having constipation with progesterone...

Hi girls,
Just have been having the pressaries of progesterone for 2 days, and having a terrible constipation. Is it normal?
As anyone taken an injection? Is it better?

The pessaries are horrible aren't they - its more the aftermath that is the problem!
I am a little constipated on them but only started on saturday. Have you been getting abdominal cramps?
My ET is tomorrow, hope yours went ok

Me too!!
I upped by water intake and started taking chewable fiber tablets and it's helped a lot. Pretty common side effect, I believe.

It happened to me too last time I was on Crinone. It sucks! Unfortunate side effect:)

I was soooooo constipated during my first cycle. Increasing fluids and fiber is good, you could try some metamucil (check wth your RE first). Also you could try taking 2 Colace at bed time, this is a stool softener available OTC (again, check with your RE first). If you get hemarroids (sp?) try a sitz bath to ease the pain....I used one with warm water rather than cold water and found it really helped.

I too suffer. I ate dried fruit, and also make sure to eat one apple and banana daily. Walking (or exercise) also helps un-block.

In addition to increasing water intake while on the progesterone, I also started eating at least 2 prunes a day... seems to work like a charm for me.
