Positive but how low HCG is too low?

Post by Giacomo »

How low HCG is too low? I've got a positive result this morning. I had 9 eggs of which 2 succeeded and were implanted on January 21. About 2 weeks later, on February 4 I had my blood test and the results came with HCG of 96. I've been what I think is implantantion bleeding. I have continued with my progesterone shots, aspiring and Progynova pills. Could anyone please tell me if this is normal? The doctor said that it should be around 100 but that we need to wait. Any thoughts? I'm so nervous... Don't want to get excited and deceived immediately after. Please help if you understand this process.

My RE says anything over 50 is good on the first beta so I think you are ok. I'm still new to the whole beta thing but I did find this:

96 is okay.

The main thing now is for it to increase.

I started at 91. And it kept exceeding the doubling well. I hope the same happens for you!

Repeat your beta in 2-3 days. 96 is a good number for 14 days post transfer. However whenever bleeding is involved, it is always better to get it double checked for peace of mind. If it's implantation bleeding it should subside and from what I've read should be lighter than a normal period blood loss and free from clots or tissue. It usually only lasts a few days, unlike a normal menses.

Best of luck to you and congrats on your BFP!!
