Just did my first IM PIO tonight. emla cream and ice help for sure but could still feel it going in. Not that psyched about doing that for 10 weeks! but, that will mean I get a BFP so its worth it.

Does anyone know if you are supposed to put the needle all the way in? The needle is 1 1/2 inches. Pretty long...

Marin: I am sorry hun but all the way in! lol I know those stink! I think they got better with time though. Also, heat up the shot before you stick it in. If you ice your spot before hand it can hurt more actually (to me at least). I had a reaction to the shot tho...I am allergic to the oil so they put me on pills that go up my area 3 times a day which is a pain. I would MUCH rather do the shots which is weird to most people. But make sure who ever is doing the shots for you pulls back to check for blood!!

Marin - yes all the way in!! warm it up by sticking it under your arm for a while. They are a breeze afterwards. I don't use ice or cream, just put it in, and it doesn't really hurt me. Good luck!

Ditto. Heck we dont even heat it, either. We just do it...I think it is getting even easier with time, now.

What gauge needles are all you bad asses using for the PIO?

I think I am a big wimp. I was fine with the SQs but these I dread.

Wow look at all the mammas in this post!
Marin- use a heating pad on your bum for 10 mins, helps me a lot and yes, it goes all the way! I hate them!

Welcome keita!

Me- still huge belly and having to use maternity pants already

and I have semi flat tummy but boy is it out there. Have to go pee a few times every night, started a really fun book "girlfriends guide to pregnancy" funny!

Big question: How many of you are doing the amniocenteses test? I read about the nuchal test and I go back and forth on the amnio one... wondering what your thoughts are?

Katie - I sent you a pm.

I don't know what else to do, I feel huge, eating is uncomfortable, even breathing is hard. My tummy is so hard and dstended. I called my RE because I was nervous of having OHSS even though I didn't have too many follies, his answer was "comes with being pregnant" my belly is like a 5 or 6 month pregnancy and t is not getting better. He hasn't seen me since ET and won't see me until 2/19 for first u/s. Any other girls feeling this much discomfort? It is hard to sit down for a while...

Rio you poor thing yep i was like you with ds and twin you've probably got it worse due to how many have implanted i had to sleep or should i say lay as i couldn't sleep in a fold out chair almost upright for two weeks straight so i can sympathize with you i would definately go into your doc to let them look at you they can drain the fluid to make you feel better i hope it eases for you soon

LOOPIE & JCW- WOW...many congrats on your BFP'S.....JCW, a line is a line and im sure I read somewhere that someone who did a FET had a faint line because it was a FET (do not know why or how many dpt she was)

Mp- well done for not poas, you go girl

Rio- you sound worried, I would definatly go back to your dr's and make them listen to your concerns

Marin- thankfully we do not do the PIO shots but have to take pessaries instead, really do not know which are worse???!!

Tammy good luck for your beta, want to see the numbers

My frosties are being thawed today then I get the call tomorrow morning to let me know what time to come in for ET.... praying that all is ok

I just came back from my BETA HCG Test

The reading: 907 - It's BFP!!!

My Dr said based on the reading, it could be more than one baby. I am just too happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
