Her eggs were not developing as fast as they should and then upped her dosage which did the trick. Hope this info helps you.
My FSH has been around 13 since I was 33...I am now 37. I just finished my first round of IVF and when I started stims my FSH was 8.69! I was on 300ius of Follistim for 5 days and then 300ius of hMG for 5 days. We got 8 follicles, 7 fertilized with ICSI, and we now have 5 frozen blasts. My lining was too thin to transfer.
I am 34 and have borderline FSHs, around 9-10 at day 3. First IVF cycle I was on 2 vials (150IU) menopur plus 375 IU gonal f and lupron- 2 eggs retrieved, 1 fertilized, BFN. Second IVF, same as above except antagon instead of lupron and plus 200mg clomid - 2 eggs retrived, 2 fertilized, BFN.
I've heard that the first IVF is sort of like a test, just like the first injectable round for IUI. I know it sucks, but if they don't get it right this time, hopefully changes will be made next time.
Thanks for your info... fuess i'll just have to wait and see what the scan says tomorrow... i don't feel like there is anything going on down there... a while back i was on clomid and i felt lots of stuff going on, so im not holding out much hope!
