Who is dying to start an Oct 08 bump thread but......

Post by kalen »

Hi-
I got my first positive beta of 111 on 2/5, my second beta on 2/8 of 400 and now waiting for my first scan on 2/19. I have been reading the IVF threads and have gotten some real good info from all those ladies-I would loved to have joined in but after reading all the good stuff unfortunetly I would be too lazy at that point to give my 2 cents. BUT this waiting is the worst ever so I thought i would try to start some banter to make this time go a little quicker. I also didn't see any OCT 08 bump threads-obviously to early-but i have to think there are a bunch of you out there at the same point as I am. Every little step with the blood work makes me feel better than it just seems like waiting for the next step and getting through these first few months is just torture-every little twinge, every little cramp is suspect and it can really drive you mad. So we don't have to make this an official Oct 08 bump thread but can we at least hang out since we're in the same time frame? I think the distraction would be great!

Hi Rebecca. I am also in the same boat. I have my U/S on the 18th. I have been looking for an Oct. bump buddie post, but was too nervous to start one myself. I just felt like I would jinx it if I posted before the U/S. I really wish I could get another beta just to reassure myself. I just don't have that many symptoms. A little more tired than usual, but really not very much, a little nausea but again, not very much at all. My appetite is fine, and since this was an FET I am not bloated from an ER so I don't even have a big belly to show for it. All this should be positive, but for me is NERVE WRACKING to say the least. I have been having really wild dreams and I am chalking that up to hormones, I do remember that from my previous pregnancies.

My DH and I have gone on-line and have an EDD of Oct 7. Have you figured yours out yet? We have one more week to go until the U/S but it feels like years. I Have been trying to keep myself busy. Hope you are doing well, and thanks for starting the post!!

Hi Hoekey,
I felt the exact same way-didn't want to jinx anything. So i figured if i started something unofficial that would be ok. Yeah i can totally relate. I just want to get this first scan done to see whats going on in there. I don't have many symptoms either and everything i've read says that thats normal. I had some cramps on Saturday-nothing bad-but I worked myself into a tizzy about what it could be-then i spent at least 3 hours online researching which honestly can sometime drive you even more crazy. The only symptoms i have is the cramping and my bbs are heavier and sore. I'm always feeling myself up making sure they are still sore!!! No nausea either. My weight hasn't really changed much-I went up a couple of pounds during stims but it seems to have gone back to normal.
We figured online a dd of Oct 14. Trying to stay busy too but I was laid off from my job this past fall so not working isn't helping. I have more time on my hands to obsess about this. Well hopefully we can spark some more interest and get some good input and keep this going. I think it would be good to get us through even if its pretty early!

I would love to join the unofficial Oct 08 due date buddies! I wanted to start one but got a little nervous also, so I am glad one of us did! My due date is Oct 12th. My first ultra sound is scheduled for 2/19 also and the wait is killing me. Almost as bad as 2WW! I need reassurance that everything is ok. We are hoping for two and one would be great, we transfered 4 little guys/girls on 1/21, 1-10 cell, 2-8 cell and 1-5 cell! This wait for the u/s has been really hard, I am glad you girls started this post! I am having issues with my belly still being huge from the IVF swelling, I have to hide it at work because I look too far along! Looking forward to chatting with you girls during this 1WW!!! :D

Hi Fellow Bump Buddies!

I got my BFP last Wed and have been enjoying the ride so far. My first beta was 267 (9dp5pt) and my second was 597 so we are on our way!!! I am actually not at all nervous - I just feel like this has finally worked, so it'll all be fine. In fact, I asked for my u/s at 7 weeks instead of 6 - so it is scheduled for Feb 27th. I didn't want to have to worry if there was a sac without a heart beat. This way, there should be a heart beat so what we see is what there will be - I hope! We transferred 3 grade 1 (being the best) quality blasts so who knows how many are in there.

I am finding that my symptoms are coming on strong and fast - nausea, peeing like crazy, headaches, sore boobs and extremes from no appetite to starving. I feel like a crazy lady already but that is fine with me!!! Oh ya, and I am exhausted!!! If I can stay up until 9:00PM I am doing really well. Isn't that so strange that some pregnant women have no symptoms and others have plenty. But I am happy with the symptoms given what it means!

