Hi everyone --

just wanted to check in on everyone and see how everyone is handling the transition to the 2nd trimester.

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and things are going great. I'm afraid that this pregnancy is going almost "too" smoothly and that I'll have to pay for it when the twins arrive. Right now both babies look and sound great so the dr is happy. Just trying to keep the weight gain to a minimum as I was already a bit fluffy when I got preg. :-) Gotta keep the holiday snacks at bay.

We are hoping to find out the sexes of our twins right before Xmas. Everyone is dying to know and they keep asking as if I'm holding on to a secret. DH wants 2 girls - we'll see if he gets his xmas wish. Does anyone else want to know what you are having?

It's cold and rainy in SoCal right now. Hope everyone is having fun getting ready for the holidays.

Send updates when you can.

I am just shy of 15 weeks and we find out the sex of our twins on the 17th of the month! Last visit to our Dr with a 3d ultrasound suggested we were having one boy and one girl. My DH and I are praying for at least one girl (as we lost our daughter last year to a horrible disease), he would love 2 girls, but we'd be very very happy with one of each. Actually, we'd be happy with healthy babies . . . period! BUT, if one gets to throw one's wish list out there, we'd absolutely love some female energy floating around the house to share her big sister's things.

My pregnancy has sucked to date -- sorry to say. First trimester was extremely exhausting and I was plagued with migraines (no MS though, thank god). I'm starting to get some energy in the 2nd trimester, though. I'm feeling HUGE! During the bulk of the first trimester, I stuck to a really healthy (no sugar, no white starchy carbs diet). BUT, in the last 6 weeks, I've been eating whatever I want -- and packing on the lbs. My first pregnancy, I didn't even begin to show until about 5-6 months. NOW, I look like I am at least 5 mos (maybe 6 mos) prego. If I'm this big now, I hate to see what I'm going to look like as the pregnancy progresses. Oh well, I guess it's good news for the babies -- the sacrifices we make!

Hope everyone is gearing up for the holidays. Can't wait until next year when I get to buy the babies lots and lots of stuff. Should be one of the best x-mas's yet.

Hello ladies. I'm going to be 13 weeks tomorrow. I've had pretty bad m/s. I'm on Zofran, which is helping a lot. Thank God! I've only gained a couple of lbs. so far, but my pants are all getting really tight. I feel so fat. I have one pair of maternity jeans that I live in. I need to go get some more clothes. I don't think I'll find out what I'm having until I'm 18 weeks. I'll be getting a level II u/s then. I'm hoping for one of each, but really just want healthy babies. I can't believe how fast it has gone so far. It wil be Jan. before we know it. Keep in touch.

Hi Girls, I've read you posts and glad to hear everything seems to be going ok. Sorry about the m.s. Christie. I hope it gets better soon!

BabyB, I know it's so hard to watch what your eating when you are hungry! Hopefully your pregnancy will start going more smoothly now.

I am now 17 weeks and everything has been going well. I've gone to my regular obgyn twice and he said I measured well and I heard the heartbeat twice. So cool! I won't get my US for about another month though so we won't know what we are having til then.

I have been extremely lucky with no m.s. or anything and the extreme tiredness I had in the first trimester is lessening. I just bought my first pair of maternity pants last weekend and like you said Christie, I am LIVING in them, they are so much more comfy than my regular clothes. My aunt had given me a bunch of her stuff but it is way too big right now so I'm going to go to Target tonight to find a pair of jeans.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Holiday! Did anyone get baby stuff for Christmas? :) Has anyone felt the babies moving yet? I'm just waiting on the edge of my seat for that to happen but I haven't felt anything yet. I had a dream last night that I felt something but it was just a dream :) They say it's supposed to happen anywhere from 16 to 20 weeks.

Well, I was so glad to read your posts, this time of year is so busy that I haven't even looked on the board for a while. Take care girls and I wish you the best for this second trimester!

UPDATES

I JUST WANTED TO BRING THIS BOARD BACK UP TO DATE. I HAVEN'T BEEN AROUND HERE BUT A FEW TIMES. I AM 18 WEEKS DUE JUNE 21ST. WE JUST FOUND OUT A WEEK OR 2 AGO THAT WE ARE HAVING A LITTLE GIRL!! OUR SON IS SOO HAPPY, HE WANTED A BABY SISTER. I HAVE TO GO IN EVERY WEEK FOR AN ULTRASOUND TO CHECK MY CERVICAL LENTH DUE TO A LEEP SEVERAL YEARS AGO. ALL SEEMS TO BE GOING GOOD. I HAVE HAD NO MORNING SICKNESS (DIDN'T HAVE ANY WITH SON 11 YEARS AGO EITHER) STILL HAVEN'T GAINED ANY WEIGHT BUT I HAVE A BELLY??... MY DOCTOR SAYS THAT IS OKAY AS LONG AS I AM EATING. I HAVE FELT HER TWITCH AND KICK LIGHTLY A COUPLE TIMES A DAY, BUT AS SOON AS I CALL FOR SOMEONE TO FEEL HER SHE QUITS. GO FIGURE. THIS WEEK I HAVE FELT SOME PELVIC PRESSURE AND SOME THROBBING MAYBE STRETCHING, I DON'T KNOW. IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE I HAD MY SON I DON'T REMEMBER. WE ARE THINKING OF NAMES, WE DECIDED TO LET OUR SON PICK THE NAME. SO OUR BABY GIRL IS GOING TO BE MILEY NICOLE. ANYWAY I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU OTHERS THAT ARE DUE IN JUNE, WHAT YOUR FEELING OR WHATS GOING ON.

