HCG # ?

Post by krista »

Hi, I'm pretty new to all of this and am curious about the HCG numbers the nurse told me. I took my first pregnancy test on 2/20 and the HCG number was 468 and then I took my second pregnancy test on 2/22 and the HCG number was 1,086. Does anyone know what the numbers mean?

How I understand it is that your second number needs to be about double your first to rule out a chemical pregnancy. There's a lot of talk about high humbers indicating multiples but not much evidence. Lots of women with high numbers have one baby and women with lower numbers can have multiples. Either way, you're pregnant!!!!!!! So congrats!

It means you probably have a strong pregnancy at this point.

If it was lower and growing slowly, then it would suggest a pregnancy loss or an ectopic pregnancy.