My EDD is October 15th (unless of course there are multiples).

It looks like you guys, Kalen, Riogirl and Hoekey all have your scans on the 18th and 19th so it'll be a fun few days to hear how many there are!!!

Hope everyone is doing really well!!!

Kalen, I had to lol when you said you were always groping yourself to make sure those bbs were still sore. I do that too, mine are heavy and sore, more so when not wearing a bra. If it wasn't for that I would really be worried  . I have been peeing a lot too, sometimes I get up 3 times in the middle of the night. I have cut back on water as much as possible after 7:30 just for that simple fact. I have one teenage daughter and one preteen so they keep me pretty busy, but it still feels like the days drag on and on.

Wow KellyM, great numbers, any feelings you might have 2 in there? Congratulations!! Do you at least get to have another beta check? That's pretty gutsy waiting another week, I envy you that you have so much self-control :D . But I get what you are saying about making sure that you will be able to see the hearbeat/s. I will be 6 weeks 6 days so I think there is a pretty good chance to see the heartbeat. Only one day shy of 7 weeks.

riogirl71, we transferred 4 little ones, 2 10-cell, 1 8-cell, and one unknown. We were only supposed to transfer 3 but the night before the transfer one looked like it was going to stall so they pulled another out of the freezer (I think that was the 8-cell). But the next morning when they checked just before the transfer, the stalled one, though a bit fragmented was still dividing. So the RE said that we could put that one back too and just see. He thought if left in the petri dish it would just fizzle so what the heck, why not. My numbers aren't really high so I think only one of them stuck. DH really wanted twins, but I am just so happy we're finally pregnant and he's going to be a dad. He is great with my girls but has none of his own, I know he is so happy, but he is cautious about getting too excited until the U/S.

Has any of you told anyone other than close family members yet?? We have only told people that knew we were doing IVF, noone else knows. We are waiting until the U/S but I wonder if we should wait until the 2nd trimester just in case. What are your plans? I am so glad that you girls are here to go through this 1WW with me. This is nearly as bad as the 2WW. Every little cramp, or twinge I see disaster. I find myself running to the bathroom just to make sure. I have one more HPT left and I plan to take that next weekend just to reassure myself before the U/S. Is that insane or what?

riogirl71, I tried to get a ticker in my signature but can't get it to work. The same one from baby-gaga that you have. Is there something special I have to do?

Hi,

Hoekey, I am thinking that there are multiples in there because of my high beta and my seemingly instantaneous symptoms. Now the questions is whether there are triplets - my DH is praying that isn't the care, but I'll be happy with whatever we are blessed with.
We have only told my mom so far and plan to keep it that way until at least week 9. One of my closest friends who lives in Switzerland is going to be coming to town on March 8th so I think that I will start to tell my close friends while she is home. I figure once we see the heartbeat we are in pretty good shape!

I must say that since I've been waiting so long for this BFP, I want to get out there and start buying things for the little one(s). Don't worry I definitely won't do that since it is WAY too early, but I am definitely looking forward to that!!

Yahoo!
I'm so glad that the 1008's are coming out to play. Even though we are "unofficially" doing it! I definately feel like this week before I get my first scan(2/19) will drive me slightly nuts. Hoekey-i know! touching my boobs to reassure myself that they are still sore is just craziness. I just want to see whats going on in there already!
As far as telling people we have told a very small handfull of people. 2 of my close friends who are sworn to secrecy, my mom, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law and thats it. I have had 2 surgeries that actually started last Feb(stage 4 endo and now only have one ovary)so family members knew details. We haven't told my hubbys parents yet-we are hoping to spring it on them on Easter dinner...My motherinlaw is great love her but she is a kind of a hen and they have a huge family with cousins popping out kids like machines and she is the only one left with no grandkids so we feel if we told her she would just not be able to control herself.....they've been wanting grandkids so bad so it's gonna be pretty fun to see the reaction though. As far as telling everyone else we won't be making any annoucements till after we're out of the 1st trimester.
I wish I could just relax a little more and accept this a little more but the ups and downs of this past year just isn't letting me and I always feel like I need to be prepared for the worst. This is my first IVF and everything so far has gone really well. My One Ovary That Could-gave up 11 eggs-4 fertilized and 2 were implanted. One embryo was really good-my clinic called it HIP(high implant probably) not sure if thats a universal term-but it was an 8 cell and the other one was a 6 cell fragmented. Anyways, here we are and I could not be more grateful for being in this spot right.
Stay Postive and Strong!!

