Nicola, so sorry to hear about your MIL. My aunt died of cancer a couple years back, and she was "all natural", the whole nine yards. It's such a shame. I hope she's getting good care and not too uncomfortable.

How's everyone else doing? Jeck, good to see you're hanging in with us! How's your little guy...probably not so little, huh?

Racheal--hope you make it through this weekend okay. It's got to be a bit tough to be away from Makayla (and your boys, of course!). Enjoy this "mommy" time!

As for us, we can't beat this ear infection. It's now to both ears. Plus both babies have bad colds. Boogers are everywhere. Ugh! :?

Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't been about for so long. Have a read a few posts and glad everyone is doing well.

Kim- sorry to hear about the ear infections and colds. Are they still having antibiotics? Hope it clears up soon.

Nicola- sorry to hear about mother-in-law. Glad Jack is doing so well.

Joshua is doing great. He rarely gives me much trouble at the moment! He is just getting over a horrible cough and cold and was a bit miserable, and is waking in the night because he rolls over and gets stuck! Cannot believe he will 6 months next week. Will be starting to wean him on Monday although he doesn't even seem that bthered with his milk sometimes.
Tomorrow we are having a Thankgiving service for him, basically to say thank you to God for giving him to us. Going to be a bit manic, and know Joshua will be a bit miserable at some point as he often finds it hard to go sleep with too many people around and too much activity. Looking forward to catching up with some old friends as well.

Better go and get some things sorted for the morning.

Will check in again soon x

You gals must be busy...it's soooo quiet over here. Just thought i'd say hi!

Big news over here--Ellie's crawling! I'm going to try and post a video sometime this week. She's been gaining new skills each day for a week or so now, but this weekend she got pretty proficient! Her brother shows no interest...

As for Big B, he's been up a lot of nights lately. It could be his ears, but I have to think it's teeth. The only thing that seems to settle him is Tylenol. I feel like I"m "drugging him", but otherwise, he doesn't sleep and is just miserable. Any advice?

hope you all are well...

Hello Kim!

Do not worry about the drugging. You really are doing what you feel is best. If you talk to your ped will likely tell you to follow your instincts.

I am glad to hear your big girl is crawling. It was so very cool to see Makayla do it for the fist time. Now it will seem like she grows so fast now.

Makayla is doing okay. We picked up strep throat and she is now battling it along with some blisters on her tounge. Added to that mess is the fact that she has 4 teeth breaking through at once! However, she is a trooper and seems to take it in stride. It seems I am finally the lucky one. Makayla has been sleeping through the night every night since the new year. As for her development, she is pushing open doors and testing out the child gates. She is also crusing really well and she stands while letting go for about 5 seconds before falling down and laughing. She is so much fun now and I cannot wait to see her every morning. She does something new every day. She is also saying dadadada and mamamama and shhhhhh. She is much more vocal now and she cries a lot less than before. She grunts if she doesn't want the food we are feeding her and she squeals when she was it faster. We have so much to learn with her and it is a wonderful ride and I am truly blessed to have been given this chance. I thank God everyday that I have such a wonderful gift. I wish all of the girls here were able to get their gifts too.

Stay blessed,
Racheal Matos

hi there girls.... it seems like forever... we are ok, the house has been a sick one... DH had broncitis, 6YO DS has strep, 4YO DS has stomach bug, and Gavin has a cold.... me, i'm dealing with a tooth problem... it looks like my root split under my crown, now there is an infection there...oh the pain!!!

Rachael-how was your trip?? good to hear that makayla is doing well, ans sleeping good.. we are still waiting... gavin is still up a lot...yuck on the strep throat... it is going around everywhere here... the blisters are painfull... my other kids had that too... i too love watching all the new things that they learn daily... sounds like makayla will walk real soon... does she have one of those push cart things.. gavin loves his

kim-try not to worry, sometimes it just has to be done... have you tried the teething tablets.. they are all natural and helped... not as well as the tylonal, but i tried to do everyother.. awesome that ellie is crawling... havn't looked to see if you posted a video..

casy-glad that joshua is doing good... hopfully better from the cold... how did the service go? hopfully it was not that bad, and he did great... i know that it can be difficult when there is all the activity buzzing around... hope that it went well, sounds like a nice thing.

nicola- sorry to hear about your MIL.... hope that the specialist have some better news. good to hear that jack is doing well... have you done the swimming yet??

gavin is doing well.... he does the nononono with the head shake, and just getting the head up and down for the yes, but doesn't verbalize the yes yet... he found his squeel.... and cover your ears.. altho he doesn't say mama or dada... i'm hoping that mama comes first.. the other two were dada first. he is now crusing the sofa and everything he can pull up on... he loves the dishwasher, he too loves the gates, the stairs look so fun... he trys to do them, but can not get up them all... he is finally cutting the top two teeth, one is cut, the other maybe tomorrow (you can see it) so he'll have top teeth to go with his bottom ones that he has been bitting everything for almost 5 months.. he'll cut two more bottom ones soon... they are close...

well, take care all

I did post a video tonight...not the best, but braeden was fussy a lot tonight so I didn't have much time to tape her.

