September 2008 babies

Post by LostGirl »

I wanted to start a group for mamas who will be having Sept 2008 babies. I still can't totally believe that I'm pregnant, even though tomorrow will be 7 weeks. But, we saw a heartbeat, so I guess that means I will most likely be a mother come fall.

Anyone want to join me on this journey into the unknown???

I also have been waiting for someone to start a september thread. I am just over 9 weeks and due on or around Sept. 2nd. I have been a frequent poster over on the ivf board for dec/jan cycle buddies. Hopefully some of my friends from there that will be due in sept. will come and join us.

I have had numerous ultrasounds and recently had my first appt with my ob. One baby, healthy heartrate of 175bpm.

michele,
did the ob gyn tell you anything you didn't know? I've been reading lots of books about pregnancy since I got my bfp and I have to say, there was little most of them about early pregnancy that came as a shock. I guess when you have more than 3 years of trying to conceive there's a lot of time to get up to speed! Maybe that's the only good thing about ivf??

So far, symptoms aren't too bad. I'm so tired all the time. But I just go to bed by 8:30 pm and wake at 7:30am. It's incredible that i'm still tired when I wake! I get a sour stomach but if I eat just a little something - handful of cherries say - it goes away. Sometimes I get afternoon headaches too.

How about you guys?

Lostgirl- Not too much new info at the ob. They definitely had a better quality u/s machine at the ob. I guess the most important thing we talked about was first trimester testing for neurological disorders and downs. I didn't even know it was available, and since it is just an u/s and no harm to baby, we are going to opt for it and hopefully skip the amnio.

I am also exhausted all the time. I have no drive to do anything, even though I will be bored out of my mind sitting around. I sit there, and I am bored, but I can not drag myself to get up and do anything. I also have been going to bed super early and still tired in the morning.

I have not actually gotten sick yet, but get alot of gags. I seem to be able to keep it down, but almost lost it today. I have been sick with a cold the past week or so, so that is not helping much. I just feel crappy all the time, I am wondering if it is the progesterone causing it, but I stop that next week, so only time will tell.

Lostgirl- Is this your first ivf? Also, when is your due date?

Don't have my 1st U/S until the 12th since DH is out of town until than so as soon as I know that the baby is where it is supposed to be and that everything is okay, I will certainly join. I see my Dec/Jan thread buds here so I know I'm welcomed.

I will keep lurking here until I get my U/S.

Good luck and congratulations to everyone!!

My due date is Sept 29th.

a stroke of genius

Post by LostGirl »

Hey,
This isn't my first IVF. My first cycle was canceled because I ovulated through Lupron, so I didn't even make it to ER. Too bad because I had 15 follicles. Anyway, that sucked. I was crazy and depressed for two weeks but one day I went for a walk, a long walk, and suddenly the fog lifted, and I was ready to play ball again. But I am so grateful that the second time worked. I am still kind of shocked at our good luck. I suppose it was about time for a stroke of genius to hit.

I think my due date is Sept 19th or so. I have my ultrasound on 2/11. I can't wait. I need all the evidence I can that this is for real, and that all my eating right and getting sleep is actually making a life.

I guess I'm skeptical. My dh has been so sweet lately though. He reads books like Expectant Father and i just feel like the luckiest girl in the world. He truly wants to be a dad with all his heart. It really touches me.

I felt great till today, when cottage cheese made me want to vom! Also I'm getting a superwoman sense of smell. If a co-worker 14 cubicles over has a nasty soup, I want to run away. But so far, I can eat. So that's good.

Goodnight ladies.... Lostgirl

I'll join this with Michelle - my buddy from the Dec/Jan thread.

I am due on Sept 6 and am 9 weeks pregnant today. The fatigue lifted a bit and no nausea, but I have had 2 episodes of bleeding (VERY SCARY) and you can see a big black spot on ultrasounds that is called a separation, but the nurse informed me is actually a blood clot. I really want to enjoy being pregnant, but there is still 4 weeks to go to get 'out of the woods'. We have probably told more people than we should, but certainly not everyone we know. It is driving me crazy not to exercise and I am more hungry than normal so I think I gained two pounds and now my pants don't fit. I am trying to be happy because I know dozens of women who would happily go on bedrest for 7 months and gain 50 pounds if it meant that they would have a healthy baby at the end of it.

Anyone else still nervous?
Melissa

Welcome MLB and washingtonda- I am soooo happy to see some of ivf thread friends are coming to join!

Lostgirl- I have also developed a super nose. It takes very little to make me gag now, but thank goodness no vomiting. I have not been eating as healthy as I should, because the thought of alot of foods makes my tummy turn. I seem to be ok with carbs, like breads and cereals. Those are my safe foods, which I worry about, because I know I am going to gain lots of weight. A while ago I lost over 70 lbs on a low carb diet, but it is all back now, so I know I will have a lot of work to do after baby is here. I am getting plenty of sleep though. One thing I loved about my ob was she told me anytime I need reassurance and want an u/s, just call. I told her I definitely will be doing that!

MLB- I know what you mean about out of the woods. 4 more weeks for me too. I am still nervous about saying I'm pregnant and I also have told more than I should have. I am dying to tell people at work, but have restrained myself and only told a few. I am trying to wait until I come back from february vacation to offically tell everyone else.

Washingtonda- We will anxiously be awaiting the results of your first u/s. And I know your beta numbers from the other thread...so we will be praying for our first momma of twins! Keep us updated.

Well just when I was starting to feel cocky about how good I was feeling compared to when I was stimming, I got hit with my first bout of morning sickness - afternoon sickness for me - and it wasn't pretty. It all happened I think because I dared to go two hours without eating a snack.

Anyway this Sunday - superbowl Sunday - was a whole 4 hours of feeling grim.

Are you guys dealing with this yet? How do you cope? I find that even if I'm nauseated, eating is what helps. So I force myself to eat something and then 20 min it passes.

(I'm 7 weeks 3 days)

lostgirl- I have been really sensitive with food lately too. I find that I need to snack or eat a lot of small portioned meals. I am also staying with my foods I like to call safe foods, like breads and bagels. Sometimes just the thought of something else makes my tummy turn. I haven't actually vomitted yet, but I get gagging episodes all the time.
