It's been quiet over here! We must all be pretty busy.

Faith and hope--how's the pukey pump doing? I hope you're feeling better.

Laural--are both boys crawling yet?

Di--are you moved in?

Kimberly--Please update us on Bodie. Any news? Changes?

We are struggling through the sickies again. Both babies have had nasty colds all week. Boogers galore! :? Today, Braeden had a follow up appt about his ears and he now has a DOUBLE ear infection. The amoxicillin didn't kick it, so now we're on to stronger stuff....I hear that I should expect diarrhea. Oh, yeah. :( The poor little guy had to have wax scraped out of his ears too, so the doc could get a clear look. It was torture! I'm hoping we get out of this soon.

Hope you all are well! Update when you get the chance.

Hello Mommies!

Kim~ So sorry Mr. Trump is so icky! I hope both him and Ellie are on the mend soon! It's torture for everyone when the little peeps aren't well! I do think that Bodie had more loose stool on the meds but it's hard to tell since he is breastfed. Are they getting any sleep? Are you? Hopefully the new med will kick him into high gear and all will be better soon!

We have actually had a pretty good week but they have been a handful this week so it's been hard to type. The Neurologist had some really positive things to say. Yes, he has the Benign Exterior Hydrocephalus BUT he shouldn't really have any problems at all from it. He may have a hard time with developing anything that has to do with his head being heavy but in time he will simply grow into it. He may always have a slightly larger head than normal as well but it won't be noticable. YEAH! We do have to be careful concerning his head and any falls but we don't have to be freaks about it.
Having said that I'm sure you are all wondering where the pain comes from??? So are we!!!!! No one knows but they episodes seem to be spacing out further and even perhaps going away. No one can figure it out at all. Since no Medical Specialist can figure it out but they have seen it themselves they are simply diagnosing it as SEVERE colic. I am not kidding! Since colic has no real cause or treatment it is able to fall in that category. As long as it goes away we don't care what they call it!
Our biggest issue lately is constipation! I'll take poop over pain anyday! :D Any suggestions???? Hers is hard as a rock and his is loose but both have it no matter what I eat!???????? Motherhood and the daily riddles?

Hope all is well with everyone. Can't wait to hear about everyone's daily grind. I think I'm the only one who can't view Laura's video. :cry: So bummed because I bet it's adorable.

Faithandhope~ How are you feeling?? You are one tough cookie! I'm sure the weight gain will eventually hit ya and as long as the babies are well I wouldn't beat yourself up over it. I worried about mine and it did me no good but the babies were both fine. Good luck!

Quita~ Hi! I hope all is well! PICS!!!!! We need our newborn fix!!!!!! I'll be forced to have more if I don't get pics soon~ :wink:

Well, we are again heading to the mountains tomorrow morning even with ALL this snow! I have never seen this much snow here at our house. LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I am lso ooking forward to snowmen and snow angels and pictures of them in mittens next year!

Hope all is well! Take care everyone!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to quickly post a response for Kimberly regarding constipation. If you give them 3oz of warm water with a tablespoon of maple syrup that should do the trick.

Hope everyone is good and there littles ones!

Kimberly---just wait until they eat solids! That's when the real tough stuff come out! :shock: I'd check with your doc before you give them anything. They're close to eating solids, so he might be okay with the maple syrup thing (altho I've never done that...). We use prune juice or apple juice. You can mix it in with a bottle. Doesn't Bodie take a bottle sometimes? If Annelise is just bfing, then I guess that won't work. Are you drinking lots of water? that could help too. Oh, and the thermometer trick...have you ever done that? Just take their rectal temp....it seems that the rectal thermometer seems to stir stuff up a bit. Not immediately, but soon after...in fact, last night I was taking Ellie's temp, and I couldn't keep the thermometer in because she was making me a gift! ha! :lol:

Quita- Congratulations!!! I can't wait to see pictures.

Faithhope- I have had lots of pts who have been on Reglan or Zofran pumps. They work really well. Our hospital uses Zofran pumps more often than Reglan. So if the Reglan doesn't work well for you, you could suggest trying Zofran to your doctor.

Kimberly- Try 1 Tbsp of Karo syrup in their bottles. That works really well for constipation. You can also mix 2oz prune juice and 2oz water and give them that. Jeremy likes the Karo syrup much better than the prune juice! When you clicked on the video, it didn't run?

Jeremy now spends his time crawling over to Nicholas and stealing his toys. He grabbed a hold of Nicholas' bib with both hands and was trying to pull it off him. Poor Nicholas looked like he was being choked! I tell him no and give the toy back to Nicholas, but I don't think Jeremy understands or he just doesn't care, because he keeps doing it. He also goes over to the dogs, grabs their fur and tries to crawl oon top of them.

Nicholas has a cold and, yes, yet another ear infection!!! He had his tubes put in 3 weeks ago, so I had hoped that would stop the problem. He woke up on Thursday with all this dried yellow mucus in his ear. I guess the good thing is the tubes cause the infection to drain out, so it isn't trapped behind the eardrum. I am giving him antibiotic ear drops, but there is still nasty stuff draining out. We go back to the ENT on Tuesday. He is also developing a cough, along with the runny nose and ear infection. Poor little baby!

Jeremy is too busy tormenting his brother and the dogs to get sick!

Laura, you crack me up! Your Jeremy sounds like my Ellie--always harassing her brother! She too, is trying to climb and loves to interact with the dog! Your Nicholas and my Braeden seem to be similar too...ear infections and more passive. Poor boogers....As for the ear drops--is that what you give once they get tubes? My dad was asking why Braeden wasn't on ear drops, and I had no idea they even existed. Can you educate me?