Oh I am so gald that I am not the only one fondling my breasts  I even do it at work! I am getting my u/s at 6w+3d so I hope I can see 2 heartbeats! My betas weren;t crazy huge but they were solid, and I saw on this post that there were twinsis that didn't start with high betas so I am still praying and hoping!
Tammy- glad you came over to this side too!
Hoekey- go to baby-gaga and the code that has [img] on it, copy it and post it to your sig box, then delete everything before [img] and everything after the second [img] and it should work :) I transfered 4 also, seemed like the right thing at the time!
I am trying really hard not to tell anyone but it is hard, I don't know if I can wait the 12 weeks... My mom is dying wanting to tell everyone!
kelly- you are so brave - I could never wait for 7 weeks, I can't even wait right now!

Hi Girls!

I am so glad that someone started this thread! I have been watching everyone else with their IVF success and have been reluctant to post in case I "jinks" myself. How paranoid is that?!?

I also have an ultrasound scheduled for 2/19 and the wait is killing me. I had a really low initial beta of 55, but it went to 129, and then to 755 so that seems like it is doubling ok. I am assuming that there is only one in there and that is fine with me. We transfered 2 5d blasts of high quality and I think just one implanted late. My RE said that can happen sometimes and that may be why the first beta was low. All I know is that I will feel much better when I see the heartbeat and know everything is ok.

I have only had a few symptoms - sore bbs, some nausea on and off and some random crabbiness - although I teach high school and that may be the cause of the crabbiness!

Hoekey - I followed your story about getting so sick. I hope you are better now. I think we are on the exact same schedule. I will be due Oct. 8th.

As far as telling people, we only told the people who knew what we were doing with IVF (and very few of those know I used donor eggs) and I am dying to tell the world! I think we plan to wait at least until the U/S, but think we should wait until after week 10 or so.

I am so looking forward to having you all to go through this journey with!

Take care!

I think 2/19 is a very lucky u/s day! I can't wait to start a list with all of our DDs! :) but I am also nervous about jinxing anything... I so want to see that heartbeat (or two)!!!
gecko I had a 10dp3dt beta of 67, how many days was your beta? I think it seems fine and it is doubling so that's great. You could still have multiples, one couple in this board had low betas and now is having triplets!

Hi riogirl,

My betas were at 9dp5dt, 11dp5dt, and 15dp5dt. Even though they were on the low side - my clinic likes to see between 50-100 on a first beta- they seemed to be doubling well. You heard of someone with low betas and ended up with triplets? Yikes! I will be happy with whatever gift I have been given, but am really hoping that it is a singleton. At my age, I am afraid I wouldn't be able to keep up with multiples.

I can't wait until all our first ultrasounds! I think the week of the 18th will be a very busy week for us all. I think this wait is even harder than the 2ww......

geckogirl, I have absolutely no more flu symptoms. I get a tiny bit of a cough when I lie down at night, but really no biggie. It will be so nice to have some people to go through all of this with me.

riogirl71, I just ended up doing a tickerfactory ticker. I had tried before and couldn't get it to work, and this time, boom, no fuss no muss, and there it is. I think that there was a problem with the forum when I was trying to do it. I see that I was not the only one who had multiple posts, I wonder if that is why it wasn't working.

TammyS, I am so THRILLED to see you over here. You have kept such a PMA this whole time. Never believing you were going to get a BFN and here you are!! I am just amazed, it shows what believing in yourself can accomplish. I have been surfing your posts trying to see if you got your positive today. Missed the posts where your HPTs were coming out +ive. What a nice strong number. I think once you hit a certain HCG level those HPTs just can't get any darker.

My betas were, 11dp I think 3dt (maybe 2dt don't know if you add an extra day for FET) =50, 13dpt = 85 (scarey low, clinic thought this was not so good) 17dpt = 487. Just in case you wanted to compare these with yours. I'm positive this is a singleton.

Have a good night girls, one less sleep until our U/Ss!!
