Hi guys,

Glad to hear everyone is going well. Quick update from me:

Spotting is still driving me mad. 2 weeks now and can expect it to go on for who knows how long. It's all brown blood and really only there in the mornings (worse after I lie down for long periods) and when I wipe. Had my 14 week scan today and bubs are both fine, measuring 10cms, but the blood clot is lying over the cervix which is why I'm continuing to spot. AGH!! I just wanted to enjoy my 2nd trimester :-(

I hired a fetal heart monitor which I use every day which has been my saving grace. My OB said that if the clot was going to pose any threat to the twins then it would have occured before the 12 weeks, so I'm trusting them on this one and trying to remain sane!

I'm trying to look fwd and focus on our 18 week scan which I have scheduled on DH's 40th bday (he's a leap year Feb 29 baby) where we will find out the sex of our little miracles. That will be the greatest bday present for him.

Ok off to eat again...

Hi everyone-
Dex- I'm so sorry you've had to deal with all the bleeding. However, the drs are usually right and if they are not concerned than you shouldn't be either. I know it's hard not to worry but let the drs be the ones to be concerned.

Jules- Glad to hear everything is going well with you and your little one. I always look forward to the scans for they are very reassuring.

As for me my next u/s is the 13th the day before valentine's day! That is when we will find out the sexes of these little ones. I'm so excited and can't wait to start feeling movement. My g/f who is due in the middle of april said she was feeling hers around 18 wks. Well I haven't felt anything. My other g/f who had twins through ivf as well said she really didn't start feeling things till 24 weeks...that's more reassuring to me. I'm getting bigger so I guess things are going well. I try to keep going to the gym to walk and eat lots of fruit and veggies as snacks which I crave. I can't believe my bedrest is in 9 wks! it'll be here before I know it.
Take care everyone and keep us posted!

Hi ladies,

Kimberli...You are an inspiration! Exercising, eating vegies. WOW You have given me a kick up the butt. My doc says no exercising for me, no sex (it's been 4 bloody months) and no lifting. Driving me crazy. I'm turning into a pork pie. Can't stand the taste of vegies, so I'm trying to eat lots of soups with blended vegies and all I crave is carbs. I know, recipe for a diet disaster. On the up side, I have only put on 1 kilo so far and can't eat large amounts.

Good news, no spotting for 48 hours. Pls let this be the end of it all. Feeling much happier. Nausea is there but much bearable and I actually bought some baby booties (had to tell myelf it was for a friend to bring myself to buy them though). Hopefully I can get over that phobia soon.

Hanging out for our gender scan in 2 weeks - can't wait!

HI all!!!!

Post by Kris in Kansas »

Hi everyone.....
It's been awhile since I have posted, but wanted to check in and see how all were doing.
We had some scarey weeks...small amount of pink bleeding, many scans and after visiting a specialist...all seems well.
While all of this has been going on, my husband who is in the army has been on deployment...which really sucked! He comes home Friday night, after 35 days....I am so excited.
Dex, I feel for you...bleeding is scarey no matter the cause. I kept hearing things looked good on US, but they could not really tell us why the bleeding.
They found out that I had a low lying placenta, a small hematoma, and that I still show the second gestational sack that did not grow after implantation.

BUT...with all of that we had a 3D-4D ultrasound, well baby is growing above adverage for gestational period, and we found out it is a BOY!!!!

I am having my quad testing done on the 25th of this month, and two more scans in March.......just to double check. By the time this is all done, I will have a whole photo album of scan photos of this little one. =)

Hope eveyone is doing great and progressing well........

Hi everyone-
Kristi- Sorry to hear you've had a bit of a scare with the bleeding. However all is ok if the dr's say so. Congrats on having a boy! I find out my sexes tomorrow.

Dex- Glad to hear you are doing well despite the bleeding. That must be a pain but thankfully it seems like its not an issue with the babies. I've laxed off the exercising I just havent' been feeling up to it. However, I keep up the veggies and fruit. Carbs I heard are good to eat as long as they are good carbs b/c it helps keep you full (less munching).\

All in all things are going good for me. I've had some gassiness and take gasx whcih really helps. Tomorrow we hope to find out the sexes as long as the babies cooperate. Wish me luck!

Keep in touch everyone

Good luck Kimberli for your gender scan_woohoo. I'm so jealous! Have to wait another 2 weeks for ours :-/

Kris, I hear ya babe. Totally sympathize. It's so stressful, any kind of bleeding but obviously it's a lot more common than we all thought. I def thought it was the end of the road but it's stopped now and I can no longer fit into any pants, so I'm content at the moment ! It's a sign to take it easy and have some extra monitoring and like you, I have an album of u/s pics. One bonus! Sounds like you're all fine. I think sometimes the growing placenta just causes some unexplained bleeding, but like my doc says, whatever it is, better out than in. My bleeding also started out pink but progressed to 3 weeks of dark brown spotting.

How is everyone else?

Can I ask an icky question? Too embarrassed to ask my OB in front of DH...Anyone having excess mucous secretions from week 15 onwards? I've read up on it and I think they call it Leucorreah(sp?) or something? Let me know if I'm not alone - please

Gotta fly,

I am too Dexter - don't worry - I think it is very common according to my book. In my ultra paranoid moments, I keep thinking it is my waters and the amniotic fluid leaking out but I try to stay rational!