Hello!
We had 2 appts. for the twins on Friday: one with the regular OB and a 2 hour ultrasound/battery of tests with the specialist. Both went well and the twins are strong and healthy! Despite all this crazy sickness I have been having with the hyperemesis, they are actually a few ounces bigger than usual at this point, which is always a good thing!

They are both down extremely low (it's ok) and we watched Baby B kick Baby A a whole bunch! We were spoiled since we were at the specialist's office and go to watch a Level 2 ultrasound for an hour and then he switched it to a 3D/4D that people normally pay for, just for fun for 30 mins! Baby A yawned and played with "things" (you figure out what there is to play with in there and lets just say it wasn't the umbilical cord!) and got kicked a bunch by Baby B. Baby B was sucking his thumb and kicking Baby A in the head. (-;

We are beyond thrilled and so excited the boys are doing well, despite how sick I have been! Also, I gained some weight (still not to my prepregnancy weight yet, but I have a feeling its coming!) so I don't have to get on the Reglan Pump like the home nurses suggested. Yea!

After seeing the twins on Friday, we have decided to name Baby A-Jackson Patrick and Baby B-Colton Andrew! (-;

Thanks for thinking of me, ladies! I haven't gotten sick in 2 whole days, so I think week 18 was the magic week for me!

Kholtan....you must send pics of the twins in the snow! (-;

quita--that's great that they're sleeping so well! Mine were about 12 weeks (9 weeks adjusted). I've always heard around 12 pounds was the magic number, so you're right--advanced! :)

Posting pics is very easy. go to photobucket.com. Our login is IVFgroup and the password is IVFgroup. Up at the top, it'll have a place to download photos. You hit the first "browse" button, and find the pic you want on your computer. (I assume you've got some downloaded on your computer already? If not, then have DH help you...those directions depend on your computer and camera) Once you've found the pic, you can put a caption and click "ok". It's pretty quick. If you have trouble just pm me. I can try to walk you through step by step.

Hey everyone!

Quita~ Hope to see some of your photos soon! your little ones sound little like mine. Here at 5 month mine are still only 12.5 and 11.5 lbs. I don't worry about it though since we aren't very big parents and they are both growing nicely. Sounds like they are both sleeping well and what more can a mommy ask for?????

Faithandhope~ LOVE your names!!!!!! Sounds like you have been doing so much better as well! PHEW! I never had a day of MS so I don't truly understand how grateful you are right now but I can imagine! Keep up the good work!

Kim~ You never had ear drops? We had the whole kit and kaboodle! I think the ear drops are basically lightly medicated and mainly numb the pain. We hardly used ours but I do think they may have helped some. How are the new car seats working out?? Sounds like they are so much fun right now. Can't wait for more pics!

Laura~ You are so whitty! The boys sound like quite the duo of entertainment. Sorry to hear the little man has yet another ear infection. I thought they wouldn't get them anymore after tubes??? How is he today?

Erin~ Thanks for the suggestion! The constipation seems to be at bay today so we'll wait and see what happens here shortly!

As for us. . . Like I said, the constipation seems to be under control here. We were just simply taking his temp. and that did work but oddly enough he gets constipated and yet still has loose stool??? Go figure. All seems to be well right now. Annelise seems better as well. I was drinking so much water and eating tons of fruit but who knows why it came or went. Like you said Kim, solids should be really fun!

Went to the cabin this weekend and got snowed in!!!!!! We were literally stranded in the middle of no where and with TONS, I mean TONS of snow! I have never seen that much snow here EVER!!!!! It was too deep to even go play outside in it unless we were on the snowmobiles. I am talking over our heads deep! Then last night we went out right after they plowed the road and BARELY made it. We had to punch thru snow drifts on the side of the mountain and ended up getting stuck! Had to put on chains and dig our way out. I am not kidding! We go to this area in between Boise and Sun Valley but the little town only has about 75 people when everyone is home so it's not well maintained. Thank God we made it home! I have never been so happy to see the interstate! We caravanned out with a group and I'm so glad we did!

MIL stopped by today on short notice and managed to screw up both naps today so the kids are on meltdown and I have tons of junk to do before we head on vacation Thursday so I better run. Did I mention that I have to cook for 18 people Friday night on this vacation???? hopefully someone wants to watch the babies! Good times!!!

I'll try to post DH's valentines day present on Photobucket right now. I picked it up today and it is sooooo sweet!

Hugs to all and loves to the babies!!!

kholtan: How about Chili? It's easy...a one-step dish, with shredded cheese, sour cream and onions as potential toppers...
AND Tostidos/chips crumbled on top...sounds like Chili weather where you are!!!
(for some reason vacation and cooking for 18 people ... well, those 2 thoughts do not go together for me! GOOD LUCK...where are you going?)

Faith...so happy you are feeling better...happy the boys are so well! gosh, you are moving right along and almost at 20 weeks...that and 24 weeks were SUCh huge milestones for me...now, at alost 29 weeks I am in disbelief at how fast time has gone. (I also didn't have much M/S, just nausea but no vomiting..now, in my 3rd Tri? Nausea has returned, can't eat fish, cuz of the smell and texture...silly stuff like that)

More later...wishing all babies healthy ears and 'poos' and so forth!

Woodcliff~ Chili would have been a GREAT idea, however, my night is Mexican night. :( I'm going simple and making big batches of chicken enchiladas, beans and rice, mexican salad,, homemade salsa and guac. with chips. Should be pretty simple. Hopefully I can make a Texas sheet cake as well but that may be pushing the envelope a bit far!

WE are headed to a beautiful place called McCall. You should google it if you get a chance. Our friends from Oregon come over every year and we rent this cabin that makes my house look like a dump and we play in the snow and go snowmobiling and skiing. The babies may put a cramp in my late nights but after the past years hang overs it may be a welcome new trend for me! :D

Just enjoying the quiet time while one baby is still sleeping!