Thanks for the advice! He's sleeping right now...let's hope it helps. I'm off to the store tomorrow for those tablets!

Wow--cruising already? Oh, boy! Watch out gals! Sorry to hear about the sickies. Ear infections are bad enough here. Can't imagine dealing with all those other things...

WE HAVE A TOOTH---YEAH!!!! Unfortunately, it's from the wrong baby. Ellie got her tooth this afternoon. She was a little fussy, but not too bad. Poor Braeden....he just can't win, can he? I did try those tablets today. HElped a little, I think? We'll see how tonight goes.

cool- it figures that she gets hers first.... i guess that it shows that females can take pain better then males (i guess that is why we have the babies)... hope the tables helped a little... i used them inbetween the tylenol, so i could push the dose off a little....

is it a bottom tooth?? the next will follow shortly...

the video was cute... she's totally got the hang of it!! next is pulling up, crusing, walking... ect... i'm NOT trying to make her grow too fast..

i had a moment today... Gavin is getting so big, and just think that time is going to fast... i looked at him and he didn't look like the little baby... he looked like a little kid...

take care
col

ps (gavin did not wake up all night till 5:15am... 5:15 is early, and he was up for the day, but slept through the night....) i'm just not saying it too loud, cuz last time he was up every 1- 1 1/2 after he slept well one night..

well, gavin is not sleeping through, but he is doing better.... so i'll take that... hoping that it's the teeth thing now... he is cutting more on the top... soon he'll have 4 on the top to go with his two bottom ones (as my DH said his little chickletts) he also is getting braver on the walking... well really not walking, but he took a 1/2 step from the couch to the ottoman. And he'll stand there not holding on to anything for a few seconds and them falls (usually hard)

kim- how are teeth going?? ellie get the second one yet?? and any tooth news for braeden?? are they both chewing on EVERYTHING? actually gavin likes to bite the tylenol bottle... the little top part... makes me worry, but i'm right there... it seems to give him so much relief, i just can not take it from him...

are they pulling themselves up?

hope you are well, and staying warm (if it's anything like here) we are at 6 degrees and a negitive windchill
colleen

ps, i'm going to try and post some photos... we'll see if i get the time

Hello Girls.... long time no post - for me! Sorry..... however, we're still here and things are moving right along.

Kim- Ellie looks so cute in her video.... also congrats on the tooth! I'm sure Braeden will catch up soon enough!

Colleen- hopefully Gavin is doing well and sleeping better for you.... how are you liking this freezing cold weather? I hate it... I so want to move to TX or FL....

Rachael- I'm glad to hear Makayla is doing so well... she seems so advanced - that's great. How was your trip?

Casy- I'm so glad to hear Joshua is doing well... how was the service?

Nicola- I'm so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. I truly hope she gets the best care possible and isn't in to much pain. I just hate the C word... it makes me sick. I lost my grandmother to it awhile back and have never been the same after that. Please keep us posted on her and know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Well Aubrey is going to be 9 months on the 27th... that's crazy. I'm already in the process of planning her 1st B-Day Party - how scary. Well she is finally well... she had RSV last month and was just miserable. Thankfully she didn't have to be hospitalized for it - we caught it just in time... we still have no teeth but we are crawling all over the place now... she just loves it. She'll stop and just laugh for no reason - it's so cute. We are loving our foods and cutting back on our milk... we've also started sleeping through the night within the last 2 weeks... thank god. We also have our first Hook family vacation planned - we're flying into Maryland at the end of May and staying there for 3 days (catching a baseball game - Orioles vs. Red Sox). Then we're driving down to Virginia Beach and staying there for 3 days and then heading back up to Washington DC for another 3 days... should be fun - something DH & I have wanted to do for some time now... we can't wait.

Well I promise I won't be MIA anymore... I miss you all so much!

Tasha
