Anyone doing study with Follistim AQ and Ganirelix?

Post by jen8675309 »

Hello All ~

Anyone doing a trial study sponsored by Organon USA that uses Follistim AQ and Ganirelix? It's a study that looks at the effects of BCP on IVF. I was randomized and put on BCP. Hopefully AF will start around 2/23 and I will start meds on 2/26.

I would love to know if anyone out there is also doing this study! I am in IN and going to Midwest Fertility Specialists in Indy. It would be great to have a buddy going through this study also!

Ghost ~ have you heard of this study?

Thanks!

I had not heard of that study, but Organon sponsors many studies.

If you're wondering about the OCP use, as many do ("I'm trying to get pregnant, so why am I on birth control pills???"), we use it routinely to get every patient on the same schedule.

There are potential benefits, like reducing or preventing dominant follicle selection (the natural tendency for only one follicle to develop). I'll be watching for the results -- in about a year or so. Studies take awhile.