Sorry haven't posted much everyone - v busy at work. Had 19 week scan last week and all fine - measuring as should be - didn't find out the sex! What will power eh?

Anyone felt any movements yet ? it should start happening about now for me but nothing so far - well plenty of tweaks and twinges but nothing definite.

Hope everyone is well.

Hi ladies, sounds like we are all doing well.

Dexter so glad the spotting has finally stopped for you, take it easy and try to start enjoying your pregnancy.
I am having more leakage down there too but i read its very common.

Angie, well done on the will power, are you going for the surprise then DH and I are. Glad all was well at the scan.

Kris, sorry about the bleeding, its so scary, and to do that without DH around must be awful, hope you have a good time catching up, and congratulations on having a boy.

Kimberli, how did the scan go? did you find out the sex? hope all was well.

As for me, had midwife app today, all going well got to hear the heartbeats, both around 145, she was very happy. Asked if we knew the sex as she mentioned they both sounded different as if that is an indication. We have our 20 week anomoly scan on March 5th, but we are not finding out the sex. Anyone else got really bad heartburn, some days it just will not go away its driving me crazy!!!

better go. having an Indian with DH, one of the few things that don't give me heartburn.
catch you all soon

Jayne I have also been getting heartburn. Comes and goes. Worse when I lie down. Awful isn't it. Mine didn't start til around 14 weeks. Nausea drops off, heartburn starts! DH thinks I'm milking this pregnancy for all the sympathy I can get

ON another note, I feel kinda weird and upset with myself today. My best friend rang me to pick my brains on pregnancy stuff but wouldn't confirm if she was actually prego or not...Some secrecy deal with her hubby. So I pleaded with her to tell me and yep, after 2 months of trying, only 1 ovary and 39 years of age, she's prego on the 2nd attempt. I am happy for her but geez I just wanted to throw something. I still feel so robbed of that natural high of finding out you're pg. I know I shouldn't feel like this as I have 2 little angels of my own sent to me from God, but boy it hurts sometimes when everyone else can just pop em out around me and I'm still suffering day to day, hoping the miracle won't be snatched away from me. She's already 9 weeks along which means we're really only 7 weeks apart - can't believe it! Just needed to vent..

All good now..Off to play with my doppler :P

Dexter, i so understand how you feel. When my Sis in law announced they were pregnant when i knew we were after trying for 5 years it knocked us sideways. And i still get angry that she stole my thunder, the worst is she was on the 'pill' supposedly. We so wanted to be the first to give my inlaws grandchildren especially as there are 14 years between the 2 brothers and that was robbed from us due to infertility. It sucks.

Regarding the heartburn, i think we will suffer worse as it increased by the progesterone in the body, so with 2 placentas oozing progesterone we are in for a long suffering ride. My Dr told me to try to sleep on an incline as its the stomach muscles reaxing allowing the gas to go back up your pipe. I am a gaviscon guzzler.

take care, oh and DH is buying us a doppler, he was amazed yesterday.

Hi Everyone!
Glad to hear everyone is doing well for the most part. As far as the heartburn goes....mine actually has subsided and dont' really get it anymore. Very weird. When I was having it I was taking Tums which has extra calcium and did help. Also I get angry as well with people who can pop out a baby with no issues. My best friend is 10 wks ahead of me and wasn't really trying and it happened. I cried b/c at the time I wasn't pregnant and just found out IVF 2 didn't work. I'm happy for her but at the same time it hurt.
As for me and my 20 wk scan.... All went well and everybody is perfect. IT took 2 hrs to do the scans. Would've been a bit shorter if one would've cooperated and showed us her spine. YES I said her we are having 2 girls! Jaqulynne Nicole and Taylor Audrey. Taylor is above my cervix and Jaqulynne is above her. Jaqulynne is more docile than Taylor. Taylor was moving all around and her feet were over her head at one point! At one point it actually looked like they were cuddling even though there is a membrane btwn them. It was a lot of fun watching them and reassuring that they are both perfect. My next scan will be in 4wks. I can't watit to see how much more they have grown.
Take care everyone and keep in touch.
Love,
Kimberli

Congratulations Kimberli!

That is such wonderful news - 2 girls and I love the names you've chosen.
My DH is also hoping for 2 girls..He is convinced. My Mum and Dad will be with us also when we find out a week on Friday. Seriously can't wait. It's so nice reading everyone's similar stories. It brings a smile to my face.

No more spotting for me. I feel like a new person :D

Thanks for the congrats Dex. I'm so glad you've finally stopped spotting. It must be a tremendous relief for you! Now you can relax a bit more and enjoy the pregnancy. Less than a week and you'll know what your babies are, it's so exciting! Have you felt any movement yet? I've started feeling movements the past week and a half. I think I had felt some earlier but wasnt' sure now that it's becoming a bit more regular I can identify it better.

Yes I can't wait, that's for sure. I'm sneaking in another u/s on Wed just to check on this damn clot and hoping that it's reabsorbed. Maybe just maybe we might be able to determine the sex then ??

Regarding movement Kimberli, I did feel little pulls and tugs a week ago and every now and then but I can't say I can feel anything like 'movement' exactly. Sometimes I think they move around and push on a nerve and I feel that!

I think you're so blessed having two girls - lucky you. I told DH I'd be happy with a two monkeys

My nausea's back - bugger..
