Thank you very much everyone! I've done two now and it hasn't been bad at all. I iced the area for a few minutes first while DH was prepping the shot, then after the shot, my DH massaged the area for a little while and then I took my dog Daisy Mae out for a walk to work it in. I'm sure it will take less and less time. I was so worried by looking at the needle and reading posts online. I am pretty sure it is getting into my muscle because I get the dull ache after, but I thought there would be a little more pain going in.

I am doing ok, got really bad heartburn everyday but its a small price to pay. getting fat now, still look fat to ohers that don't know, but hope a couple more weeks will sort that out.

I had 4 eggs retrieved and all 4 fertilized. If you can recall, I only have one ovary that can be visualized....my estradiol has been high each time for the number of eggs retrieved, so that is an indicator that it is there but they just can't see it. I am still planning to transfer only 1 tomorrow due to the size of my uterus. I know it reduces my chances, but look, I got BFP both times with 1 before, even though they ended in early m/c. But, I have a hunch they'll probably talk about the 1 vs 2 tomorrow.
Glad to hear things are going well for you! Thanks for your thoughts. I had heartburn with my BFPs, although short lived, so I can expect I'll have the same issue if I get lucky to have a successful pregnancy.

Hi. This is my second ivf cycle and I've always take the shots in the am. But after the 5 or 6th day, I can hardly keep my eyes open during the day. I"ve asked my nurse if I can switch to pm so I can be half way productive during the day. I'm going back to school, so I'm home all day, but I've had to take long naps each day. I'm hoping I can switch to pm shots!
I have to give myself the shot as my husband cant stand needles. I've gotten used to it and I use an ice pack to numb the area for about 5 minutes or so (the other day I left it on too long and had a mild freezer burn). I honestly do not feel the needle or oil at all and have very little bruising or soreness. A nurse taught me that trick and seems to be working. THe only draw back on giving myself the shots is that I can only really do them on my right side since I"m right handed. I tried the last cycle on the left and was just awkward.