hi again

Post by keddie »

Carolina Girl, I'm glad you posted, I haven't checked the boards in a while since it seemed everyone had given up on it but since I had minute on my lunch hour I figured I'd look.

So glad to hear everything is going well for you! Congratulations on having a GIRL! WOW! We found out at 20 weeks that we are having a boy. I was hoping for girl but this just means we'll have to try again! :D I'm 25 weeks now and so far everything seems to be going smoothly.

If I remember correctly you are the one who your dr. office told you weren't pregnant and they were wrong cause you kept taking home tests and doubted them??? I think we were on the September/October Cycle buddies thread a little while back. Time sure is flying now isn't it!

Have you started a baby room yet? Have a theme? I go for a second ultrasound tomorrow because they couldn't get a good measurement of the spine the first time around so I'm excited to see how big and how much different he looks! We haven't told anyone we know the sex and are trying to keep it secret until the birth so I'm definately excited to be able to tell someone. Well, you take care and it was so good hearing from you!

Kelly congrats on the boy. It won't be long until he would love to have a baby sister. Yes i am the one they told i wasn't pregnant. I will be 23 weeks on the 23rd. I do not have a room ready, we are planning to build a house in the next few months so then i will decorate!!!!! I am doing precious moments. I did pooh with my son 11 years ago, wanted something different. We have told everyone that we are having a girl. For my parents this will make 3 girls and 3 boys, and for dh's dad it will be 2 girls and 2 boys so eveyone is excitied. I go tomorrow for my last weekly visit and ultrasound. Then i start normal visits like everyone else allthough i have to say i am not sure what or when normal visits are. guess i will find out. it was so good to hear from you.. glad all is well with you and baby. do you have a name yet??

Carolina Girl, wow, I was surprised to see a response! I haven't looked in a long time, obviously!

I hope everything is still going well for you and baby! I'm down to three weeks left now and getting very anxious! you asked about names and I'm pretty sure the name will be Gabriel Luke and we will call him Gabe. I'm definately ready to meet him!

How is everything going for you? Do you start building your house? I wish I would have kept in touch with more of the girls from the thread maybe I'll make a new thread and see if anyone responds. Take care and good luck and hope to hear from you again!

Glad to see someone in june! I thought I was the only one left. I love that name, so cute. No we have not started building yet. We are still going back and forth with the land we want. I figure she will be in my room for a few months anyway so that buys me some time. I am back to weekly ultrasounds and weekly non stress tests due to me getting gestational diabetes. I have 5 more weeks left but they are keeping an eye on her weight (diabetes causes baby to get to big) They checked her weight last monday and she weighs 5 lbs 8 oz. But if she starts getting to big they will induce at 38 weeks which is first week in june!! yea.. I can't wait we are all so excitied. It was good to hear from you, btw what part of pa are you from?? I grew up there and never realized you were from there until just now.

Melanie,

It was great to hear from you too! I had three glucose tests done because the first two i had were high and luckiliy the third one came back ok. That's too bad about the gestational diabetes but maybe your little one will come into the world soon! I am due June 6th and my last day of work is this Friday so I'm excited!

Good luck with your property too, it will all work out in time! I grew up in Ellwood City PA, and now live in Ford City PA, which is about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh. That is something that you grew up in pA!

Well I go to my first weekly apt. tomorrow and they are supposed to start internal exams , oH Boy! But after all we have been through I'm sure that will be nothing! I almost have to remind myself of the weeks and months of shots and injections we had to go through! I'm glad all that is in the past.

Did you say you have names picked out? I had a TON of girl names picked out. But for boy names it was more difficult for me. For some reason I like Gabe though.

I was really excited to see a post from you and will be keeping you in my thoughts for a save delivery!! :)

I grew up in monoreville, I try to come up every summer to visit my grandparents but the baby will be to small to travel this year. How bout them penguins!! lol. Yea i do have my name, It's Miley Nicole. My dh and I said that he would pick the boy and I would pick the girl. He had Deagan James for a boy. I had so many for a girl that we took a vote on our myspace pages. I had it down to Spencer and Miley. But glad that Miley won. Dh wasn't thrilled with Spencer for a girl. I went today for my weekly and they did internal check, not doing anything yet... sigh Still a little early i guess. I am just ready... Well if i don't talk to you before the babies get here, good luck and hope to hear from you soon!!!
