ANYBODY ON THE 3 WEEK U/S WAIT?

Post by Mbre »

Hi My Dear IVF Family.

I AM GOING CRAZY...I got my first beta 7dpd6t at 50 and a second beta 9dp6dt at 321. Now I am on a 2.5 week wait till my 6th week for a ultrasound. I am going absolute nuts. I constantly check for blood, and any sign of cramping i run to the restroom to make sure im not bleeding. I hear stories of miscarriages at 5, 6 ,8, 9 12 and even 20 weeks! WTF? I mean thats just mean to be that far along and then BAM a f**in miscarriage after what we went through to get to the BFP point! ( I know for many like myself with 2 failed priors, this road was not easy!)

I have 6 college friends all who have 11 kids between them are all preggo again(naturally) and when i express my concerns to them about miscarrying they look at me like im nuts. To them since they conceived naturally they are not "Certified Blog IVF Doctors" like ourselves who eduate ourselves of all the possible problems...I thought after we get a + test, that we are in the same stages as someone who conceived naturally? then why is it that IVF'ers are the ones with the MC? I dont know maybe i am going insane... I think I am..

Anyone on the 2-3 week wait for your first U/S?, what were your first 2 betas and when were they given?Any similarities? And what are you doing to get you throught the wait?

Hi,

Try not to less the stress of the unknown possibilities stress you out! Enjoy the fact that you are pregnant!!! You have great beta numbers so I wouldn't worry about it too much!!!

Its taken me 9 attempts to get here and I am giddy!

I had my beta 9pd5pt and my beta was 267. I had another one two days later and it was 597. I had 3 grade 1 blasts transferred on Jan 28th and now am waiting for my u/s which will happen at my 7 week mark on Feb 27th.

Come and join a few of us on the Oct Mommies To Be Club thread on the Pregnant after treatment board, there are a few of us there.

Wow, take a deep breath. You are going to drive yourself crazy whirling around in your head. Yes, miscarriages happen. Yes, it could happen to you but the hard part is done now. You are pregnant.

I highly doubt that stressing out the way you are is good for you. Find something to distract yourself. You don´t want to be a flat-out nutter by the time your baby shows up! :o

I have to say sleeping helped me too. Making sure to take naps on the weekend since I can't at work, and also making time to see friends for a coffee or just inviting them over for an afternoon tea.

Sleep above all though helped me get through waiting, and to stop stressing. Walking with soothing music also helped and is good for your circulation and the baby!

Hi Mbre,
Not to be a downer, but women who conceive naturally also miscarry. My sister just lost her baby at 9.5 weeks, it was her second pregnancy, the first was perfect and I have a wonderful 3 year old niece. But sometime things just go wrong. They say there are three reasons for a miscarriage. 1. your uterus is not capable of carrying a baby to term, 2. trauma (like a car accident or something similar) or 3. there was something chromesomally wrong with the embryo/fetus. Just FYI.

try not to worry too much!!

Yes, 1/5 (natural) pregnancies end up in miscarriage. I had one 1.5 years ago, which it's still emotionally painful by the way. Most women don't talk about it, and since it happens before you start showing most people don't know. The truth is that you'll be surprised to find out how many people around you have lost a natural pregnancy...I barely knew of anybody, once I had mine I found out about neighbors, friends, professors, classmates, even relatives (!) who had had miscarriages but were keeping it quiet.

In any case, relax and enjoy your pregnancy, it's a gift from God!

well i had my u/s yesterday and i measured at 6w6d exactly where i should be with a heartbeat of 121( i even heard it with the machine) it was absolutley amazing...I think the bigggest thing for me is the tiredness.. I am extremely tired, i can sleep for 10 hours wake up and go right back.. Its insane and my boob are ok, there tender but not umbearble. I just got switch to crinon instead of progesterone orl( it was giving me hives) but now the crinon makes me sooo dry in the vagata! I have to say it was a long 3 week! now im trying to get out of the first trimester so i can relax a little.....

when is your u/s?
