For those who are nearly there

Post by alison p »

Dear All,

Hope you all had a good Christmas. I spent mine being shouted at to rest and put my feet up!!

I cannot believe that we're nearly there. I have 3 weeks left tomorrow! However, my feet and ankles are so swollen that I'm not sure how much more I can stand. My BP's now fine and I don't have any other signs of pre-eclampsia, so I suppose that there isn;t much more that I can do other than rest with my feet up. Is anyone else in the same situation?

I've tried acupuncture, I've been to see an osteopath and I'm now on dandelion leaf tea - but nothing seems to work.

Shell - any news yet? I guess that it could be any day now for any of us.

I'm in contact with Adey, so will let you know if I hear anything (she's due on the 9th Jan).

bye for now,

Alison xx

Hi Alison,

I have been wondering how your doing, I'm still waiting, I will have 3 weeks left on Thursday. To be honest I have been at the hospital I have been having the midwife in to visit. My ankles, feet, fingers, face are really swollen. I did have a trace of protein in my water but on Saturday when the midwife come out she said there wasn't any but I did have a trace of blood. She said this could be due to I had some spotting on the 23rd Dec. She also done my b/p and usually mine is 110/60 but it was 120/78 but she said she is not to concerned about that. Not sure if you read my post but they don't think I am going to be able to born this baby naturally because it is a big baby so they recommend me to have epidural and I can try but any problems least they can get me in for a c section.

How are you feeling in yourself?

Please let us know when Adey as her baby, and say hello to her for me.

Love
Shell.
36wks 3d pg
xx

Hi there,
I've just had a bit of a freak out as i seem to be at the top of the list now!!! I can't believe this baby is coming out any minute now. I still think it'll be late rather than early but who knows. I'm 38 weeks and 3 days and the head is engaged. I've had mild period type pains in the evenings and am very uncomfortable but apart from that all appears well. i've got the midwife today so i'll let you both know if there is any news. Glad to hear you're both well - ish!
love Adey xxxx

Hi Adey,

Nice to see a post from you, It's nice that we can keep in touch, I'm not saying we will be able to post on here so much when our little ones arrive but as long as we do try and keep in touch that is the main thing. Adey I can't believe you don't have long to go, people are asking me now how I am feeling every day, like yourself I am also getting mild AF pains is this normal? I can't wait now can you? Are you all ready? Have you thought of any names?

Love
Shell.
36wks 4d pg
xx

:D Hi Shell and Adey,

(really like these smilie things that you can put on the messages!!)

We're nearly ready - we've been painting the nursery since Sunday (yellow over blue hasn't worked very well and we're having to do a 4th coat tomorrow). I get to sit on the floor and shuffle round on my bum!
Cot, etc is arriving next week, so after that we have nearly everything.
The hospital bags are packed and I got my TENS machine through the post this morning (ooh scary).

I saw the physiotherapist at the hospital yesterday and she gave me some splints for my carpal tuneel syndrome. They worked really well last night and I didn't have any pins and needles in my fingers last night. However, she couldn't do much for my legs / ankles / feet.

Well - hope you have a good New Years Eve tonight - don't drink too much!!

Adey - I'll contact you next week (assuming you haven't dropped by then).

Hi Alison,

Well like you I love these smiles :) but we have a reason to be all smiles don't we?

Well I am glad that your getting yourself sorted out, just sorry to hear that you are having to paint the walls more times then you thought.

I am all sorted now, well saying that I just need to pack a small bag for me for the hospital, majority of the things have fit in one bag but I just want to put a bath towel and hand towel in a bag for me and must not forget my camera.

I still have the bouncy chair to get but I will venture down town next week and get it, hopefully the shops shouldn't be so crowded, but Lee doesn't want me to go on my own now so I guess I will have to get someone to come with me.

 I wonder who will be the 1st to annouce the 2004 baby on here  its all so exciting.

Touch & Go I reckon.

Love to you.
and everyone else.
Love
Shell.
